HISTORY:
Born the eldest out of two in Susanville, California, Bussada - or as she nicknamed herself Bambi after her 'mild' obsession over the Disney movie - always knew she was destined to be more than a town's girl. Her biggest interests as far back as she can remember were film and fashion, and while she didn't have a camera around to do her own home movies, she had full access of all the wardrobes in their home. Even the most plain piece of clothing in her hands was styled to grab the eye immediately.
The older she grew the more her dreams were pulling her to Los Angeles, a city she knew she could succeed in as long as she put in the work - which she didn't mind, with a family ranch to help around, Bambi was used to working hard. Although her parents humored and allowed her to do her own thing with fabric and old clothes she never let them throw away they weren't happy when she shared what she thought would be good news of her decision to try her luck out in LA. They pictured their girls staying in town and looking after the ranch, but that wasn't something Bambi wanted. This created a rift between the once close-knit family. She didn't understand why they wouldn't approve her choice when she'd always shown a passion for fashion, and it was obvious Susanville didn't have a thing to offer for growth. The last year she spent at home before she hit eighteen was full of silent frowns or loud arguments, rarely a day with something in-between. Her only support was her younger by two years sister and her boyfriend at the time.
Leaving wasn't easy, it was hard on everyone in the family and the boy she left behind. But she had dreams and she intended on turning them into reality. With promises of frequent returns, Bambi set out toward the unknown. Settling wasn't wasn't easy at first, but after a couple of months, she met her best friend (or as she always said, sister from another mister). Becoming her friend made all the dull and uncertain days brighter, and she can't deny how much help she was when it came to putting her name in the business. Everything was going the way she wanted, and she did keep her word on returning home often. Her little sister was still number one in her life, even though her parents had no problem showcasing their disapproval every time she went to visit.
When she was twenty-four, her sister finally decided to take the leap like her sister and follow her to LA, which sent Bambi over the moon! The Soikham sisters were coming to LA, hold on tight! Obviously, none of it was easy on their parents, but they knew just like her older sister they couldn't stop her. The plan was easy, Bambi would stay for two weeks to spend time with the whole family and help out with packing, and while it was going to be bittersweet she couldn't hide her gleaming smile. Everything was smooth sailing until it wasn't. It was a quiet night in the Soikham household, everyone gathered around the TV to watch some game show when it was cut short by the news lady warning people about a virus that seemed to change people's behavior entirely. Bambi tried to brush it off as something meaningless, but as days went by she came to find out it was serious. Her father put his foot down and didn't let either of the girls leave, and truth be told both of them were too scared to do so. They had their crop and cattle, they knew how to look after the land, and all they needed was to make sure strangers and those infected they spoke about wouldn't have access to it. They worked from the early hours of the morning till ungodly hours of the night to build up and around their most valued piece of land, cutting away the outside world. For a while it was perfect, they were safe and they didn't know much about what was happening on the outside, the only person to leave if they ever needed something was their father. He told them stories of what he'd seen, and they were terrified.
Five years! Their ranch remained for five years! It wasn't much, but they found a way to survive and protect each other until one day when all hell broke loose, there was a hole around one of the walls that gave access to what Bambi can only describe as disgusting monsters, while her sister insisted they were zombies. They fought them off, somehow they did and they sealed the hole and they were okay! They thought everything was okay ...
It was hard to get a shut eye after, Bambi was too worried it'd happen again and a shiver went down her spine when she heard weird noises coming from her parent's bedroom, her sister had heard them too and both crept up the room slowly opening the door just to hear their father yell out to stay outside. He told them their mother had become one of those things and he didn't have the heart to kill her, how could he? They've been through thick and thin, the high school sweethearts everyone rooted for, he just couldn't. He told them he'd try to fight and hold her off, but they had to pack their bags with enough provisions and find a safe place because their home wasn't anymore.
Devastated, but scared, the girls listened and ran. They didn't know what to do or how to survive all on their own, but they vowed they'll always protect each other and somehow that helped Bambi see an opportunity of finding a sanctuary where the two can feel safe again. It wasn't easy navigating this new life, it wasn't just the infected, people were different too and many didn't care if what they do is right or wrong. But the two survived, day by day, fight after fight they found a way to keep going untill they finally found a quarantine zone where they remained for two years, but resources started running low and suddenly they weren't a community anymore. All hell broke loose, and one person opened their doors and ran allowing the infected full access inside and in their attempt to run Bambi and her sister got separated. She spent days, weeks, stalking around what they called home in hope of finding her, but she never did. She knew though in her heart Apinya is alive and they'll meet again so she didn't give up.
She kept going until she found another community at the university. It's been three years since her arrival, and although it wasn't just a smooth road she's happy to have some place to call home. She doesn't agree with most who wish their doors to remain shut, because she's still holding out on hope that Apinya will find her way here.
PERSONALITY:
Bambi didn't let the new world suck the life out of her. She still tries to be positive and hopes for a way for the world to return to what it used to be and she'll be with her sister again. You can tell her the world will never be the same, but she won't let anyone tell her Apinya is most likely dead, and added anyone who tried to be realistic to her short list of people she doesn't like. She's friendly and warm, choosing to believe humans are worthy of being trusted.
