Columbia Road Flower Market .. lack of ATMs, massive crowds, the normal East London style .. and of course FLOWERS
Tumblr media
I am lucky - I have someone who buys me flowers every week (and thats totally not because I am demanding or high maintenance or sth)..
I loved my ex boss and he loved Columbia Flower market (ot at least thats the impression I got) but for numerous reasons it took me some 707 days (thats a totally arbitrary number of course) to finally make it there.. Not that we dont live like 15 minutes away (ok, thats by cab I guess), but still ... Not that I dont like flowers - I leove them as much as I leove ... sunglasses and sun I guess. Thank god for a Sunday 2pm brunch next to the flower market that we finally made it there .. and it was aweeesome - a flower addict's paradise and a photographer's empty canvass to experiment.
It definitely is an explosion of like... everything really - garbage everywhere, massive overcrowding and people stepping on your shoes (so never wear a new pair of suede trainers or you will hate yourself after - and no, I totally did not do that - I really didnt't btw), music or rather tones aspiring to be music, homemade-mediocre-tasting-cupcakes made by youngsters from the area (50p for one), utterly expensive vintage shops and urban East Lon 'haute couture'. And how could I forget - massive queues to get sth to eat, god forbid you wanna sit... And of course I was told off that I walk in the wrong lane (since when are there lanes on tiny pedestrian paths packed with people... these people are indeed obsessed with fake order)...
I can totally say that it is the epitome of London (ok, definitely not your London if your postcode is SW1X 7LJ, that's 1 Hyde Park for the more ignorant ones out there). Its messy and colourful and kind of really cool actually - people totally don't care what they wear or how they look - they just wanna hang out with friends and have sth cool to eat and buy bulks of flowers to freshen the dullness of their London abode..
I am definitely gonna take my mum next time when she comes visit

Scotland ... and a place I love
Tumblr media
Perhaps because I share these inimical feelings towards London's hassle and weather, I love the quietness and kindness of Scotland... or at least of the Scottish Highlands.
The trip to Scotland was the second, the season- winter and apparently the 'low' to go, but the weather was crispy-clear, sunny and sheep-packed. At Neist Point the weather was mind blowing - the wind was soooooo strong - it almost reminded me of London  (but the view was incomparable - an end of the world scenery).
I leoveee stillness, quiet and desertedness - people have time to think and enjoy what they do, people eat normal food that actually tastes the way it should and people are kind... oh, ok, we met this super I-havent-had-sex-in-a-lifetime-waitress but I couldn't care less about the problems of her life.. as if we all don't have our own - she surely isn't looking at my kisel (thats like lemony and not in a good mood in Bulgarian) face when I am trying to figure the legality of the average avoidable cost under the economic efficiency test in loyalty inducing rebates under article 102 TFEU - so.... seeeooooorrrry.
And what I like about Scotland is their whiskeys... and it must be some leoveee if we travelled 300km from the 'end of the world' to the Glenmorangie distillery, apparently now owned by LVMH ... and one could tell - the toilets were awesome and smelled well :) And we discovered a lot about the secrets of whiskey.
And I leove the sheep and the lakes and the big moons .. and of course the castles and the biiiig beds and huge rooms .... bottom line .. I leove Scotland as it is natural and real and isn't owerpowered by human fakeness, wifi connections (or any connections by that matter), or other tech superfluousness.
The roads were single track, hence barely fitting our little sub-par plastic brand new rented car (not even mentioning oncoming traffic)... but we got smelly hitch hikers on stop, so the car wasn't that suicidal after all.
And I need to go again, as sadly we tried but didn't succeed in spotting Nessie  .. (thats the Loch Ness monster) ... though we saw its most loyal hunter Steven Feltham nested by the Dores Inn in his caravan searching for it day and night... And he has been living there for 25 years - oh well... some people ARE crazy daisy

A sum up of Singapore... When you ask someone about Sing - you here - Changi airport is cool, isn't it? & of course - its really clean... Concur with the the former, wouldn't necessarily brand the second one as the case - We saw a rat in the street soooooo - sorry!!!
Otherwise - I can move there! (And I don't move to many places)
