Before he was kidnapped, Chief used to play the guitar. Specifically, he had a black electric guitar with red and silver accents on the hardware. The body had this shape. He loved playing, and he'd only learned one song and how to play it in different keys. After Chief's mutation he never sought out trying to pick up playing again, because he didn't think he could. He didn't have five fingers anymore, so he thought it was impossible.

Chief would still like to play again- he'd love to. But he'd have to relearn everything. It'd make him frustrated, honestly, when he could play before but now has to struggle relearning the one song he already knew. And he knows he'd be frustrated with it, so he doesn't touch it.

Everyone has a favorite fruit, maybe they just like the flavor or they like how it feels. Maybe someone close to them liked it, or they just like it because it's neat. For Chief, his favorite fruit is also a comfort food.

Mangos are Chief's favorite. It was the primary ingredient in the first food- real food- he had after escaping The Baron. Since that day, Chief will gladly eat anything with mangos on it. He'll also eat the fruits plain. He'll eat them in a smoothie, or just the juice alone. He'll eat them roasted, candied, dried. If it's mango flavored, or if it's made of mangos, or the recipe uses mangos as an ingredient, it's an instant favorite for Chief.

Chief's primary voice claim is Yasuo from League of Legends. It's his normal voice. The voice he developed for The Ronin is from this song, but with far less of a southern accent. I don't watch the series the song is inspired by, it just popped up on my spotify one day and while listening to it, the voice clicked for The Ronin.

-- {{ Headcanon - Fictional Media in Chief's home universe & Childhood Shows he watched while growing up

Like our universe, Chief's own home universe has fictional media. Some of it we don't have in our universe, such as Jupiter Jim, Lou Jitsu, and Atomic Lass, but a vast majority of others we do have in our own.

Chief has basic knowledge of a good few of franchises. Star Wars, Star Trek, Dungeons & Dragons, Magic The Gathering, Vampire The Masquerade, and Warrior Cats he all has basic ideas of. He hasn't seen any of the movies or played any of the games or read any of the books, but he can understand some extremely common references.

He has seen a lot of Disney, Pixar, Dreamworks, and Universal movies growing up until he was kidnapped by Baron Draxum. He can understand references made about those movies. He did try to get into Marvel once, he watched one of the movies that was out at the time, but he didn't care much for it. He also doesn't care much for DC either.

Very few franchises did he actually latch on to and the interest continue even after his mutation. Growing up, the Pokemon Anime and The Adventures of Sonic The Hedgehog were two of his favorite shows, alongside educational shows such as Zoboomafoo and later Wild Kratts, Cyber Chase, and Martha Speaks.

Some of the other fun shows Chief liked to watch as a child before being mutated by The Baron were House of Mouse and later Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, Clifford's Puppy Days, Rolie Polie Olie, Phineas and Ferb, Bear in The Big Blue House, Charlie and Lola, The Doodlebops, Handy Manny, Higglytown Heroes, Johnny and The Sprites, JoJo's Circus, Little Einsteins, Stanley, The Wiggles, and Curious George, among various other shows across the kids channels he had access to growing up.

The only franchises that stuck with him in adulthood after mutation, however, are Pokemon and Sonic The Hedgehog. He's unable to keep up with them, but he tries his best. At base, Chief will have always played all of Sonic Adventure and at least half of Sonic Adventure 2 while having learned the rest of the story after his mutation, and he will have pirated the first Sonic live action movie since he couldn't see it in theaters because.... Mutant turtle...

Chief will always have played at least Pokemon Sapphire and had seen one season's worth of the Pokemon Anime, as well as the first Pokemon movie. It is a lot for him to keep up with, and even as an adult he struggles to keep up with all the media there is for Pokemon. As a child, he did like to collect the shiny(holo and reverse holo) Pokemon cards, though, and he wishes he still had his collection.

Default, Chief has played all of Sonic Adventure and Sonic Adventure 2, has played some of Sonic Heroes, tried to play Shadow The Hedgehog, watched cutscenes of Sonic 06, knows vaguely of the story for both Sonic Forces and Sonic Frontiers, played a few levels of Sonic Generations, and similarly has played a few levels of Shadow Generations. He has also pirated both the first and second Sonic live action movies, and actually went topside for once and snuck into a theater to see Sonic 3. Chief will also have played Pokemon Fire Red, Pokemon Y, and Pokemon Sun alongside Pokemon Sapphire. He'll have watched at least five Pokemon movies as well, and have watched at least five seasons worth of episodes of the Pokemon Anime.

To prevent infomodding, plotting will be required, as the information Chief knows is flexible for this exact reason. He will never ever know unique things about people he's seen in fiction in his universe, he will always only know what he's been shown. I have this stated in my rules, as well; if Chief is meeting someone he recognizes from fictional media from his universe, he will assume they are 1:1 with what he knows until otherwise told. He will also be in shock that the multiverse is real, but also kinda kicking himself for not realizing that considering... Mutant turtle....

One mistake. One slipup. One miscalculation. A slip of the blade and a broken sigil later and Chief had plummeted into a new world. He prided himself on rarely, if ever, making such callous mistakes when working jobs- he knew going in that this was a mystics user he was up against and knew they'd try to escape by mystics. But a botched local teleportation spell leading him to being sent to a new world was not on the list of things to expect.

It was easy, though frustrating, to adapt to a new routine. He needed work, needed money for food and a gym membership and a hotel room. Needed to be able to have internet to research jobs. He quickly found this world wasn't like his own, no hidden underground cities, no mystics. While it was nice, being so far away from things he doesn't like, it also meant he had to cover up more.

Things were going well. He was getting enough money to get by. Unfortunately The Ronin was beginning to be known again, the news talking about some "serial killer" on the loose throughout the country and a nation wide manhunt going on, but Chief has been through that before.

What he hadn't been through, however, was who was after him.

Of all the universes, it had to be one like this. Of all the government forces, it had to be the Guardian Units of Nations. Honestly, a part of Chief was excited. It turned out, he knew this world better than he thought when he got here! But another part of him was terrified. They were works of fiction in his world. He knows what they do. He knows what they did. He's played it. He's watched it. He knows the threat.

...That didn't stop him from looking further into things, realizing not only where he was but when he was, what has yet to transpire, and deciding to speed things along. To double check, he'd broken into the nearest G.U.N facility and hacked their systems. He only took a glance at some key information- looking for a specific species and then hyperfixating on finding the holding location. Once he had that location, he was off.

Maybe he should've looked into the files more, because as he neared the facility, things felt off. This didn't seem right. This wasn't what he remembered happening on the screen. But, he reasoned, maybe he was early. Maybe the hedgehog had been kept in a location prior and was moved to better security.

Not a single soldier that he crossed paths with was spared, regardless of if they had clean records or not. The fact that they worked for G.U.N was enough to get slain. He kept to the shadows, kept his takedowns quiet, any attention brought upon him quickly met their end and he swiftly moved on. He was a man on a mission and he would not be stopped.

The Ronin at least had enough sense to get the exact room along with the building he'd been after. And when he stepped into the room he expected some kind of pod or whatever he'd seen before on the big screen in his universe. He didn't expect the hedgehog to be outside of that pod. Didn't expect him to be awake. Didn't expect him to be blue. Didn't expect-

Whenever Chief gears up, whenever he puts on those masks, he puts on another as well. The Ronin himself is a mask, a character Chief had developed and plays when he needs to work. His true self is the man without the masks. The man he wants to be most often is the man without the masks. He's more free, able to express his emotions, able to wear his heart on his sleeve. As The Ronin, he can't do that.

He never intended for The Ronin to be named, but of course the media had other plans and gave him a name. He doesn't like it, thinks it's inaccurate and dumb, but unfortunately it is what it is and he is The Ronin. This character he made to hide his identity and allow himself to be safe when out and about while still having the reputation he has now has a name, and he's not a fan of it.
