You were so excited! Just 8 more hours, and you'd have beat Papa and won a month of freedom from diapers!

All you had to do was to keep your adorable little binky in your mouth for the rest of the day. It was such an easy bet to take. Papa made you use your binky basically 24/7 anyways, well, except when other people were around of course.

Your excitement immediately disappeared as the doorbell rang, however.

"Baby, can you go get that? The guests are here! I thought tonight would be perfect for a game night with your friends."

Papa's eyes shone in victory as he rounded the corner and found you paralyzed in shock.

What were you going to do?

Take the paci out, save your pride, and resign yourself to a year of 24/7 padding.

"Sweetie, what did I say about doing that?" or "Are you going to be good while I'm gone?" are also examples of fun condescending toddler-talk phrases. Be creative, but always do it with love.
