While traveling to Solarium wasn’t really in her plans, Kyouka can’t deny that the place is beautiful. However, it’s a bit... boring. She’s used to being alone a lot of the time, she’s been away from Yokohoma for months now, but she wishes she had some sort of company. She’s not one to really bother people, especially if she doesn’t know them, so she accepts her fate and continues walking.

She finds herself at Uranoscopus, their aquarium. She hasn’t been to one in a while, and it’s a nice way to kill time. Eyes stare off at the tanks with a bored expression, putting her hands against the glass. Her head turns as she feels someone stand next to her, giving a small wave. Well, at least there’s someone she can have some sort of conversation with.

❝ Hi. Do you like watching the fish? ❞

There are many things you can do when you’re in an unfamiliar area-- explore, investigate, ponder. Those are all things Kyouka has done, and while she didn’t get much information, she did find many food stores littered around this tiny town. A logical and cautious person wouldn’t dare try anything out, in case there’s a trick or something in the food.

But she thinks with her stomach! So here she is, entering Flybucks with her dragon around her shoulder (her name is Violet! It took her way too long to decide on one). She orders a simple coffee and a cupcake, holding her items as she scans the tables. There aren’t that many people around... except for the fact that someone very familiar is sitting near the window. She stares for a moment, face blank as she processes what she’s seeing.

Dazai...?

Since when was he here? Kyouka doesn’t have a clue, but she can’t deny the relief she feels that there’s somewhere else she knows here. Should she go up to him? She doesn’t want to intrude, but she finds herself walking to his table and tapping his shoulder.

❝ Dazai-san. ❞

Well... what happened today was bad. Very bad. She didn’t expect to see fires rampaging Koi, but here we are. Kyouka wanted to help, but the prospect of going to another world sounded... exciting? New? She doesn’t know, but she will keep her guard up in case something else happens. You can never be too careful, after all. 

...But this place is very pretty.

She was able to get her own ‘familiar’, whatever that meant-- a small dragon was nice company. It was tiny, preferring to walk next to her as her eyes wander to the people passing by. Are there even more worlds like Koi? How many are there? She can’t help but be curious, especially since all she knew before this was Yokohoma. It’s a little unnerving, knowing that she can easily be taken without a trace... and it’s been months now.

A small shake of her head follows. There’s no need to think about that, she has to get adjusted-- but her legs immediately halt as she spots someone from a distance. Someone... familiar. One she hasn’t seen in a long time.

❝ ...Ah. ❞

She begins to run. She runs and runs as her dragon follows, and she crashes into him and holds onto his middle tightly. It’s silly, the way her hands tremble and her eyes squeeze shut, but it’s okay. She can let her emotions go, just this once.

As he continued to listen to her words, the more uneasy he felt. While a part of him refused to believe all of this, that part was growing smaller and smaller. Her words made it all sound plausible, even if many of the specifics were missing. Furthermore, her words liked up with Chuuya’s, who he had also spoken with. While it was possible that this was all made up to mess with them, both her and Chuuya were from rival organizations, so why would they be in agreement unless what they said was truth?

“…so this man, Fyodor…used myself and my ability to infect the leaders of both the Guild’s rival organizations?” Uttering those words left him feeling disgust; such a thing was contrary to his faith, and who he was as a person. Though if what she said was true, another question came to his mind, and one that he wasn’t certain he wanted an answer to.

“…did this man make me do anything else?” Since the girl knew this much, perhaps there was more she could tell him. Plus, if this man were to arrive, Nathaniel would not know what he looked like to even be able to find him to ask. Therefore, it was better to see how much information he could get from this girl first.

❝ Yes, precisely. I was busy doing research if you were involved with other things, but I was dragged here before I could finish. ❞

Kyouka shakes her head before standing up, stretching before looking over with curiosity. Despite the subject matter, he didn’t seem to be hostile or ready to attack. A nice change, if you ask her, and she moves a hand to fiddle with her hair.

❝ I’m hungry, I think I’m going to go to a cafe nearby. How about you? ❞

She could continue talking, but her stomach is yearning for food and she will listen to it! She’s been craving some crepes, anyways.

     ONE has to be ready to act at a moment’s notice, live with the decision they’ve made, while acting appropriately when it turns out you’ve chosen wrong. That’s why Star Platinum has turned toward the middle bakery out of the three, Hidden Delights.

❝ We can go to all three. My reasoning for wanting to go here first is they’re not involved with the other two. They can focus on their craft. ❞

Plus, there’s gonna be talking mad shit about the other two, he bets. He likes a mess. He turns to stare over his pauldron to see what Kyouka’s thinking.

Sure, some chaotic things are happening, that much is happening. But does Kyouka really care that much? Nope. What’s most important to her is the internal debate of which bakery to visit. This is a very crucial part of the process, one that needs much thought and pondering. 

❝ Hm... that makes sense. Since they’re more focused, the food may be of higher quality. ❞

She nods and moves forward, gesturing for the other to follow her. It’s nice to have a companion during these trying times, which does include choosing which bakery to go to. Seeing someone take this as seriously as she does is, frankly, wonderful.

Dangerous. Not just for other people, but for the other girl herself. And a little odd, of course, but she’s not the right person to be judgmental about things that might seem strange.

“I…I see…” She’s a little pale actually, thinking about that ( frightening, the thought, not of the girl in front of her ). “That…it must be a useful skill at a time like this, right?” Even with something like that, she’s trying to find a positive spin to put on things. Besides, she looks proud of herself, and she doesn’t want to be a downer on that…if she doesn’t think about it too hard, it’s a rather impressive accomplishment!

That gets a smile out of her, genuinely, a nod of agreement. “It’s no fun to win every time, right? Whatever happens, happens…yeah, that way of thinking is a little better. That’s just how things go, sometimes.”

❝ Very. I like throwing knives, but this is fine too. ❞

Kyouka nods, proceeding to walk down the boardwalk. If the other follows her, she’ll continue to speak. She doesn’t mind her company, and it’s nice to talk to someone around her age. She’s only ever been surrounded by adults, so it’s a nice change.

❝ I get determined, but I don’t worry much about games or anything like that. What matters is having a good time, I think. ❞

She hums under her breath, gaze turning to look at Ahiru. She doesn’t know much about the girl, and maybe they can be friends after this. That would be nice.

❝ What do you do for fun? ❞

As the name of his partner left her lips, Nathaniel felt his blood run cold. The thought of Margaret allowing herself to be injured, or to even be injured in the first place was inconceivable. She was a very proud woman with a far stronger ability than his own, and he knew she was more than capable of holding her own in a fight. Furthermore, he had no knowledge of this Akutagawa person, other than the mention of a Port Mafia assassin in the Guild files.

“That…cannot be,” he said slowly, his tone one of disbelief and unease. “She was with me just the other day. Besides, if this event did happen as you claimed, would not the memory of something of this scale still be present?” Surely he would have remembered something as serious as this, especially if it had been a motive to betray the Guild, which he would not have done normally.

However, if all of what she, and by extension Chuuya said was true, then just who took his memories? Why would he forget something as major as this? And why were these memories taken from him.

More importantly: What else was he forgetting? What else had happened?

Th last of her words brought his attention back to the present. “…what do you mean by ‘it backfired completely’? What did this person do?” And just who was this Fyodor person in the first place?

❝ No. Everyone in this city has forgotten something important, but we don’t know why. The council has been asked about it, but we received no answer. ❞

Kyouka can understand his frustration, forgetting something so important is harrowing. But they’re all in the same boat here, and she doesn’t find it necessary to antagonize him over it. No one knows why they’re here or when they’ll go back home. It’s frustrating, and she wishes that they at least got all their memories back.

❝ The agency believed you went to him for help, but were tricked into being used as his own puppet. He used your ability along with someone else’s to infect the leader of both the agency and the Port Mafia with a virus. A war broke out between us for a while. ❞

Is she bitter over that? A bit, as the agency was-- and is-- her home, where she feels like she truly belongs. Thinking of it falling apart like that sends chills down her spine. However, he was under control, even if he was part of the Guild beforehand. No one was sure how why he acted that way, so mindless and like a zombie... maybe it was a mind control ability? Surgery? She was looking into it, but was brought here before she could look further. 

❝ ...There is a chance he can appear here, as well. If that happens, maybe you can ask him. ❞

The thought of it makes her angry, but it’s not impossible. This city grabs anyone it chooses, so it’s something she can’t control. Caution is needed when around him, however... and he might have also lost memories of that same event. This is a very complicated situation.

There is a brief moment of the girl seemingly losing herself in her thoughts but before Hitoshi could even ask what’s on her mind, she immediately goes back to the situation at hand. Nevertheless, that doesn’t escape his notice and he takes a mental note to ask about it if he gets the chance. His criminal comment must have triggered something and if there’s something more felonious about this girl than she lets on, then he deems it his responsibility to find that out as a hero.

He takes a quick gander of their surroundings in search of the toy store. This is the first time he’s been here after all so he isn’t exactly the most reliable tour guide. He sees the shopping center displayed just right in front of the claw machine and for a second, he feels like an idiot. Then again, the girl didn’t notice that either so that makes them both idiots.

❝Could be there.❞ He gestures to the place with a tilt of his head. ❝I can help you find that doll if you want. Not like I have anything better to do here.❞

Oh, there it is. She feels a little dumb for not having noticed it earlier, but better late than never. Kyouka nods and walks over to the toy store, fiddling with one of her pigtails. She should probably mention why she wants the plush so bad. After a hum in thought, she speaks up.

❝ The stuffed animal can join my other bunny. Their name is Bob, and they have been feeling lonely. ❞

With another one, she can play along with her roommate. Now no one will be left out, right? It’s the perfect plan, if you ask her. The doors to the store open, and her eyes scan around to find the appropriate section. Books, baby section, toys, stuffed plushes... ah! There we go. She motions with her hand for Shinsou to follow her, picking up the pace to get there as quickly as possible.

  Arms folded, a triumphant smile shone on her face as she listened to the girl threaten the waiter, her head nodding along to the the words “stab” and “instant death”. Maybe, just maybe, she misjudged this girl and has, in fact, stumbled upon a useful ally. 

The thought only fires her up.

“ Not a problem!! If they try anything, I’ll handle the rest. ” She had no qualms with roughing people up if the situation called for it, and she thought the trade-off was fair–Pigtails takes care the threats while Alice covers the fighting. It seemed like a fruitful partnership to her! “ I can’t let you take all the credit, after all! ” 

She can fight...? Well, with her energy, that isn’t too surprising. Kyouka is vaguely curious on watching her beat someone up, but she won’t say anything. Alice will beat someone up eventually. As they wait for the food, she fiddles with her pigtails. She can ask questions, at least.

❝ How do you fight? With fists or weapons? ❞

Tackling is also a valid option, although it can be risky. Questioning should be safe, she doubts she’ll tackle a random waiter around here. 

...Probably. Hopefully? Whatever happens, happens. It would be kinda funny.

Kyouka decides to ignore all of this. She’ll hold Marry back if she considers trying to intervene, though.
