I don't know if this has been asked or answered but is there or will there ever be a fic of hostile life au because I feel it deserves one and it's so good and I love the art

oh gosh, there was an attempt, a small one

i want to write these au, both hostile life and karmic loop; on parts where i can't elaborate more with drawings, where my capabilities as an artist limits me such vision. i want to pour it into words.

but i still feel that i lack the full characterization of the whole cast, especially for hostile life. i admit i don't watch the entire group's povs, i grasp bits of what's 'canonized' or 'fanonized' in the fandom, but i don't know them all good enough, and i feel like what i write would not do them justice. which is silly, i know, i should just put it into existence first rather than worrying about this. but i need more resonance and have yet to get that.

i can probably write a draft of the whole setting for the story, the lore and such; but when it comes to conversation and articulation, i lack the depth of their personalities. it would just be a lore and exposition dumping, rather than a proper story.

but also, on the other hand; i am more than happy to see other people's interpretations of these au, fanart or fanfic or anything. i'd love to get these au to have more discussions, more than just me yapping all the times

to think that i’ve reached the point where i’m proud enough with my art to show it to a lot of people irl (the biggest being to the company i interviewed for in japan, which has nothing to do with art), and i’ve also reached the point where i still like and find it satisfying to look at my art the next day or even way along the line. like i’m still satisfied with what i did yesterday.

this one thing reflects my entire action irl as well. i’m more confident than i was before. i communicate better. i’m no longer that shy kid in the back of the class—nervous at first time?? sure, but once i get comfortable, i really mingle with the bunch.

also to clarify, devil mumbo doesn’t play the game, but he can possess the players, influence the narratives. the actual devil mumbo exists in limbo, currently limited to the life series universe (and within all its timelines). seeking to hop to the other universes (hermitcraft), the real/original mumbo is aware of this and trying to rectify devil mumbo’s existence, not realizing that the more he act, the more power he feeds devil mumbo because essentially he is his quantum state. devil mumbo is inherently a part of mumbo all the same, a potential mumbo has yet to accept.

mumbo did all this because he was chasing grian’s shadows, without realizing that grian is chasing him all the time.

“mumbo no longer my only one in hc so i’ll have the mumbo in traffic” “i cannot have grian because he’s so torn in all these universes, i have to be like him to have him”

because grian focuses so much energy on life series mumbo, it gained more and more power and able to change the narratives. getting more sentience by each interaction, the fraction that looks back challenging its original.

but for real i love the despair vs hope motif with the story, the idea of selflessness and selfishness mirrorring each other with madoka and homura. karmic loop au is (tbh unbeknownst to me when i first thought of it) inspired by madomagi, in some elements. plus another bunch of doomed stories that i like
