Koichi’s eyes shifted between Weiss, Smile, and Kyouko. Right away, he had been able to sense the nervousness between the former two - thought he wasn’t really sure why it was. He was sure that he had’t done anything wrong? Maybe it was just his age, or the strong connection that he had with Kyouko that intimidated them. Regardless, he wanted to be able to get past this as quick as possible. He didn’t want them to be uneasy around him.

“Ah don’t worry Kyouko-chan~! Scouting is what I do best after all, and not just with people.” He gave her a reassuring smile. “Finding vantage points around this ruined city shouldn’t be hard at all. I have quite a bit of experience from the Future Foundation.”

❅ Weiss didn’t mind Smile loitering beside her- if anything, she found some comfort in the fact that he trusted her enough to gravitate towards her when she was feeling particularly antsy. She offered him a light ruffle of his hair as he whined about being denied the right to use the flare gun, a smile curving onto her features.

“I suppose I can take the role of looking around for things on the ground with Kyouko, then.” She said with a shrug. “This is rather similar to my orientation to Beacon Academy, sans the... being launched into the forest defenseless and running the risk of potentially being hurt or killed.” Kind of a downer, wasn’t she?

“If you see anything, holler, alright?”

Weiss turned to face her rag-tag team with a smile, eyes jumping from each member. The only unfamiliar person here was Kyouko’s uncle/father figure, Kizakura as he’d been introduced. She couldn’t deny there was some anxiety churning in her chest. Not because Kizakura seemed to be bad, of course, she was just... naturally strung up by the presence of unfamiliar men.

“Kyouko, I’m trusting you to keep a hold of the gun. Smile, you’re rather good at scouting, so you can keep an eye out for places we might not see at first glance.”

❅ Well! Certain death was no on Weiss’ to-do list. The talk of forming teams had her, initially, thinking she’d bounce back on teaming up with team RWBY- perhaps out of nostalgia- but she... ended up taking a turn for pairing up with Kyouko, and Smile. She was sure her team would be able to manage on their own- perhaps form new bonds. She’d be damned if Yang and Blake didn’t end up teaming up.

Ravaged  by illness, Kaito was weak. Legs, however, kept on moving. He continued the search for familiarity in this wasteland filled with shadows. No one he had found thus far was familiar. As he moved further inland, he spotted flowing silver silk that caught his attention. “Weiss?” He never met her formally, but he had spent enough time in her apartment to know her name. The regular hangout spot was the closest thing to regularity he had since being abducted. “One day you’re watchin’ Wall-E the next thing you know you’re in the damn movie.”

❅ The voice was familiar. The heiress paused mid-step and an actual sigh of relief passed her lips as she turned to see Kaito- someone who’d frequented her little movie get-togethers- instead of another dangerous man. His comment actually roused a short bout of laughter from the huntress, who stood up straight and properly approached him.

“Rather annoying, isn’t it? To be put in some strange city, plucked out of it, and placed into another.” She said with a haughty sniff and an upturn of her nose. That brief show of snootiness ended in a smile, a genuine one. “I’m glad you’re the one I ran into this time. You’re certainly a step above some maniac out for my head.” Her brows knit together in thought as she looked the astronaut up and down a few times.

“... Are you feeling alright?”
