Are My Little Pony & Care Bears related? (theory)

For seemingly the beginning of MLP:FiM, fans of these pastel colored ponies have pondered and speculated on who the parents of Celestia and Luna might’ve been. Now, while I don’t have a clear answer to offer for anyone who might’ve thought that I did, I can, however, provide what I think is pretty convincing evidence as to their (and ponykind in general)’ s ancestry. The animated series, comics, and chapter books, admittedly, don’t offer us much by way of explanation as to what g4 pre-Equestria’s founding was like. We get brief snippits told in “Hearth’s Warming Eve” of what life was like for the three tribes of earth, unicorn, and pegasus ponies before Equestria, but one thing stands out…ponies back then were the traveling sort…picking up and moving from place to place when their environs became in inhospitable.

Now, this nomadic lifestyle is far from anything new, for those who hold to the belief that the older generations of MLP share the same timeline and reality as g4. I do, so I’ll begin…well, at the beginning, with generation 1. In the g1 MLP movie “The End of Flutter Valley”, it’s mentioned that the ponies had come from somewhere else before settling into Dream Valley. Perhaps that valley eventually became the desolate land that we saw pre-Equestria’s founding with the three tribes. But let’s go back further still…..

To the Care Bear’s land of “Peaceful Valley”. Why Care Bears, you might be wondering? Well, both franchises of Care Bears and My Little Pony started off in 1981, but interestingly enough, in the Care Bears Franchise, one of the original Care Bears and co-founder of Care-a-Lot is shown to be “Noble Heart Horse” (along with his friend, True Heart, the bear). Noble Heart and his friend are shown to have lived in Peaceful Valley, before the events of the Care Bear Movie 2- so perhaps this valley may have been the origins of MLP’s ponies, and Noble Heart a very distant ancestor to our ponies. And find it most interesting, indeed, to see that Noble Heart Horse shares his mane color with one Sun Horse Princess, and a coat color to a de-powered, youthful Moon Horse Princess….take that as you will….

Additionally, before the Care Bear’s iconic “Belly Badges” were named as such, they were called “tummy symbols”, much like g1 MLP’s ponies had their “symbols” called as such, by collectors.

MLP g4 Fluttershy has the powers of “The Stare”- which is used to mentally manipulate creatures into carrying out her imposed will -The Care Bears also have this ability (which is called “Care Bear Stare”).

And on top of that, “Care-a-Lot” sounds an awful lot like “Canterlot”, the capital city of Equestria, and the hills where Celestia and Luna spent their childhood prior to Equestria’s founding. So perhaps this proves that little ponies and Care Bears are, in fact, very distant relatives?

FFN troubles??

Having a hard time logging into FFN... but not like... even logging in, 'cause I'm logged in. Just entering my account. I have two chapters to publish. ;-; Oh well...

Y'know, I should start publishing chapters of my story here... or at least, like, the covers.

Louder for the people in the back: When it's on the internet, IT'S THERE FOREVER.

There have been politicians richer than God that have poured insane amounts of money into erasing evidence of bad things about themselves from the internet but it just doesn't go away. Why? Because the internet is forever. (source: https://diginomica.com/1984-uk-politicians-erase-history-internet I'm aware it's a news site, sue me, but it's not completely off)

Please stay safe. Like I tell my younger sister about her impulsive spending habits: if you have something iffy you wanna post, put it in your cart (or in this case, your drafts), leave it, do something else for a few hours, and then come back. If you still think it's a good idea, then sure, maybe. But if you have the slightest thought of "Y'know..." then don't do it. It's better to be safe than sorry. If someone is pressuring you to post something about yourself (even just a "harmless" picture or throwaway info like your age) then that's a red flag.

Hey. Minors following me. Internet safety is key!! NEVER include these in your bio/byf:

Medical diagnoses - this is nobody's business but yours. You don't owe anyone an explanation for why you are the way that you are

Trauma - same reason as above

Triggers - people can use these against you! Don't give people tools to hurt you. No one has to know what tags you block. Just block tags to stay safe!

Age - age is okay for adults to include but is iffy when you're a teen. Predators want this information, don't give people more than they need. Just state that you're a minor, that's all that anyone needs to know.

In general: stay safe. If you're not comfortable with every stranger out there having access to this information, you shouldn't post it on the internet.

Play devil's advocate and ask yourself about what would happen if someone searched for your information with intent to hurt you. You do NOT owe anyone an explanation!

It puzzles me when people cite LOTR as the standard of “simple” or “predictable” or “black and white” fantasy. Because in my copy, the hero fails. Frodo chooses the Ring, and it’s only Gollum’s own desperation for it that inadvertently saves the day. The fate of the world, this whole blood-soaked war, all the millennia-old machinations of elves and gods, comes down to two addicts squabbling over their Precious, and that is precisely and powerfully Tolkien’s point. 

And then the hero goes home, and finds home a smoking desolation, his neighbors turned on one another, that secondary villain no one finished off having destroyed Frodo’s last oasis not even out of evil so much as spite, and then that villain dies pointlessly, and then his killer dies pointlessly. The hero is left not with a cathartic homecoming, the story come full circle in another party; he is left to pick up the pieces of what was and what shall never be again. 

And it’s not enough. The hero cannot heal, and so departs for the fabled western shores in what remains a blunt and bracing metaphor for death (especially given his aged companions). When Sam tells his family, “Well, I’m back” at the very end, it is an earned triumph, but the very fact that someone making it back qualifies as a triumph tells you what kind of story this is: one that is too honest to allow its characters to claim a clean victory over entropy, let alone evil. 

“I can’t recall the taste of food, nor the sound of water, nor the touch of grass. I’m naked in the dark. There’s nothing–no veil between me and the wheel of fire. I can see him with my waking eyes.”

So where’s this silly shallow hippie fever-dream I’ve heard so much about? It sounds like a much lesser story than the one that actually exists.

Irritates the hell out of me when people respond to a post or comment like, "everyone does this, it's not just [disorder/illness/neurotype], it's called being a person."

Yeah and everyone coughs once in a while but it doesn't mean someone with pneumonia doesn't cough?? It doesn't mean pneumonia doesn't cause coughing??

Everyone gets dizzy once in a while but it doesn't mean vertigo doesn't exist??

Just about every symptom or group-common trait is going to be experienced by people who don't belong to those groups or have that disorder. It's about the frequency and intensity with which that symptom or trait comes up.

holy shit watch out for the words

"dog" is a later model of the DCA, part of a group that was mass-produced for a short period. he uses the same base code & design, but he's lost the majority of his original characteristics from repeated rebuilds and heavy modding. he's a heel for a bot fighting ring.

once made for much lighter showbiz, dog uses his loud announcer's voice to hype up fights and taunt the audience. his job is to make them hate him, it's all part of the show.

outside of the ring, all that put-on energy and bravado vanishes. sirius avoids talking and direct eye-contact, his pupils always looking up and away in any direction other than the person who's addressing him. it tends to give him a sneering, sarcastic look, even if the rest of his face is entirely immobile. his passive-aggressive remarks and constant deflections don't help.

he's an antagonist(*?) in a fic im working on, but its not in any kind of presentable state yet. i'll be honest. its dca/reader. my bad
