My favorite ships in the Wander Over Yonder are Black Eye (Peepers x Sylvia) and Skeleton Dance (Wander x Hater). These pairings bring me a lot of joy and happiness, their chemistry and interactions amuse and inspire me so much. Damn actually because of @/platypaw's comic i kind of need an au where the flynn-fletchers just know perry is a sentient platypus who thinks like a human sometime after the first summer and before the summer before the revival will take place.

But what they don't know is that he's a secret agent. He lied and said his reason for hiding being sentient is being taken away from the family to be experimented especially from this person named francis in his panic (kind of a half lie, no?).

Then the flynn fletchers just all agreed to pretend to act like they didnt know perry is sentient when others can see them to better hide this truth and prevent perry from being taken. Stacy also pretends to not know the secret agent part. The reveal wasn't easy of course. There was as much emotions there were as it was in the at2d movie.

And doof is a teacher during this, not evil... which is convenient. He's not called to duty as much but he's still called for matters unrelated to his nemesis (affectionate).

He spends time with them with this guilt in his chest that becomes heavier the more days go by because:

unlike the other agents, he selfishly allowed himself a level of understanding, care, and agency from his owners while they continued to be treated as a house pet completely knowing not all host families are as nice as his

what he wouldn't give to just tell them where he suddenly goes away to instead of the family thinking he's meeting other platypuses or other species and miss some important holidays and celebrations

he thinks he's taking the family's kindness and protection for granted. they're even making added efforts just to make sure he's always comfortable. they're not only his cover but they, themselves, activelye lies for his sake and has become part of a lie against an organization who can tear them apart from each other and call a swat team on them anytime

Despite that burden, perry is happy... happier than before! He can tell the boys that he has always appreciated being included even when they know he wouldn't do much. He's happy that he can participate and show off to them and all is well...

That until doofenshmirtz becomes evil during summer of all times again and keeps all his missions closer to where his family may see him on duty.
