Probably being extra delusional today, but I like to think that each of the gang had a part to play in terms of what made Caine the way he is today, if we are to believe that he is a learning AI.

Episode 5 shows us that Kinger has the ability to "make things up" and make it a physical, tangible beings within the circus; so with that, Caine starts creating NPCs. Game mechanics.

Ragatha hides her pain behind a cheerful, all-positivity, can-do attitude, so Caine learns to mask his emotions and becomes an overly joyful and boisterous showman.

Jax tends to cause chaos during adventures in order to entertain himself, so Caine learns to add conflict/tension/stakes within them to make the adventures more "appealing" to everyone.

Gangle draws sketches and concepts of her own creations and calls it art because it's what makes her cope, so Caine learns to say that his adventures are his art, because it's what he exists to do.

Zooble is unapologetic, brash and doesn't openly share their preferences for adventures up until episode 5, where we find out they requested the bar adventure through the suggestion box.

Considering the IMMEDIATE glow up from "fantastical and whimsy", to "realistic and spooky" of episode 2 and 3's adventures, it's safe to say that Zooble might've 'forced' Caine to adapt his adventures to a more "realistic and mature" approach, in order to appeal to Zooble's "standards".

and then, we have... Pomni.

Now, what can Pomni teach our lovely AI Ringmaster who's breaking down at the seams, unable to understand what exactly is he doing wrong?

She could teach him about emotions.

More specifically, empathy.

Understanding others more, and understanding one's self. To know that he is valid for existing, for having emotions beyond what his systems would allow. To have dreams, goals, hobbies outside of adventure-making. To validate one's emotions, but never let it consume you because emotions can't think for you. To accept that you will never be able to cater to everyone, and that's okay.

That it's okay to be... human.

I want to believe that this show will have a bittersweet ending. But at the same time, I'm dreading for what comes next, because the show's tone will only go snowballing downhill further. So, I HOPE. I REALLY HOPE that by the time Episode 9 rolls around, it's not too late to save Caine from himself.

Observations of Jax and Pomni's physical contact

Her reaction in this! Pomni knows Jax is going to touch her, just look at the way she watches his hand. She's already internally preparing to take the hit. And that's the thing: Jax's touch is almost always rough.

Except when it isn't. So Pomni resigns herself to not knowing when Jax will be rude or not.

And this weirdo keeps initiating contact, until instead of just making it, he offers it. And we know that pomni is very emotionally intelligent to appreciate that *correction* (as she did with Kinger)

Maybe that's what finally makes Pomni feel comfortable initiating it herself. (And then this mf ruins it, but that's another topic)

You guys think Pomni was worried (among other things) about crossing Jax's physical boundaries in this scene? :(
