because both fuuta and amane has a headwear with the cult insignia, mikoto was given a mourning veil to match. a mourning veil since he is grieving a loss and to represent that he is now a shell of the person he was once.

clothes were altered to be more 'proper' (e.g. jeans being switched to dress pants. his prisoner uniform is a new untorn version, which he can request due to his innocent verdict

Let’s all ignore the fact i was too lazy for a background

to any people who consider themselves "Middle Eastern" (which I'm aware is a generalization of an area that doesn't really fit into that category, however, because it's a forced label, there are people who unify under it to identify as it):

A local black student union near ish to me is having a ball that is themed "Arabian Nights". One of the advertisement things they say is "the magic of the Middle East". This seems ... Orientalist and racist to me. The "mystification" and generalization of an ENTIRE huge group of people, and also lumping them as Arabic.

However, I really don't know how to feel or what I should think of the theme. I don't want to conclude it's racist without the input of middle eastern people and, on top of that, it's being led and organized by the black student union, so I don't want to fall prey to being highly critical or assume the worst possible intentions from the union as they are made up and led by black students. Of course marginalized races are susceptible to racism, but, as a group that is highly about anti racism, I feel hesitant to say they would so easily to something that falls into racist territory.

I absolutely don't think it's out of anything malicious but maybe awkward phrasing or internalized things?

IDK basically, do I have any middle eastern or black or both followers with input on this? As far as I know no middle eastern or Arabic students helped organize the ball, but I'd have to ask
