Ok so I have a couple of different wine tasting souvenir glasses from doing wine tastings with family when they're together. I just want to say this as a general PSA. If you're a wine tasting organization, looking at the glasses and trying to figure out which one to put your logo on... It's gonna be really obvious that you chose the smallest possible glass to put your logo on for everyone who takes a wine glass home. Being the winery with the smallest possible tasting glass is NOT a claim to fame. I have literally, mentally, combined the winery with the exceptionally tiny glass as "organization that will give you as little as they legally can". I don't even drink much. I guess this has little impact for this winery specifically. But your wine tasting has convinced me that I should not buy a glass of wine unless I want significantly less than usual. I beg of wine tasting organizers to consider that this tiny, tiny wineglass is the only thing apart from memory that I'll actually have to remember the entirety by.

Does this mean the word liminal is currently liminal?
the semantic drift of the term "liminal" genuinely pisses me off and i know its petty. LIMINAL IS A TRANSITIONAL STAGE BETWEEN TWO STATES- OR. IF WE WANT TO WIDEN THE BOUNDARY HERE. IT COULD BE ON THE VERY EDGE OF BECOMING SOMETHING ELSE. just because something is abandoned doesn't mean its liminal. in fact, that shopping mall was MORE liminal when it was dying off and shutting down outlets every month than it is 5 years later when the space is fully abandoned.

As a child we were shown how to turn on Safe Search on Google and I kept that shit on for YEARS. like, way longer than you're thinking. It's actually pretty simple to stay away from adult content if you're trying.
My current not-approved-by-the-government opinion is that im not anyone's parent and i should not be responsible for random teenagers online. If I post smth thats 'meant for adults' and its labled as such then what happens from there is literally not my problem. If a teen- who is fully capable of turning on self moderation settings on their own btw- doesn't use a site's provided self moderation settings and they see boobs or dicks then like literally whatever, its neither the end of the world or a big deal. It shouldn't fall on me or a website or a tech company to do a parent's job, and also frankly i don't think a parent should be breathing down their 16 year old's neck on the off chance they do actually want to look at tits, but thats a discussion that americans will fucking throw a fit at so maybe we'll discuss that another day in better company.
"But what about young children!!" see thats! where parents should be involved- that is to say, why are you letting your young child on the internet in the first place, you fucking idiot.

Rich guy: I'm gonna give to the poor!
The church: wtf no you give money to US. Then we decide how much (if any) goes to the poor. Is this your first day or smth?
there's a jewish story about a rich man who goes to his rabbi to ask him about building an orphanage, and the rabbi is like "yeah duh go for it!!" and then later the rich guy comes back and is like "actually I've decided not to... I was just doing it for my own image and not coz I cared about orphans" and the rabbi was like "bitch the orphans don't care why you're building the orphanage!!!" and sometimes I wish I could say that to lefties who haven't unpacked their christian upbringing. sometimes motives don't matter!! who give a fuck why a politician wants to do a good thing? bitch the orphans don't!!

If you say something to someone with dementia and someone who doesn't listen, did you really even say it?

This made me actually, literally spit laughing.
Everytime i see people draw or portray Nick Valentine to be this oh-so attractive and seductive synth I always can’t help but giggle a little bit because he always looks like he’s about to throw up but is trying to be very brave about it

Regularly torn between "this hyperfixation is too intense and I need to tone it down so I can do the rest of the life things and not be distracted 100% of the time" and "this overwhelming hyperfixation is the only thing giving me the will to continue living"

Imagine you played an RPG that you absolutely loved for its crazy plot and mechanics and story and worldbuilding. Imagine, twenty-one years later, they finally release the sequel. Now imagine that they announce, when they finally drop the release date, a T W E N T Y - T W O D O L L A R DLC in order to play different characters. Now realize you don't need to imagine because it's Vampire the Masquerade Bloodlines 2
#wild that the games not even out yet#they've literally only released the release date#and I'm already like “welp guess this one's just going to be a cheap ass money grab”

honestly i never thought the phrase “i want that twink obliterated” was like a sexual thing. like when i read the phrase i imagine “a meteor like the one that killed the dinosaurs is summoned from the heavens and hits the twink in question” type situation

I think, in the end, Deadpool is something many of us want; for the world to do its ordinary maiming of our lives while we look at our friends and laugh, cuz that's some crazy shit happening over there and oh, whoops, looks like that's my life in the mangle right now! Lol. Whoops. Ain't life a kick in the head.

my safe clothing items that I wear day in day out for years and years should never break or rip or wear down. the power of friendship should stop that kind of thing
#wtf it worked in Arthur#are you telling me this children's show FOR CHILDREN didn't prepare me for how life was going to work in it's infinite complexity???#this is both 100% serious and 100% ironic and I'm sorry if you can't fathom that

So happy for my sisters in India!! I'm glad the government told you the same thing you've been feeling your whole life! You're allowed! You exist! And just to be clear if they change their minds I won't!!!! You're still allowed!! You still exist!!!! With or w/o any gender affirming care!!! You're still you!!!! Despite everything, it's still you!!! And you're enough!!! You're perfect!!!!!! And if you decide to change something, you're still perfect!!! Omg!!! Crazy!!! Still perfect 🥰🥰🥰

Been watching this basically non-stop since 6th grade eogs in 2011? Maybe? And yeah. Just now. I can't tell you how many times I've read and/or watched it.
At the end of The Princess Bride, when Inigo tells Westley he doesn't know what to do with himself now that he's not in the revenge business anymore, and Westley tells him he'd be a wonderful Dread Pirate Roberts?
The name of Dread Pirate Roberts' ship is The Revenge. Which means Inigo still gets to be in The Revenge business.
I have been watching this movie since I was at least five years old, and I never made the connection until now. (Feel free to tell me you all saw it long ago.)

"don't you want to live in an era where the music matches your taste?"
Fuck no, I want to live in the era where cute and emotionally sensitive Deadpool nursed Peter back to health and released him into the wild only to realize he made an oopsie.
darn it

Was not allowed to eat lunch outside until AFTER I had graduated high school.
i feel like high school/middle school sitcoms set the unrealistic expectation of being able to have lunch time outside
