コンクリート・ポエトリー

日本語では『視覚詩」という枠組みに入ったりします。

『17世紀にはジョージ・ハーバートによる「春の翼」という作品が発表されている。その後、ステファヌ・マラル���の「賽の一擲」やギヨーム・アポリネールの「カリグラム」、E・E・カミングス、エズラ・パウンドらがコンクリート・ポエトリーの基礎を作っていった。』

『1953年にE.ゴムリンガー (Eugen Gomringer) が『星座』を発表、マックス・ビルの「Konkrete Kunst」の理念の影響下、「Konkrete Dichtung」を打ちだし、コンクリート・ポエトリーという概念を打ち立てた。

またゴムリンガーとともに、ブラジルのノイガンドレス派のデシオ・ピニアタリ、オウグスト・デ・カンポス、アロルド・デ・カンポスらが56年にそのような詩的実験を「コンクリート」と呼ぶことに同意し、コンクリート・ポエトリーは国際的な運動へと導かれることになる。』

1950年代、ドイツとブラジルで同時に、コンクリート・ポエトリーのブームが起きたようです。グラフィックデザイン、詩、アートのスタイルが密接に合流するおもしろいムーブメントであり、日本にも専門雑誌が刊行され、活発であった様子。

本書は、2016年刊行。Elizabeth Lebonの詳しい情報がなく、パブリッシャーに確認したいところです。ただ、作品を見る限り、現代的な感覚であり、パンクのエスプリが漂います。ちょうどこの前、1950年以降の女性詩人によるコンクリートポエトリーを収録した作品集が刊行されたこともあり、現在にてコンクリポエトリーを製作する注目したいアーティストです。

わたしたちも、このアーティストブックを探求し、散策しているとも言えます。本書にて、アーティスト自身は、小鳥をターゲットにしていますが、あるいは、鑑賞者自身が別のターゲットを見つけるのかもしれません。こんなふうに、つきない好奇心が湧き、また消え、ある日、突然、ふと思い出すのかもしれません。

ゾフィー・アンリエット・ゲルトルード・トイバー＝アルプは、スイスの芸術家、画家、彫刻家、テキスタイルデザイナーおよびダンサーとして活動した。20世紀のコンクリート・アートおよび幾何学的抽象芸術家の中で最も重要な芸術家の一人と見なされる。

1916年頃から1920年代にかけてのテキスタイルおよびグラフィック作品は、ピエト・モンドリアンやカジミール・マレーヴィチらの作品と並ぶ最古の構成主義作品である。

1920年代後半よりパリに住み、ソニア・ドローネー、ロベール・ドローネー、ワシリー・カンディンスキー、ジョアン・ミロ、マルセル・デュシャンらと、ロシア構成主義のレビュー「Plastique(Plastic)」を設立し、非具象芸術の旗手として活動した。

1940年に、ナチス占領前にパリから逃れて南フランスのグラースに移り住み、ソニア・ドローネーらと共に芸術村を作り上げた。

2012年か2013年の東京アートブックフェアー（わたしはNievesをアシストしていた）のとき、ダンとジャスティーヌが「来週はニューヨークアートブックフェアだ」と言う。彼らの話を聞いているうちに、来年はNYABFへ行こうと決心した。実際にウェブマガジンに小さな記事を書くと言う名目で、NYABFに翌年行くことができた。NYABFの間はずーっと会場にいて本を探し、友達にhiと挨拶したりしていた。全然退屈なんかすることなく、めちゃくちゃ楽しかった。自分がアジアの辺地から、東京からやって来た小人のように思えた。だってあのエネルギッシュなニューヨークのパワー！全てが強烈だった。だけど、なんだか自分の居場所のように快適だった。ダンとジャスティヌの言っていたことは本当だった。ありがとう！

Perimeter Editionsの新刊を手にする機会に恵まれていた。毎年、どんどん面白くなっていくのに興奮を覚えた。アートブックとしてブックデザインやコンセプトも考えられてつくられていくのが目に見えてわかった。どうか友人たちへ、彼らの本に��注目を（リッキー・スワローだけじゃない。メルボルンのカルチャーやアートを想像できないとしても、彼らのパッションや活動にもっと注目して！）。

Dan and Justine said ”Next weekend, we’re in New York Art book Fair !” in Tokyo Art Book Fair around 2012 or 2013. Listening to their talk; how is great NYABF and New York, I decided to go there next year. Getting a small reporting job for a web magazine, actually I visited NYC and NYABF next year. During my first NYABF, almost all day I was looking for books and said hi to my friends. Never bored and I was so exciting for 4days. That vibes in NYC and NYABF! I was surprised... I was a small girl from Tokyo, Asia...but I felt something my place. I mean great and comfortable. Anyway It was true what Dan and Justine said. Thank you for your recommendation!

I’ve had good chances to look new titles published by Perimeter Editions. Their publications are more and more amazing every year. They have been thought about book design and concept as an art book. Those book’s construction have made us amazing every time. Dear my friends, please take a look at their publications from Melbourne!

10年以上前、アパートから２分くらいのところに本屋があった。スーパーの買い物のついでだとか遊びのあとや学校帰りにYvon Lambert Bookshopによっていた。１時間くらい居座って、ただ読んだりチェックしたりしていた。ブックショップはブックショップで図書館じゃないんだけど。ブリュノは「あの人よく来るな、何にも買わないな、変だ」と思っていたに違い。 どういうわけか、今では、私たちはフィリップ・ワイズベッカーだとかの本についてチャットしたり、東京やパリでご飯を食べたりする。ブリュノの美人奥さんも一緒に。 Yvon Lambert Bookshopで本を買うのは楽しい。なんといっても、あのビニールバッグ！『最高にいいものと最悪によくないものが一緒に一つのバッグの中』といい感じにプリントされているあのビニールバッグ。デイビット・シュリグリー作。(その”ショッパー”はもう使っていないかもしれない...）

More 10 years ago, a bookshop was 2 mins on foot from my apartment. After supermarket, rendez-vous, the school... I was often dropping in at Librairie Yvon Lambert. Just I was only reading and checking some books for around one hour. The bookshop is a bookshop not a library, though. Bruno must have thought that woman over there came here often but she didn’t buy...something odd. For some reason, lately we have chatted about the books by Nathalie du Pasquier, Philippe Weisbecker...etc and caught up in Tokyo or Paris with his beautiful femme.  I like buying books at Yvon Lambert Bookshop. That plastic bag ! It was printed, “THE GREATEST THINGS AND THE WORST THINGS TOGETHER IN ONE BAG”. By David Shrigley ?

ある日マイク・ミルズが東京にあるブックショップにやってきた。友人たちやガールフレンドと一緒に（今ほど街に外国人がいなくて、こんなに洗練された外国人は見たことがなかった、そう見えた）。 数ヶ月後、マイク・ミルズ”Humans”のエキシビジョンが開催されることにな���た。そこはわたしが働いていたブックショップだった。初めてNievesを知ったのはこのエキシビジョンが本になったMike Millsのだった。一緒に売っていた。仕事後、家に帰って、Nievesのサイトを見た。心臓がドキドキした。とても感激した。こんなにインディペンデントな出版社を見たことがなかった。なんだか、すごい友達がきた！みたいな気分だった（ほんとうに連絡しようか迷ったけれど、畏れ多く勇気がなかった。10年後初めて実際に会ったとき、マイク・ミルズより若い男性だったことに衝撃を受けた。もっと世代が上の人だと思っていた）。ベンジャミンは10年以上ずっとアーティストブックやジンを作り続けている。ずっと。今日も。 みんなNievesに夢中。

One day Mike Mills, his friends and his girlfriend visited a bookshop in Tokyo. A couple of months later, Mike Mills exhibition “Humans” started there, where I worked. At first time I met Nieves, there. It was Mike Mill’s. After the work, I checked Nieves web site in home. My heart was beating and thrilling very much. I had never seen such a very independent publisher. For me, somehow... as if it was a new and cool friend (I was making cheap zines at that time). For more 10 years, Benjamin has published zines and artists' books. He has continued. Today too.  Everybody loves Nieves.

Q: Could you introduce a little bit of your book “An error has occurred” ? A (Rohan Hutchinson): The book is the documentation of a protest art project. Created last year during an expedition to the arctic, the body of work looks at climate change and it’s impact on the Arctic landscape.  The project was created to bring awareness to climate change as a global issue. Q: What turns you on creatively, spiritually or emotionally？ A: As most of my projects are presented in book form I’m always getting inspiration from small press publication, along with this photo installations that explore the natural and built environments such as the works from Hiroshi Takizawa, Takashi Kawashima and Dan Holdsworth. They bring so much inspiration and ideas. Q: What turn you off ? A: People not thinking outside the box. Q: When and where do yo work ? A: I’m based in Melbourne Australia, most of my photographing is either the Arctic, Canada or Japan. Q: Tea or coffee ? A: Coffee. Q: Coffee or alcohol ? A: Alcohol. Q: What did you have for lunch ?
