The reason why politicians don't institute UBI or free housing is not *only* based on conservative values. It's not because they don't know it would be better for the economy. It's because the threat of homelessness and starvation are a cudgel they can use to beat the working class into submission.

They *know* that it would be better for everyone, and they don't want that. They want the power to oppress and control others.

I recently had surgery, and at the time I came home, I had both my cat and one of my grandma's cats staying with me.

- Within hours of surgery, I wake up from a nap to my cat gently sniffing at my incisions with great alarm.

- I was not allowed to shower the first day after surgery, and the cats, seeing that The Large Cat is not observing its cleaning ritual, decided I must be gravely disabled and compensated by licking all the exposed skin on my arms, face, and legs.

- I currently have to sleep with a pillow over my abdomen because my cat insists on climbing on top of me and covering my incisions with her body while I sleep (which is very sweet but not exactly comfortable without the pillow). She also lays across me facing my bedroom door, presumably on guard for attackers who may try to harm me while I'm sleeping and injured.

ok I just wanna say if you see a kink on tumblr or wherever that really turns u on and then you try it irl and it doesn’t make u feel the way you hoped it would THATS OK!! i cannot emphasise enough how much you need to create something. anything. it doesn't matter if you suck. you don't need to monetise it, or make it your career. you can restart an old hobby; you can start from scratch. it doesn't matter. you just need to hold something and be able to say "i did that". baking, drawing, painting, writing, coding, crafts, whatever. make something ! you cannot have all your hobbies be a form of consumption. it's fun, it's great in its own right. but the single best action to make yourself feel better, to calm your mind, to gain self esteem, is to Create

Frustrating thing about tumblr is its not mandatory to see timestamps on posts. If you arent using them in this day and age, youre at risk of not understanding the context of a post or that the information on it may be out of date. I dont think this will reach a wide audience but if you dont have timestamps enabled go to your general settings->dashboard settings and turn timestamps on so you can see when a post written like it’s breaking news is actually from 2017.
