LeyeT â Long Way
LA-based LeyeT (pronounced Light if youâre talking to your friends about this track) returns with intricate new single âLong Wayâ, am absolute gem from this fast-rising artist.
"This is a song that captures exactly what Iâm feeling right now. It is me being honest and vulnerable with where Iâm atâŚsomething that I always strive to be in my songwriting," explains LeyeT. "This past year, Iâve been in a season of joy, independence and freedomâŚitâs been amazing really. Now, with the thought of loving someone else again/dating crossing my mind, Iâve found the thought of it a bit scary to think about (haha). This song plays on that emotion and point in time - the moment where youâre toying with those thoughts again, realizing maybe youâre not quite ready to jump into love again, or if you areâŚ.maybe youâd prefer to take the long way?"

Toulouse â Hurtin
New York-based artist Toulouse has shared âHurtinâ, the latest track to be released from his Extended Plea EP. Written and produced by Toulouse, âHurtinâ marries the artistâs mesmerising vocal with impeccable production â a completely captivating mix of old-school showmanship and future-facing craftsmanship.Â
"Hurtin' is a simple song about thorough self-reflection about...you guessed it...hurting. Not a specific event, but the mindset that a lot of us can be slave to. It can be like walking around with a perpetual ache,â said Toulouse. âThere is a continuum present with the last song I put out "Reach Out". Meaning I am doing the work of being aware of, investigating and ultimately accepting that I be radically honest with myself even if I am staring at a grotesque image on the other side. It's half the battle of being a better person."
Born in Nigeria, Toulouse is a self-taught musician who, in part, secured a place at the Clive Davis Institution at NYU by singing down the phone to the acceptance committee as he didnât have a camera on his computer. He has since amassed millions of streams, toured with Banks and featured on the soundtrack of 50 Shades Darker.
Extended Plea will be released via Terrible Records on 15 September.
Tracklist:
1. Reach Out 2. San Junipero 3. So I Know You Care 4. Hurtin 5. Here & Now 6. Man From Pennsylvania 7. It Is Well 8. Found Â

WWWater â Pink Letters
We waxed pretty lyrical about WWWater when she dropped her debut track and weâll make no apologies for being equally gushing about the follow-up âPink Lettersâ. WWWater has a presence like no other with a vocal that will ensnare you from the start.
In the canon of contemporary break-up songs, âPink Lettersâ sits high up there but rather than looking back and dwelling on pain, the track looks to the future and whatâs to come. The title refers to a page in her diary in which she detailed heart-breaking events and resolved to move ahead. The pink writing on the page becoming a tool to fight loneliness and depression.
WWWater will release her debut EP in September.

Weâve commissioned ambitious plays that reach out to embrace the audience, and weâve built an environment for them that is exciting, welcoming and flexible: a theatre that can be changed to suit the show. We reckon that London needs new theatres, designed for the shows that people make in the 21st century and the expectations that audiences have for a really good night out.â

London is a brilliant city for making and seeing theatre, evidenced by the 25% increase in audiences over the last fifteen years. The legendary Vince Clarke (Depeche Mode, Yazoo and Erasure) has been let loose on Bright Light Bright Lightâs âRunning Back To Youâ which appeared on 2016âs Choreography. The resulting remix is a suitably anthemic, â80s tinged epic. Weâd expect nothing less. Â

Gulp, the Cardiff-based group comprised of Guto Pryce and Lindsey Leven, have shared the hypnotic Django Django remix of âSearch For Your Loveâ. Discussing the remix, Dave Maclean of Django Django said:Â "When I first heard this track, it cast my mind back to Radio 4 program I'd been listening to. Gallant x Tablo x Eric Nam â Cave Me In
LAâs Gallant makes a very welcome return in 2017 with new track âCave Me Inâ, a collaboration with South Korean stars Eric Nam and Tablo. Gallant has a voice and a presence that grabs you from the first bar, seemingly at ease in every musical style and this low-key jam is no exception.
Discussing the track, Gallant said: "When we all met for the first time, our energy just clicked-- and that synergy manifested itself into this record."
Tablo of Epik High had this to say: "Feelin' blessed to be a part of this beautiful song. With my verse, I wanted to talk about the inherent double-bladed nature of love. As the title of the song implies, love is often simultaneously gentle and violent. Hope it hits close to home for ya."

Zuzu â What You Want
The first song that we properly love of 2017 has arrived in the form of Zuzuâs infinitely catchy new single âWhat You Wantâ alongside some I Heart Huckabees inspired visuals. Zuzu has a rough-around-the-edges charm that we canât get enough of. Earnest and raw, she articulates emotional confusion better than almost anyone.

âWhat You Wantâ is now and released by Hand In Hive.

Cloves â Better Now
Australiaâs Cloves has shared her first new music in a year and itâs a searing exploration of the complexities of a relationship. Written in February alongside long-time collaborator Justin Parker (Banks, Bat For Lashes), âBetter Nowâ is a stripped back production thatâs beautiful in its rawness. The track articulates that heady cocktail of vulnerability and freedom you experience when you  truly express yourself.
"I swear that I'm better now is written almost sarcastically, to move the conversation on. I had given up trying to talk about how I was feeling and instead started distancing myself. The lyrics touch on the internal conflict I was having about weighing up if a long term relationship was still working, the back and forth between obligation to someone and the desire to be alone.â
Cloves debut album is expected to be released in 2017. Sheâll play the new Omeara London venue on Thursday 9 Feb 2017.
