quick Heads Up: Rogue Trader is very similar to Baldurs Gate 3 insofar as it serves as an introduction into the franchise for folks with no previous knowledge of DnD/Warhammer. You can 100% go in totally blind, but some stuff will be a bit more impactful if you've some prior knowledge. Combat is turn-based and pretty forgiving of mistakes on lower difficulties. It's incredibly text heavy, so make sure to adjust the on-screen text to a comfortable size before diving in.

An Unhelpful Guide to the Silmarillion

This was inspired by all of the unhelpful guides to Kpop groups, I hope this is as fun to watch as it was to make

this is a small comic idea i had about maedhros and fingon as kids and i rly wanted to draw it out! i think that is fingon the oldest of fingolfin/finarfin’s kids and thus the only one of the bunch for a while, so it was interesting to think that fingolfin would initially tell him to stay away from uncle feanor’s boys before loosening up in later years

but srsly tho i love the relationships that finwe’s grandkids have with each other so i wanna do more exploring of that! i didnt know if i should post the comic one panel at a time and decided to do it all at once, so i hope it doesn’t look too convoluted now that it’s posted 😬 

BONUS: returning to fingolfin + a pretty chill anaire

i’ve started planning some similar comics about maglor and elrond, or maedhros in thangorodrim, so if there’s any you think i should do first feel free to suggest!

oh another point about Incredibly Petty Actions Just To Spite Fingolfin - female elves are clearly excluded from the succession (Findis and Lalwen anyone?) and hey idk how elf fucking works, they seem to only have kids when they want to, maybe they can control the gender of the pregnancy they’re making. My point is. Fëanor had seven sons specifically to make Fingolfin ninth in line, which is doubly petty considering Finwë is immortal and doesn’t need that many heirs anyway.

I mean, yes, that is absolutely delightfully petty, and also explains why Curufin was so set on getting married and having a son.

Alternate interpretation: Everyone wants to have a daughter. Fingolfin and Finarfin have Aredhel and Galadriel, and so they decide to stop there and not have any more kids.

Fëanor and Nerdanel, however, keep trying, and trying, and trying even more, but at some point one of them decides that it’s enough. They have seven kids, it’s already a new world record, and they’re starting to run out of baby names that don’t contain ominous foreshadowing.

i like to think maedhros was the one who initially taught maglor music until he became mr-prodigy-among-the-noldor and mae went “well DAMN ok then :c”, but that the bond they share is one kept solid by the same music they played and sang as kids, even centuries later when everyone else is gone…

Sometimes when Finrod doesn't pay attention to Maedhros and Fingon talking, he braids flowers into their hair(and spills apple juice but don't tell them).

A Meeting with Mother

i had the draft for this comic since january, but i finally had time to actually try and finish! but since it’s so old, ive actually changed my characterisation of nerdanel a little, plus nelyo here has no scars which im still bummed about bweh. still, it was fun to do!! i have some plans for some annatar/tyelpe comics next, but we’ll see how long that takes me to finish 💃
