Sunset had been staring at the humanoid for some kind, wielding some kind of stick.
This was her neighbor, she guessed. Supposedly. Were all of them like this? Not a single other pony or creature from Equestria?
It would just be her luck. However, her focus had honed in on the object the humanoid was wielding around. A stick. Just... a stick, from what she could tell.
Perhaps it was some kind of arcane object...? That was the only guess she could make, as she blinked and squinted at the
"No," she said, as he her snout wrinkled. Gingerly, she used one hoof to tilt the stick back and forth, before picking it up with the hoof. Yep. Just as she thought. Nothing but a normal stick. Nothing special about that at all.. She tossed it aside a second later without another thought to it, instead turning her attention to the... human, unable to hide the spark of curiosity in her gaze.
"What were you practicing?" She said, tilting her head with a frown. "You can't exactly use a stick as a weapon." Even if that was her only guess to what the human may have been trying to utilize it for.
@vesperradiance
It's one thing to lose the dagger - and, don't get Rook wrong, she is pissed about losing the dagger, but at least that was... confiscated? Wherever it is, she can find it, that's what she means. 'Stealing it back' doesn't count as stealing, not really, cause she was the original owner and all that ( an argument that only holds up if you choose not to get into technicalities, in this case, but an argument nonetheless ).
But magic? How do you lose magic? It's a part of her, this... thing she was born with, an instinct. You can't steal that. ...Can you? Maybe if she were Bellara ( with her carefully crafted spells woven like intricate machinery ) or Emmrich ( who definitely paid attention during school ) she could explain why she feels no pull in her blood when she lifts a hand to the sky, why no sparks jump to her fingertips when she wills it ( and, boy, does she try to will it ), but she can't. She just knows that, too, is gone.
And yeah, she's also pretty pissed about that.
It's not as if it's just a matter of not trying hard enough to make it work again. Presently Rook stands in the meager front yard of the townhome she's been assigned to, lashing out with a... well, a stick, because she doesn't exactly have the dagger to channel her spells with, but she's always felt it was more about the action itself than the object. Maybe she was wrong? Because all the slashing and spinning and flinging she's doing isn't working one bit, and she's only aware of how stupid she must look ( it's a cooler display on a battlefield when there's lightning to go with it, okay, she swears ) when she realizes one of her... neighbors? Maybe? Has emerged from the house next door.
Her neighbor who kind of looks like a tiny horse. So that's cool.
"Oh." She should probably stop staring. "Sorry. I was just - is this stick yours? You can have it back." She lamely tosses it over into the adjacent yard. "I was... practicing something, and it was... uh, never mind. Wasn't really working out, anyway."
#nogreater#nogreater — 1#i'm so sorry she's humanoid racist. she sees a humanoid and nods and say ah yes.#human category.#just assumes maybe some of them have pointy ears

This world was not made for ponies. That much had been clear from the start.
Sunset Shimmer had expected a lot of things when she had decided to break the castle this morning and earn her rightful place back by finding the secrets of the mirror. What she hadn't expected was to be sucked into another world altogether before she had even touched the mirror.
She wanted to go home. This was not home. Not at all. She flicked her tail irritably as she stomped down the path of this place, trying to hide her confusion and distress under a veil of anger. [She wasn't sure how well she was succeeding in this regard].
A make shift bag sat on her haunches instead of the traditional saddlebags used by many ponies, where she had stowed the key and the gifted small device she had been given which... she hadn't figured out how to use quite yet. They didn't exactly appear to be She hadn't interacted yet with another of these... two-legged creatures [which were quite different from minotaurs, at least from what she could tell] beyond the one who had greeted her, which she had been curt to, at best.
If she had her way, she wouldn't interact with them at all. She needed to be able to get her magic back. That was her first priority. Messing around and talking with others would only slow her down.
Of course, that wouldn't be her luck. One of them was staring at her oddly. The longer he stared at her, the more uncomfortable she became, ears splaying against her head. Sunset found herself grateful when he finally turned away. Good. They could both get back to their business then.
Except he then did something with his— hands. She was sure the terminology was hands, from what little she knew.
Her expression morphed from her rightful anger to more confusion a she took in the sight. "Is that... some secret hookshake?" She frowned, staring at the movement of his hands some more. It looked meaningful at least. Maybe it was something all humans were supposed to know.
Well, she wasn't human. What in Celestia's name was she supposed to do with that?
@vesperradiance liked for a starter !
STANLEY REALLY THOUGHT HE HAD SEEN IT ALL. A man the size of a thimble , a vampire ( ? ) that looked like he was the felt aisle that had walked out of a craft store . . But this might just have taken the cake. As he was making his way to the nearest train station to get to where he was supposed to live , he passed by someone who had also been brought here. At least , he assumed as much. She looked just as confused as he was - only . . she was a horse. An unnaturally colored one , sure , but he was certain he remembered what a horse looked like.
HE STARED FOR A SECOND , before finally directing his gaze back to where he was walking. It wasn't his place to comment on it , after all. She was a horse just as much as he was Stanley. Neither one of them could control that. He deliberated for a moment , before deciding to sign something. ' Please tell me you're just as lost as I am. '

"Then again, what were the chances she'd find somepony as bright as me to take under her wing after I decided to leave Equestria?"
Rules - App - Stats
Former personal to the ruler of her country. Until she was dismissed - and no she'll tell you she left. Thank you.
Ego is big, and has the power and magic to match it. Y'know. When she has ACCESS to it.
Mean girl attitude went unchecked. Never really had to interact with people her age given her status, and doesn't know how the fuck to make nice.
Family issues galore. Does not really have a healthy relationship with one parental figure in her life.
The one thing she does love is magic though. Especially learning it.
