There we go! Got around to updating my muse list. Sorry if you happened across this blog looking to interact with any of the culled characters -- I'm a dumbass who thinks something is a good idea at the time, then realizes how utterly overwhelmed I've made myself with my impulse decision.

I am so, so tempted to cull my muse list considerably to make it less intimidating for myself, and add a certain two-headed dad to the roster.

Impromptu starter for @phoenixfiiire:
Just one touch of her fingertip to the top of her cigarette; the small exchange of magic set the object alight, and the woman took a drag from it. The exhale of smoke was slow; she relished not only the taste, but even moreso the sensation of the smoke passing through slightly-parted lips. It gave her a feeling of satisfaction, of control -- being able to decide just how much or how little seeped out at a time.
The heels of her boots clicked against the stone bricks of the old stronghold as she began to pace. Benedikta's arms crossed over her chest, where that cigarette tapped idly against her opposite forearm. (But never hard enough to dislodge any ashes.)
When the Lady of the Wind rounded upon her captive, her cold and unforgiving gaze pinned him in place just as much as the binds around his hands and feet were.
"Now that your little friend is gone --" Benedikta spoke with a hint of amusement in her tone, akin to a predator toying with its prey. "-- are you feeling more generous with your words? Or will we have to persuade you with a bit more... insistence?"

Impromptu Starter for @warofthebeasts:
"Look out below!"
Things yelled moments before disaster. Down came a wrench from the heavens -- or rather, from over the side of the fuselage of the Tiny Bronco. A bit of cursing followed suit, then the engineer's head poked over the edge from where the protective glass had been removed temporarily. More expletives erupted from the blonde, these ones louder this time; the pair of goggles that had 'til that moment been covering his eyes were pushed upwards to sit at his forehead.
"Ain't dead down there, are ya?"

Okay, there we go. I am an idiot and didn't realize pages aren't mobile-friendly. :sob: So muse list has been added to my pinned post, for easy access!

Ignoring the blatant fact that I have starters and replies and whatnot that I still need to wade through on my Elwin blog, consider this a starter call. They'll probably be tiny starters, maybe a line or two, but.
Just let me know what muse you'd like one from!

Muses | Rules | Tag List
This list is still tentative for right now – I may add more, or take some out, depending on how things go and how much I’m able to actually keep muse for all of these characters!
Characters with a * next to them are entirely experimental.
Final Fantasy X:
High Summoner Braska
Final Fantasy XIV:
Misija Votyasch Ameliance Leveilleur* Menenius sas Lanatus Loghrif the Pastor*
Final Fantasy XVI:
Sleipnir Harbard

Headcanon time!
The reason why my Harbard's demeanor is described as being "unchangingly icy" enough to earn him his nickname, is in part because while he can feel Barnabas's emotions, he doesn't actually feel emotions of his own. He himself is incapable of it, or at least incapable of actually identifying/understanding any emotions he may feel of his own.
The "emotions" that he does seem to express are more akin to mimicry, much like most aspects of his corporeal existence.

On the subject of which came first, the chicken or the egg -- or in this case, the horse or the human:
My Sleipnir has always existed as long as Odin has existed. He's a part of Odin -- or rather, is one with the Eikonic entity, with no actual autonomy once they are primed. They share one consciousness, which is Barnabas's, of course.
Sleipnir Harbard, the humanoid entity that interacts separately out in the world when they aren't primed, came into existence later, when Barnabas used Odin's power to create a being that really is just a being made up of that very aether. Unlike his identity as Odin's mount, he does have some degree of free thought and functionality, though his consciousness is still connected to Barnabas's. Their connection allows Harbard to know his master's thoughts and feelings without Barnabas needing to express them, and as such, he is able to speak for and/or enact Barnabas's will seemingly unprompted.
Harbard can change his humanoid form's appearance at will; all it requires is for the aether comprising Sleipnir's tangible body to dissipate and reform with a different form or appearance, if he so chooses it -- although most often his appearance will be derived according to Barnabas's specifications, whether conscious or unconscious on the Dominant's part.
In short, the answer to the question is: yes.

I think the defining moment for my Benedikta of realizing she can't stand by Barnabas's actions any longer isn't when she's cast aside like useless rubbish entirely for the sake of baiting Hugo, but when she sees with her own two eyes that he has child Bearers imprisoned in Balmung Dark as well -- not just adults.
She has always been notoriously coldhearted and ruthless. She has never been shy about killing, torturing, destroying lives to prove a point. It hasn't quite been about gaining pleasure from these acts -- but about asserting the power she holds now, that had been deprived from her for so long in her youth. And she will do anything, no matter how unsavory, no matter how supposedly "shameful", in order to retain control and maintain the upper hand.
But she was once a scared, defenseless little girl, whose life barely held meaning -- and what little meaning it did have was decided by how she could benefit others.
When she sees the children at Balmung Dark, whose very existence is so easily cast aside and erased entirely by Barnabas and his soldiers, she in some ways sees herself in them -- and realizes that Barnabas is no different than the adults she had dealt with in her own youth. The very same adults that Garuda had stepped in to protect her from, and in turn she desires to protect these children in return.
