Kalias lies a lot. It's part of being a Crow.
However, most of the time, he lies through ommission and assumption. Someone assumes he's a servant: He'll let them think that. He needs to get in? He is supposed to be in there! (He just doesn’t have the owners permission)
But we’re calling him out here! The biggest way Kalias lies is he lies about himself. He’s perfectly fine! He’s absolutely normal! He has no trauma whatsoever! He wants for nothing and he’s fine.
He absolutely is terrible about this. And honestly, it’s one of his biggest flaws! He won’t admit he needs help! Crows don’t need help! He certainly doesn’t need Viago’s approval!
He’s a liar. He’s not fine! There’s something wrong with him! He has so much trauma! He needs help! The Crows need help! He wants Viago’s approval so bad even if he has to die for it
But for most things he doesn’t feel a need to lie. Only when it comes to him. But never with Lucanis or Spite.
Rook Intro Hour: Liar, Liar
Heyo, happy August! Lots of stuff going on this month!
How it works: I ask you a question(s) about your Rook(s) and you answer however you want! You don't have to answer everything, and you don't have to worry about length. The easiest way for me to keep track of everyone is for you to reblog this post and add your answer, although mentioning me in a separate post also works. You can do this whenever you want, and I’ll reblog + comment. There’s no time limit— if you want to do the older ones, they are collected here! (The post is updated on Fridays!)
*Please be aware that if you rb RIH to a community WITHOUT rbing to your blog first, I CANNOT rb. If you want me to comment, please put the post on YOUR BLOG first. Thanks!
Today's Question(s): Does your Rook lie often? About what sorts of things? Are there specific reasons they lie, or circumstances that would compel them to, if they wouldn't usually? How do they feel about other people lying to them? Is there anything in particular that someone could lie about that would really upset them?
Have fun, and be creative! Thanks for sharing !

As my username suggests, Kalias thinks of Viago as both his boss, as well as an older brother figure. Their relationship differs if its "Talon!Viago" vs "Older Brother!Viago." Kalias has always looked up to Viago and would follow the man to the void and back again.
When Viago is playing the part of his Talon, Kalias is more well behaved and loyal to a fault. They may not always agree, but Kalias will always defer to Viago and usually knows his place. His biggest flaw is that if he thinks a decision/reason is stupid, he'll tell Viago so. Bluntly. This causes the boys to argue more often than they'd like in public.
However, most people only see Talon!Viago with Kalias. With Brother!Viago, Viago is more soft with him and Kalias is more rebellious against him. He's hard on him because he doesn't want to lose him, but if Kalias is genuinely concerned with something, Viago would do anything for him, and Kalias knows this. Which is why he laughed when he saw the letter from Viago. It started with "Idiot," and that meant brother!viago. It was just the two boys who grew up together in Antivia and a concerned brother who wanted his little brother back home as soon as possible. They practically grew up together since Viago took the boy in younger than he probably should have (Viago was still a teenager himself).
Now, as for Teia, Teia is his best friend (conveniently, they're around the same age). Sure, she outranks him, but as soon as they met, they bonded instantly. This sometimes causes problems when Viago and Teia are fighting (usually he stays out of it, but sometimes they unintentionally drag him into it) but in the end, no matter what, they know they have each other's back. He likes going shopping with her and just grabbing a coffee together. He's not going to lie, he does look up to her and admires her skills and courage. He does wish he was more like her sometimes.
Teia is the only one Kalias will take orders from besides Viago. Technically, he's supposed to defer to every Talon but....yeah, only Teia and Viago are allowed to tell him what to do, even as Rook. Both are rather smug about this fact.
Tl;dr Teia and Viago are Kalias' best friends and his family. He will die for them. He does respect their rank and is fiercely loyal to the two of them to the point of ignoring his own well being and other's well being if either of them told him to do so.
Rook Intro Hour: Mentors
How it works: I ask you a question about your Rook(s) and you answer it with as much brevity or verbosity as you desire. The easiest way for me to keep track of everyone is for you to reblog this post and add your answer, although you can also mention me in a separate post, if you want! You can do this whenever you want, and I’ll reblog it + add some comments! There’s no time limit— if you want to do the older ones, they are collected here! (The post is updated on Fridays!)

Today's Question(s): What does Rook think of their faction mentor(s)/leaders? What is their relationship, and how has it changed over time + throughout the game? If your Rook doesn’t really consider their faction leader(s) mentors, are there any other prominent mentor figures they’ve had throughout their life?
Have fun! Thanks for sharing !

A Letter Dated Six Months Ago
So, @gutz-ingellvar made those cool stamp papers for each faction. Of course I couldn't miss this chance to fool around.

Viago is his usual self: he cares but you'll never hear it from him.
You can take a piece of paper here and try something fun.

so just a basic worldbuilding q abt the logistics here i guess. if rifts are still active even after corypheus is defeated, which is confirmed in both dialogue and dlc gameplay, and war table dialogue also confirms that there are rifts outside of the inquisition’s reach, are there rifts still out there further north post-dai? that the inquisitor probably never got to? were the rifts equally present all over the continent or were they more sparse further from the initial breach? are there places where people have just had to live with those things open for a decade and possibly for decades more?

solas announcing that helping the inquisitor use his the anchor for the first time feeling like they changed the world.....
*gestures emphatically at rook*
listen i'm obviously not AGAINST solavellan or solasmances of any sort (*gestures emphatically at all my fic-*) but solrook is soooo good. it hits so many of the same notes as his canon romance arc does, in terms of the actual underpinnings of the relationship development
rook trusted him. knew him, knew his past better than the inquisitor did, and still did - or well, can - choose to trust him at the last
and he sees rook change the world
because, in a big way, it is ROOK who changes the world. not with their own strength, not with their own expertise really, but in the role that solas was in so long ago - the core of a movement
rook changed the world
and solas, well...
solas could fall in love with that

Note
How many people headcanon that their Inquisitor is related to their Rook? (Like how a Amell HoF is related to Hawke)
A similar poll was run before Veilguard was released
