Hey, you are not an embarrassment for not knowing how to do certain household chores/basic self-care. They do not come naturally to us. A lot of it takes practice! Maybe you had a neglectful guardian. Maybe you had one that was very coddling and never thought to teach you. Maybe you haven't lived in a place where these things were available to you or needed. Doesn't matter. It's okay to not know and far more common than you might realise.

That said, this website provides very simple instructions on how to do everyday tasks such as making your bed, using a washing machine, cooking different foods, washing dishes, taking a shower, etc. All you have to do is use the search bar to find the task you're struggling with, and it'll come up with what you need + other related how-to's:)

If you're having trouble navigating it, let me provide you with some examples:

i thought my laptop was on its last leg because it was running at six billion degrees and using 100% disk space at all times and then i turned off shadows and some other windows effects and it was immediately cured. i just did the same to my roommate's computer and its performance issues were also immediately cured. okay. i guess.

so i guess if you have creaky freezy windows 10/11 try searching "advanced system settings", go to performance settings, and uncheck "show shadows under windows" and anything else you don't want. hope that helps someone else.

Could you recommend other Latin American communists than José Carlos Mariátegui?

I should preface this by saying I’m mostly familiar with Mexican Marxism.

Ricardo Flores Magón and Enrique Flores Magón (extremely influential, communists in the rest of Latin America basically saw them as the ideologues of the Mexican Revolution),

César Vallejo (poet and associate of Mariátegui, his political writings are neglected),

M.N. Roy (very influential for the development of international communist anticolonial strategy),

Tristán Marof (was cooking some kind of insane things about Tawantinsuyu but interesting because of that),

Aníbal Ponce (historian and critic of education, a big missing piece if people only look at European critical theory and some of his takes on it precede Paulo Freire),

Aimé Césaire (Notebook of a Return to the Native Land is one of the greatest poems about the Caribbean)

José Revueltas (great analysis of the world significance of the Mexican Revolution and the repression of the social revolutionary elements of it),

Che Guevara of course (you’d be surprised how little Anglophone people actually read anything by him),

Walter Rodney (Groundings with my Brothers is a great book)

Pablo González Casanova (great sociologist, a lot of what he wrote goes well with Henri Lefebvre, influenced the EZLN),

Ruy Mauro Marini (one of the greatest dependency theorists, does a lot of interesting things with Marx’s Capital),

Beatriz Nascimento (one of the main theorists of the Movimiento Negro in Brazil and influenced a lot of the reassessment of maroons),

Michael Löwy (great for connecting critical theory, Latin American Marxism, and the concept of utopia),

Gustavo Esteva (critic of developmentalism and one of the better radical democracy theorists), René Zavaleta Mercado (also a great theorist of radical democracy),

Andaiye (formerly worked with Walter Rodney and influential for the development of feminist social reproduction theory),

Álvaro García Linera (one of the theorists who I think is the most consistent defending Lenin’s position on governance, for better or worse, and a meeting point between autonomist Marxism and indianismo), and

Aníbal Quijano (great work on the world historical significance of colonialism and imperialism in the Americas)

Silvia Rivera Cusicanqui (revolutionary decolonial theorist and critic of North American academic decolonial theory, has some very interesting interpretations of abstract labor and language)

The best Merthur fan fictions (in my humble opinion)

I thought I would share my favorite Merthur fics here. I track all the fics I read (this year I've read 322 so far wohoo) and these are the best of the best the ones I will reread over and over and over and over.

That being said they are in no particular order and I plan on updating this, when I find new favs.

Gravity by BeautifulFiction

Hands down the best Hurt/Comfort fic I have ever read. It's not only stunningly written but the way Arthur and Merlin's relationship develops is so beautiful. Might be my favorite fic ever

Sorcerer's Bane by BeautifulFiction

This one is loooong and still I wish it was longer because I want to live in it. It has everything one could wish for and the author has created a true masterpiece with it amazing 15/10.

Lost and Found by Lex18

This is so precious. It's about Merlin and Arthur getting hit by the spell of some evil sorceress and when they wake up in the forest they are small children, with no memories of their adult lives. So we get to watch Arthur trying to protect Merlin. The scenes with the knights are so funny and ah I can't I love it. It's so soft and beautiful and I melt in a puddle of happy gay goo every time I read it

Merlin gets hurt when they are in the woods and get attacked by bandits. So we get to see Arthur panicking and the knights all trying to get Merlin back to the castle. By now you should know that I'm a sucker for pining Arthur who fears for Merlin's life, I mean look at this list. I do love the knights here, working together because Merlin is their smol

A king's hands by feyver (itsnautica)

It's technically not a Merthur fic but Merlin is stressed and Arthur wants to help him. He's also pining and in love but in that moment it's more important to take care of Merlin and make sure he gets a break and that mends my broken heart

No Night So Dark by Cithara

Angst. So SO MUCH ANGST. I don't want to spoil anything for this please check the tags but if you can read it. Believe me it's worth it. It's so well paced so beautifully structured and the development of the characters is chef's kiss.

Would You Take Me Home by Noel803

Merlin is turned into a kid and Arthur is trying to bring him home. But without his adult memories, Merlin is not sure if he can trust knights of Camelot to have his best interest in mind. I don't want to say any more but ah stunning. You really feel for Arthur in this one.

All Things Loved and Lovesick by horsecrazy

I reread it yesterday and had to add it. Merlin is a vet in this one and Arthur is a rich prat with a soft spot for horses. They are pining in this one. Both of them are so stupid and the love language is tea. However in between their idiocy there are little moments of them showing their feelings and WOW
