i love having the hubris to go 'sure i'll try that, how hard can it be' about every creative skill under the sun. jack of all trades master of shit fuck but who says you have to be a master??? maybe i want to sew a mediocre plushie and code a janky mod and write a bland song. im having fun. im in my lane. im learning and im thriving.

I am having an Art Issue and I don't wike it.

I also had the thought last night, when the idea first re-emerged, that maybe I should start with a different game, a smaller game. I looked through my list of ideas and came up with one I tentatively called 'Devotion,' which will be about a knight.

I doubt that will be smaller.

Maybe I should go through itch.io's free marketplace for game assets, see if any strike my fancy?

Please don't ever stop making art or writing wips that are gruesome, horror, other things like that. Don't let the Internet sanitize how you wanna tell a story. Channel your rage into your art and keep going and don't give up

Ughhh, I also want to make like a physical-notebook 'art log' of sorts, where I keep a running journal of my art stuff. Like, it'd be ideas and months I work on projects?

I sometimes do that in a digital document but I like the idea of having a physical record. But I don't feel like searching through my barely-used notebooks for a 'good' one.

I don't even know what criteria I would use for one that's suitable for this idea, but I could always just grab the first mostly-empty one and then make a table of contents at the front.

I don't need a super nice one or a multi-subject one, brain, chill.

So here's my inspiration so far, all.paint by numbers

The pomegranates and strawberries one is cool for like a pattern-y thing, but I don't think I'll use it. The swan is just so pretty. The dragons are bc I have to bow to my childhood obsession with them. The teacup is beyond adorable, but again could be a pattern-y thing so prob not. The futuristic city is a cool aesthetic. The other three are more like 'high brow' art but I still love them, so maybe they could go on the back as like a triptych (or however you spell that) kind of deal.

I also saw a video where someone made an absolutely BALLER table, so I could maybe use one of my discarded room divider ideas for one of those.

So I've been looking around at various paint by number kits for inspo. And I can't decide on a style. I mean, I could do one for each panel in the front and then have the back be one big painting?

See, here's the issue with being creative- I have so many ideas and no real medium to do them. Like, I really want to make a room divider out of wood and paint it something awesome. Ok so I have really vivid dreams sometimes that I fully believe upon waking. The one last night was that I had a dream that a family member got a tattoo of a terracotta soldier that was part scorpion that was made of oxidized copper.

So I decided the logical next step would be to bring this sick idea to life.

But in other news I have been watching my 'how to earn money doing art' playlist on my yt and damn. Now I wanna make washi tape. Like, fuck.

Hmmm. Kind of want to make art bc I finally have energy after work for the first time in a while, but i want it to be traditional.

I mean, I had the idea to turn a simple digital piece into a traditional one, but I'll have to do some figuring out, including what size to start at. I could just look at my various sketchbooks and paper pads, see what catches my eye. But since I'm on the computer I can figure out a different aspect.

The absolute worst feeling in the world is wanting to do something creative and having absolutely 0 energy to do so. Like, the fuck. I have ideas but I just can't muster the motivation to work on one.

also i now want to make a full sketchbook devoted to making it look like I'm on another world taking field notes, but bc I'm Extra beyond belief I'd need to find a project to do it in. And keep it fairly medium-sized instead of my big sketchbooks so I don't get overwhelmed.
