India gifted me some of my most memorable rides, with amazing landscapes and people around every corner. I will be back eventually. In the meantime, I see a European summer on the horizon 😎 (at India) https://www.instagram.com/p/B0oQjNpBw4v/?igshid=1uk860bu82q4y

Kite flying and battling monkeys at sunset. Always a good time above Delhi’s spice market. In the center of the next pic you can see a tiny hand belonging to a baby monkey right before he climbs over the wall. It’s quite adorable. They’re cute but aggressive. Scroll towards the video at the end to see these monkeys coming in hot! Letting us know, who runs the place. (at Old Delhi Spice Market) https://www.instagram.com/p/B0YFbAQhUun/?igshid=1du9bxxtyv6da

The drink I miss most about India? Chai 😋 I also loveeedd the banana shake with the ice cream on top I got in Delhi for only 20 rupee. Oh, and sugar cane juice. Yum. Which one of the three would you pick? (at India) https://www.instagram.com/p/B0VaYKch3yb/?igshid=1320os97je21y

My story of how I reached the world’s highest village (connected by road) and feared for my life later that evening. Read below. I couldn’t believe it, I was finally in Spiti Valley and driving up to the world highest village on this beautiful Friday afternoon. I’ve been fantasizing about this moment for a few weeks now. I got a rush of emotions once I reached the top and the stunning snow topped mountains around me had me thinking I was in a dream. I couldn’t be happier. My excitement didn’t stop there, I was about to walk into the world’s highest post office! I was driving like a madman for the past 4 hours so I could reach it before it closed. I reach my destination only 20 minutes before closing. No time to waste, I promptly go inside, fill out my postcards, got them stamped, and they were on their way. Success! What’s next? I need a place to stay. I heard the nearby town, Lagnza, was a great place to spend the night with stunning views, so off I went. I had 90 minutes to get there as sunset was approaching, and it was getting colder by the minute. About 15 minutes in, I turn a corner and there’s a sea of mud on the road ahead challenging me to go past it. I accept the challenge. And fail. Miserably. I’m stuck. No problem, I’ll dig myself out of it. My optimism and energy got zapped by the second as the 500 pound bike did not budge in the now cold hard mud. After 45 minutes I felt desperate and started screaming out for help. Nobody heard me, I was in the middle of nowhere. Thoughts of me getting gobbled up by the notorious snow leopard at night rushed into my head. If I was lucky to survive them, surely the freezing temperate and winds would transform me into Dr. Freeze halfway through the night. I had to get out of here. I left my bike and ran towards the post office to ask for help. After 30 minutes I see buildings and people. What a beautiful feeling that was! I gathered a group of men and a 4x4 truck - and headed back. Together we out-battled the mud and rescued my bike. 😎 The night capped off with us having dinner at their guesthouse and me getting altitude sickness soon after 😂. Trains in India are HOTTT. So hot that the fan blasts hot air towards you. Naturally I moved towards the window to cool off, only to get engulfed by the hot air blowing from the outside 😅. Of course there are non sauna-like train cars which have A/C, but where’s the fun in that? (at Varanasi, India) https://www.instagram.com/p/BzuTm97hknZ/?igshid=mtt07lk9i5bn

One of the many hot summer days in Varanasi, India. But what made Varanasi special wasn’t the extreme weather. It was it’s intense colors on buildings and people, the crazy madness in streets and alleyways, gut wrenching stench from manure, and of course its ancient history, holy traditions and beliefs. This is what makes Varansi such a unique place and one that needs to be experienced in person to witness its magic. (at Varanasi, India) https://www.instagram.com/p/BzhLXpXhnHL/?igshid=1o1wxr444nq9c

Taj Mahal, one of the new seven wonders of the world. Since I was a kid I remember seeing it in movies and textbooks, and to come face to face with this majestic piece of work was like a dream come. I stared at it aimlessly, admiring its beauty. As I had just fallen in love. It took 22 years, 20 thousand men, 1000 elephants, and $1 billion in today’s currency to create this exquisite ivory white marble mausoleum. This was emperor Shah Jahan’s tribute to his wife, Mumtaz Mahal, after she died giving birth to their 14th child. The Taj was a way to symbolize their eternal love. #aww He really set the bar high for all of us men out there. (at Taj Mahal) https://www.instagram.com/p/Bza6fWihsMf/?igshid=1a3u37m8jiz4t

Lassi. My second favorite drink in India. It’s hot outside and need to cool down? Drink lassi. Your mouth and stomach is on fire after a spicy meal? Drink lassi. You want a snack or light dessert? Being in Mathura during Holi was one of the craziest things I saw in India. It was nothing short of a battlefield. Streets, people, vehicles, buildings, animals were engulfed in red powder. Nothing was spared. In the top left of the picture you can see water showering the crowd below while on the opposite side people are blowing colored powder below. This got messy. Very fast. The crowd in the stands are observing women below beat men with their wet shirts. After an hour or two when most women cleared out, men went into full beast mode whipping other men out of existence. No mercy was shown. The men on the losing side of the beatings waved their hands in the air and accepted defeat. Bad move. These individuals got it the worst as a flock of blood thirsty men circled around the victim and started mercilessly whipping at that person’s naked back, neck, and head - over and over again. The sharks smelled blood and went for the kill. It was a scene straight out of shark week, the poor seal never had a chance. If you left the temple without any battle scars, consider yourself lucky. 10/10 would do it again. (at Dauji Temple Baldeo Mathura) https://www.instagram.com/p/By8AFcpBK8K/?igshid=13kgtyy0ifr96
