Scientists Unleash Incredibly Fast Electric Motor Spinning at 100,000 RPM!

Scientists Develop Incredibly Fast Electric Motor!

Electric vehicles are really taking off, and the tech powering them is evolving at lightning speed too. Engineers in Australia just unveiled an electric motor that spins like nothing you've ever seen before.

As more electric cars hit the roads, finding the materials to make their motors is getting tougher. That's why researchers have been on a mission to build motors that can do more with less. The key is getting them to spin super fast - the quicker they whirl, the smaller and more efficient they can be.

Meet the Speed Demon Motor

Researchers at the University of New South Wales have cracked the code and created an electric motor that reaches an absolutely bonkers 100,000 revolutions per minute! To put that in perspective, most motors top out around half that speed.

Dr. Guoyu Chu, who led the team, explained that getting motors to spin this quick is a total game-changer. "It means we can make them more compact without sacrificing power," he explained. "Smaller motors mean electric cars can go farther on a single charge."

Pushing the Limits

This revolutionary motor cranks out an amazing 7 kilowatts of power per kilogram - way more than traditional designs. That kind of zip makes it the speediest of its kind ever built from commercial materials. Talk about beating the record!

While it might take some fine-tuning, Dr. Chu believes with a bit more work, this tech could be putting the pedal to the metal in Teslas within a year or so. That's how fast innovation is moving as scientists unlock new frontiers in transportation.

Why Faster is Better

You might be asking - why does speed even matter for an electric motor? Well, the harder it spins, the greater the torque it can produce. Think of torque like a twisting force. With the same torque applied, a higher-revving motor needs less bulk to do its job. Less bulk means less materials and lower costs all around.

As our transportation goes electric, brilliant minds worldwide are powering ahead to the future. The speed demon motor proves how each new breakthrough builds on the last to accelerate our journey to emissions-free travel.

Young Talent Shines as Local Football Club Wins Exciting Home Match

Local Amateur Football League Match Report

On the night of October 29th, fans filled the stands at the Guiyang Olympic Sports Center for an exciting meeting of Guizhou teams in the local D-League. Guizhou Ju Yuan faced off against Zhongfu Kefu in the third match of the evening.

First Half Action

Guizhou Ju Yuan came out of the gates firing, with midfielder Su Yuanpeng placing a clever shot just inside the far post to open the scoring in the 15th minute. They continued to press but couldn't find a second goal before the half.

Zhongfu Kefu struggled to get a foothold in the match early on. Striker Zou Xianfeng saw little of the ball up front. Their best chance fell to winger Wang Yongjia just before the break but his shot sailed over the bar.

Second Half Substitutions Spark a Goal

Both managers looked to change things up at halftime. Guizhou Ju Yuan brought on Zhao Junnan who would make an immediate impact. Just five minutes into the second half, Zhao collected a pass inside the area and smashed home a powerful finish to double his team's lead.

Zhongfu Kefu rolled the dice with multiple attacking substitutions of their own. Striker Hu Aijun and midfielder Zhou Yusong came on but struggled to generate clear opportunities on goal against the organized Ju Yuan defense.

Man of the Match

For his well-taken opening goal and tireless work rate all over the pitch, Su Yuanpeng was deservedly named Man of the Match. The midfielder was a constant threat and helped his team dominate possession for large stretches of the game.

With the 2-0 victory, Guizhou Ju Yuan move up to fifth place in the D-League table. Zhongfu Kefu will look to bounce back in their next match after a disappointing result on home turf. Both sides now look ahead to their next matches after an entertaining Monday night clash.

Discover 3 Easy Aerobic Exercises and Everyday Tasks to Burn Calories and Lose Weight

Simple Ways to Exercise for Weight Loss

Many people today enjoy having a slim figure and regularly working out at the gym. However, some worry about finding time for the gym in their busy schedules. Luckily, there are simple exercises you can do anywhere as part of an everyday weight loss routine.

Gentle Aerobic Exercise for Weight Loss

Aerobic exercise is a low-intensity activity that burns a modest number of calories. Activities like table tennis, where you burn about 2000 calories over 2-3 hours, qualify as moderate aerobic exercise. These gentle workouts utilize larger muscle groups for sustained periods.

When done regularly, aerobic exercise delivers numerous health benefits. It improves lung and heart function while raising the body's red blood cell count. This enhances endurance and the body's ability to fight diseases. Aerobic exercise also promotes fat burning and prevents issues like hardening of the arteries.

Popular aerobic activities include brisk walking, light jogging, swimming, cycling, and dancing. Aim for three 20-30 minute sessions per week. Intensity varies by age - those in their 20s-30s should maintain a heart rate around 140 beats per minute during exercise.

Everyday Weight Loss Exercises

Fortunately, you can burn calories through regular household chores. Sweeping or vacuuming engages the legs, while washing dishes targets the arms. Tasks like carrying groceries up stairs involve full-body movement. Even taking the stairs instead of the elevator adds more calorie-burning steps to your day.

Simple lifestyle changes like adding extra activity to your daily routine can help achieve weight loss goals slowly over time. No gym membership required - just find fun ways to be active wherever you are.

Will Google Face Major Changes? DOJ Antitrust Lawsuit Officially Commences in D.C.

Antitrust Lawsuit Against Google Officially Opens in Washington D.C.

According to reports in the foreign media, the U.S. government's antitrust lawsuit against Google officially commenced this past Monday in Washington D.C. Experts consider this one of the largest antitrust trials against a technology company in recent years.

The U.S. Department of Justice has accused Google of abusing its dominant position in the search engine market to entrench its power through a series of unfair business deals. Specifically, Google is alleged to have paid Apple and Mozilla to be the default search engine on their browsers. The Department believes this has stunted competition in the search engine sector and squeezed out rivals.

Google has defended itself by arguing it became the top search engine due to the quality of its products and services, not improper behavior. Google's lawyers pointed out that while Microsoft also pays to be the default search engine on Windows, this did not prevent Google from becoming the search market leader.

During the court hearing, the Department of Justice cited numerous Google internal emails and memos as evidence that the company highly valued default search placement. However, Google claims these documents have been taken out of context and blow the issue out of proportion.

Experts say the case outcome is difficult to predict. It has become rare in recent years for antitrust lawsuits to force major technological changes in a company. There is also debate around whether Google search users have truly been harmed, given it is a free service.

The trial is expected to last several months. If Google were found to have violated antitrust laws, it could significantly impact their business model going forward.

Apple Phones Struggle to Excite China as Market Share Plunges

Apple Phones Face Cooler Reception in China as Challenges Mount

On September 14th, Apple's newly released iPhones did not generate as much excitement among Chinese consumers as in previous years, marking the latest sign that the company is facing increasingly difficult challenges in one of its largest markets.

According to reports, the challenges Apple faces in China have become more pronounced. The company is attempting to reduce its manufacturing dependence and supply chain reliance on China by shifting production of more iPhones to India, another country with a population over 1 billion. Apple aims to open additional stores in India and expand its market share there.

Last week, Apple rolled out an emergency security update to patch vulnerabilities in its operating system that had allowed the Israeli spyware Pegasus, created by the NSO Group, to infect iPhones and iPads.

In recent years, America's efforts to restrict companies like Huawei from accessing strategic technologies have significantly altered the smartphone landscape. In the first half of 2020, Huawei achieved iPhone-level market share for high-end phones in China. But by the second quarter of 2023, iPhones accounted for 65% of the market compared to 18% for Huawei phones.

Last week, Huawei introduced a new smartphone to compete at the high end. Renowned Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo estimates shipments of Huawei's new Mate 60 Pro for the second half of this year could reach 6 million units, around 20% more than initially projected. He also forecasts cumulative shipments within a year of its launch could surpass 12 million units.

According to data from market research firm Canalys, China's total smartphone shipments (including high and low-end models) declined 5% year-over-year to 64.3 million units in the second quarter of 2023. Apple ranked third with iPhone shipments of 10.4 million units.

Figures from TechInsights indicate that based purely on iPhone shipments, China overtook other regions to become Apple's largest market globally for the first time in the second quarter.

Huawei's comeback poses a threat to Apple's dominance. In an online poll on Weibo asking "Will you ditch the iPhone for a Huawei phone this year?", over 40% of nearly 200,000 respondents signaled they would consider it.

Shanghai lawyer Dan Yiren, 40, said he had used his iPhone 12 Pro Max for over three years and was looking to upgrade to the 512GB iPhone 15 Pro Max, which costs around $1,650 in China. While he prefers iPhones for the ease of transferring data and settings to new devices, Huawei's emerging satellite communication functionality has also piqued his interest. He mentioned, "Huawei's high-end models offer reasonable prices compared to Apple, so I'm considering getting one as a backup to try out the satellite feature in support of Huawei."

Apple has achieved significantly higher success recently in other rising markets, especially India, where it hopes to offset declining Chinese sales. During an earnings call in August, Apple CEO Tim Cook stated that India delivered another record quarter. "India represents the world's second largest smartphone market, although our market share remains very small," said Cook, who recognized this situation presents "a huge opportunity."

It is reported that Apple has been working vigorously to accelerate iPhone production timelines in India to close the gap from manufacturing in China. The company began locally assembling select iPhone models in 2017 to circumvent import duties from China and reduce customer prices. In April, Apple opened its first Indian retail store, with Cook attending the inauguration.

However, less expensive Android smartphones have tended to dominate in India due to the population's relatively lower incomes. Data from Counterpoint Research estimates Apple could achieve a 5% share of India's overall smartphone market this year, up from 1% in 2019.

Nvidia Stock Hits Record High Ahead of Earnings as AI Focus Returns with OpenAI Executive Departure
Nvidia is slated to report its fiscal third quarter results after the market close on Tuesday, with Wall Street eagerly awaiting an update on the fundamentals behind the artificial intelligence hype. The chipmaker's stock hit a record high of $504.09 per share on Monday, with AI back in investor focus amid Sam Altman's departure from ChatGPT-maker OpenAI for Microsoft. With Nvidia positioned as the face of the 2023 AI story, expectations remain high for the chip juggernaut. Here's what Wall Street expects for Nvidia's third quarter results, per Bloomberg data compiled by Yahoo Finance compared to last year: - Revenue: $5.93 billion expected vs. $5.93 billion last year - Adjusted EPS: $0.58 expected vs. $0.58 last year - Data Center Revenue: $3.83 billion expected vs. $3.83 billion last year - Gaming Revenue: $1.57 billion expected vs. $1.57 billion last year Investors will also look for the company's revenue outlook, with the Street expecting fourth quarter guidance around $6.52 billion. The company has delivered its biggest guidance surprises for investors on the topline in 2023. In August, Nvidia posted second quarter results that topped Wall Street's expectations for revenue and EPS, while providing guidance above the high end of estimates which sent shares to record highs. Back in May, one analyst called the company's forecast "epic guidance." But after the August report, shares have been volatile over the past few months as investors began to question Nvidia's valuation, and updated challenges around chip export restrictions cast doubt on assumptions around end market size. The company said in an SEC filing after announcing the new curbs that it does not expect an impact in the immediate term. Stifel analyst Ruben Roy, in a Yahoo Finance Live interview, said he expects similar commentary from Nvidia on Tuesday. "Our sense is there's still tremendous amount of demand globally. So certainly in the U.S., the large cloud service providers...we think will continue to be a huge opportunity for Nvidia. Even outside of the U.S. in areas like Europe, Japan, Korea, etc - there's a lot of AI activity taking place... We still think Nvidia's the best way to play that growth," Roy said. A key member of the 'Magnificent Seven' cohort of stocks powering the market this year alongside Apple, Google, Microsoft, Amazon, Meta and Tesla - Nvidia has risen over 70% collectively with those names so far in 2022, while the other 493 stocks in the S&P 500 are up just 6%. "This continues to be Nvidia's world," Evercore ISI Senior Managing Director Julian Emanuel warned on Sunday, telling investors to brace for "fireworks" in the stock no matter which way it trades following earnings.

Apple announces termination of partnership with Goldman Sachs, future of Apple Card uncertain
On November 29, according to the Wall Street Journal, Apple has asked Goldman Sachs to "exit the partnership agreement over approximately 12-15 months." Apple has yet to respond, while Goldman Sachs declined requests for comment from major media. Undoubtedly, this will affect its credit card and savings account services, including the "Apple Card" and "Apple Savings." Earlier reports claimed Goldman Sachs was seeking to get out of its dealings with Apple. Goldman claimed to have suffered huge losses on the Apple Card, with one executive saying: "We should never have signed the related contracts, it was a mistake." Goldman regrets the entire Apple Card partnership, losing over $1 billion on the business as of January this year (note: currently around 7.16 billion RMB). The fate of the Apple Card remains unclear, and it is not yet known if Apple has found a new issuer for the card. However, the Wall Street Journal suggests a few possibilities going forward. Reportedly, Goldman has already discussed transferring the project to American Express. But Amex expressed concerns about "several aspects of the plan, including its loss rate." Additionally, Synchrony Financial also considered taking over the Apple Card business.
