what was the first exact you owned???

my first exact was free people's voile and lace trapeze slip dress in the navy/black colorway. it has some holes/fraying on the lace part due to age and probably stretching. (it hangs in my closet.)

i know this isn't technically exact since violet didn’t wear this color, but i eventually did get the storm colorway in a small, that dress is a little old too.

how would I start a violet exact collection? like what would be the easiest things to start it off !!

hello, anon! i hope this helps, i tried to explain it best as possible. first, you want to do research. make sure you’re getting actual exacts and not alts (alternatives) UNLESS you want that. make a list of exacts or ask other collectors for information about exacts. after that, you could start by buying more common exacts, here are a few i consider common:

• anthropologie moulinette soeurs anthro horkelia shift dress in orange.

• free people voile and lace trapeze slip dress in storm.

• free people fit & flare dress in boysenberry.

• free people spending time pullover in ivory.

• rothco israeli paratrooper bag in olive drab.

• ecoté convertible suede fringe backpack in brown.

• banana republic skinny stripe open cardigan in blue.

• free people lost in the forest pullover in tan.

• free people scandalous lace long sleeve in navy and ivory. (ivory colorway can be dyed.)

try to complete full outfits as much as you can and build up from there. start with simpler, easier to complete outfits so you actually have something to wear and show off. ex.) free people fit & flare dress in boysenberry, worn in ‘after birth’ with white tights and silver ballet flats.

from there you can build up and begin collecting rarer exacts and outfits with more clothing articles. it can get a bit pricey if you're explicitly searching ‘violet harmon exacts,’ so you can try to search your clothes by name. ex.) free ‘people lace long sleeve’ for the scandalous lace top.

i hope this helps! i started collecting alternative colorways because i didn't know any better at that time, and they ultimately started to become clutter in my closet, so please please do your research unless you want an alternative colorway! you don't have to do any of this, it’s just what i recommend.

what about the daisy crotchet thighs, joie cardigan and the free people trapeze slip dress? I’m getting one soon and I really want to see the combo :)

i seriously love with this combo. it's my favorite so far. the joie cardigan contrasts so well with the tights and dress because all of the colors are muted and almost stormy. the pop of blue on the trapeze slip makes this such a great outfit.
