as pride month approaches, i urge most of this site to remember:
tme/tma are not exclusionary, they're for describing trans folk directly targeted by bigotry against transfemininity and those who aren't. like black/non black in discussions of antiblackness
these terms also don't imply your sex whatsoever, tme =/= afab
intersecting oppression means certain folks in trans spaces will be more vulnerable than others ( transfems and also tpoc, disabled trans folk, etc ) interpreting that as "competing" for oppression/erasing yours is deeply ignorant and harmful.
transfems calling out their oppression are not the ones infighting.
transfems calling it out from other trans people are not the ones infighting.
being trans doesn't make you incapable of transmisogyny
if you truly want trans solidarity, support, recognize and listen to transfems, and their experiences. it's our duty if we want to call ourselves a safe community.

Hello friends, there's a dogwhistle I've seen used a couple times on tumblr that I want to discuss.
Fellow neurodivergents especially, please listen-- towards the end of this post I describe how some in our community have been using it without knowing what it means.
A fairly common antisemitic dogwhistle used amongst alt-right circles on the internet is being a "noticer," "noticing patterns," "pattern noticer," etc. I've seen this from a couple Tumblr blogs I follow reblogging memes and such that use this term but don't provide any context about what sorts of "things" they may be noticing.
Here's the meme that I saw a blog I'm following reblog last night.
Tumblr media
Seems pretty harmless, right? It's a meme with a cute cat.
In alt-right circles, what they are referring to "noticing" is the conspiracy theory that Jews control the world/"noticing" evidence of an imagined globalist (read: Jewish) world order/etc. If you see a meme that uses terms like "noticing patterns" that doesn't elaborate what those supposed patterns are-- just leaves you to fill in the blank yourself-- take a look at the types of things OP might be posting. The alt-right has an idea that it's forbidden to talk about who might be behind the "conspiracies" they talk about (again, the target is frequently Jewish people) so lack of context is often a red flag.
I sent the blog who reblogged this an ask informing them that the meme was a dogwhistle. If you see someone reblog something like this, check what they've been posting. If this seems like an isolated incident, the person probably reblogged it not knowing what the term actually meant. That's why dogwhistles are so effective-- to the average person they look harmless if you don't know what to watch out for!
Let's take a look at how alt-righters use this term.
Here's an alt-right definition of it from Urban Dictionary.
Tumblr media
Oh boy, this one gets a bigotry bingo for all the dogwhistles used here. If I miss any, feel free to comment. Here are the ones I found:
-Noseticing: Noticing plus nose, based on the stereotype for Jewish people to have large noses.
-"those who cannot be named"/skirting around saying Jew: again the idea that it's forbidden to talk about who they think is behind their conspiracy theories.
-"world events and agendas": idea that Jewish people have a Globalist agenda etc etc
-Degeneracy: Nazi term to describe the behaviors/people they find undesirable.
-Early life: refers to the section in a person's Wikipedia page. If a person was brought up Jewish, it'll usually say so there.
-Oy vey: a Jewish exclamation of exasperation that Nazis have unfortunately co-opted when talking about Jewish people.
Here's probably the most obviously antisemitic meme I found.
Tumblr media
The title and first bullet point include the "noticer" term. This meme also talks about a "group" who controls wealth. Who might the poster be referring to here?
Here's a Twitter account with many similar alt-right terms. Explicitly identifies as a Nazi and ethno-nationalist, etc etc.
Tumblr media
A couple other pages. I clicked on them to see if I could find any more examples but the first seemed pretty blank and the second... Well, I don't have a twitter so I couldn't view.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Let's unpack these a little. The first one has "13 outta 52," a statistic used among white supremacists to depict Black people (especially African-Americans) as "savage": 13 referring to the percentage of America that is Black and 52 referring to the alleged percentage of murders in the U.S. that are committed by Black people. "109 countries" refers to the idea that Jewish people have been expelled from 109 countries during history. (Which isn't entirely true. Some "countries" in this count are actually cities, regions, etc.) Some white supremacists may use the number 110 instead to suggest that it should happen again.
The second one has a blurb alleging a global sterilization effort and concerns of fertility. This is likely in connection to pro-natalism for white people. If Nazis want a so-called "Aryan nation," they're going to want white people to populate it, and so they encourage white people to have babies for their cause. Nazi Germany employed this tactic as well, even awarding "Aryan" German women who had four or more children for their contributions to the Nazi cause.
The reason why I'm emphasizing that context matters is that some neurodivergent people have seen this and co-opted it into neurodivergent circles. As a person who is Jewish and autistic, this is pretty alarming to me. I'll show a couple examples from Tumblr:
Tumblr media
And
Tumblr media
I've left out the URLs of the OPs because I want to give the benefit of the doubt-- they both explicitly refer to being a "pattern noticer" in terms of neurodivergence. And it's easy to see why introducing this term to ND folks would be an easy way to get a dogwhistle passed off as harmless! Since autistic people often have analytical minds, we often make connections that others might not be able to see. But unfortunately, using terms like this only makes it much easier for antisemites to fly under the radar.
Stay safe and let's keep Tumblr free of this shit.

🚨Take a moment to imagine your child or loved one. What would you do for them? How far would you go to protect them and shield them from pain, loss and despair🚨
I am Marwa, a mother of three girls, Belasan, Joan and Nada, ages 7 to 14. 🔊🔉🔈I will take a moment to share my story.📢📣
My children and I lived under bombardment and aggression. We had a safe home full of dreams and a bright future for my daughters.
Tumblr media
But everything changed when the war on Gaza began. Our house, which we built with strength and effort before the war, was destroyed.
Tumblr media
We lost our job, which was our only source of income. The journey of displacement and moving from one place to another began without the minimum necessities of life. We faced difficulties in providing healthy food and clean water. We lived in fear and terror. My daughters could no longer sleep from the intensity of fear.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
My mother-in-law suffers from serious lung infections and chronic diseases, and we find it difficult to provide appropriate treatment for her, especially in the winter and the bitter cold. She is part of our family after losing her husband. We are now without shelter, moving from one place to another, and struggling to survive. Today we have no income, no life, and no work. We are determined to rebuild our dreams, secure our future, and rebuild our home. We cannot do this alone and we need your help in building our lives. Your support, no matter how small, can make a big difference. Thank you for helping us find hope on our journey.

🌟 A Cry for Help: My Family’s Struggle to Survive in Gaza 🌟
Hello, my name is Areej Kassab. I’m a 27-year-old English teacher and writer from Gaza, and I’m reaching out to you with a heavy heart and a desperate plea for support. My family and I are enduring unimaginable hardships as relentless bombings devastate our home and our dreams.
We are a family of 15—10 adults and 5 children. Every day is a battle for survival. Food is scarce, humanitarian aid is not reaching us, and my little nieces and nephews go to bed hungry. Among them is my sister, who is deaf, and another sister who has a newborn baby. They, too, are suffering in this crisis, and I’m doing everything I can to protect and provide for them.
💔 A Life in Ruins
Tumblr media
The war has robbed us of everything: safety, peace, and even the hope of a future here. My family’s needs are basic yet critical—food, clean water, diapers for the babies, gas for cooking, and other essentials to make it through each day.
With rising prices and limited access to necessities, we are struggling to provide even the most basic items. My sister’s home has been destroyed, and we are working together to ensure everyone has shelter, food, and warmth.
✨ My Plea for Your Support ✨
I’m a writer, and I’ve been documenting the harsh realities faced by my community under siege. But words can only do so much. We need action, and we need help. Your kindness can save us.
🙏 How You Can Help
Donate: Every contribution, no matter how small, brings us closer to securing the essentials we desperately need.
Share Our Story: If you can’t donate, please share this post to help us reach others who can.
Your support will help provide food for the children, clean water for my family, and basic supplies to help us survive this unimaginable crisis.
Thank you for reading, for caring, and for standing in solidarity with us. Together, we can create a lifeline for my family—a chance to live, to dream, and to hope again.
With love and gratitude,
Areej Kassab ❤️

With the ostensible leak of the Oblivion remaster publicity shots and possible announcement date let's all keep in mine once again that Bethesda (as part of Microsoft) is a priority BDS target right now.
Whether we like the idea or not, excitement or not, should not ultimately matter right now because we should not be supporting them in any way.
No amount of nostalgia, curiosity or earnest enthusiasm should be enough to cross this line.

i genuinely believe that schools need to immediately expel students for using gen AI & blacklist them from any other program for at least five years, because i don’t want to fucking deal with these useless twerps being credentialed in any field whatsoever. these fucking people are going to be your lawyers. your healthcare professionals. these people who are too fucking dumb to read, who would rather blindly trust a glorified predictive text generator than spend five minutes studying or thinking on their own.
at this point, if you didn’t receive your credentials before 2020, it is infinitely safer for me to assume that your degree is hollow, your work is fake, and your knowledge nonexistent unless & until proven otherwise.

They died by burning, by cold, by starvation, by bombing, by shock, by disease, by lack of treatment.
Children died of fear, by being crushed by tanks and bulldozers, by being buried under rubble, by drowning, by bleeding. They died in the streets, they died searching for a morsel of survival in aid boxes.
In Gaza, we have experienced all kinds of hunger and killing. If you want to help my family, the link is here to help. Do not hesitate to help us.

Do other people in the world really believe the genocide is over or that conditions have improved? They began starving the North in March last year and then continued to starve the whole Strip for a year and now they are starving the whole Gaza Strip again this March, in Ramadan.
Genocide is an act of collective punishment and neglect of the most essential life sources.
In reality they began committing genocide against the people of Gaza the day that the siege on Gaza was imposed. What we continue to witness since Oct 7th is only the same genocide accelerated which I will never stop repeating.
Not only that, the murder by aircraft has not stopped. israel's fascist death machines are still hovering and threatening and firing and killing people in their tents, in their damaged homes, in cars, at people trying to rebuild...their thirst for Palestinian blood is literally infinite.
Even if the fire stopped, it would still be genocide. There is no such thing as an israeli ceasefire because they practice murder by freezing and starving and medically neglecting and physically and psychologically torturing Palestinians too.

there is an almost automatic transmisogynist reflex a lot of cis women have (particularly those whose main interaction with trans community as a whole is that one of their friends/family/partners came out as a trans man at some point) to attempt to be "trans inclusive" in ways that are fundamentally just excluding trans women.
like someone will be talking about "women's healthcare" and they will say "you mean AFAB healthcare!"
in their head, the math is "(cis women) + (the trans guy I know) = (common denominator is we were AFAB)" because they never once considered trans women as women in the original statement. the implicit transmisogyny just becomes vocally explicit in their attempts to clumsily "include" trans men.
and when a trans woman points out that the cis woman is being transphobic, the cis woman gets extremely flustered and defensive, because in her mind, she was going out of her way to include "trans people" (see: the one trans guy she knows) and that still isn't good enough for you people. now the cis woman is feeling vividly resentful of trans women (because the trans woman trying to gently correct her becomes symbolic of trans women as a whole) and much more likely to double-down on whatever implicit transmisogynist beliefs she already harbored.
like I just see this unfold so often.
it's extremely demoralizing that often the one trans guy the cis woman knows also does not give a shit about trans women and allows the cis women he's in community with to constantly reframe "trans inclusion" as "excluding trans women" simply because it's easy and benefits him.
it's especially disappointing to see this because it's not even that hard to challenge this sort of thing.
like I'm not a trans man, but I am a trans person, and I was assigned "female" at birth, and in my experience, when people do this, it literally is as simple as saying "no, this (e.g. medical misogyny) isn't about assignment, in fact trans women actually face much more acute forms of this kind of (e.g. medical gatekeeping, discrimination, and medical abuse) than cis women or tme trans people" and then we can talk about the mechanisms of sexgender hierarchy enforcement & how/why it impacts different demographics in these ways.
if you're TME and you're the sole person that a cis person is relying on for a "trans perspective" then, while that responsibility shouldn't be placed on you (it would be great if cis people learned about stuff independently instead of outsourcing their opinions to a singular trans person they know), it is placed on you.
and what you do with that responsibility does actually impact how this cis person will interact with trans women (individually and collectively) going forward.
like that is a level of influence that you have. you are making a difference here, whether you want that power or not.
