A psychological horror AU where the Ghosts are forced to confront what they tried to forget.

I think Silent Hill: Shattered Memories is one of the most unique games in the Silent Hill franchise, and it’s perfect for bringing Ghosts in because it’s less about monsters and more about psychological profiling, memory, and emotional trauma.

The Ghosts are:

Soldiers with buried trauma

Survivors of betrayal (Rorke)

People who’ve lost family (Ajax, Elias, Logan if he’s brainwashed)

Experts at repressing emotions

Crossover Concept:

“The dead don't sleep in Silent Hill. And neither do the Ghosts.”

After Ajax’s death, the team starts receiving scrambled radio signals from what should be a dead frequency—his voice, calling for help from a location marked only as “Silent Hill.” At first, Merrick calls it static hallucination, grief, a hacked channel maybe. But when Logan begins having recurring dreams—of blood-streaked corridors, Ajax’s voice echoing from within fog—they decide to investigate. Except when they get there, Silent Hill is not on any map anymore.

𝙱𝚘𝚗𝚞𝚜 𝚝𝚠𝚒𝚜𝚝𝚜:

Riley disappears early. Reappears covered in blood but unharmed.

The “final boss” confrontation with a massive “The Ghost Killer” Ghosts’ own logo—skull-faced, godlike, demanding silence (alongside a bit of Federation's attacked) creature born from shared trauma.

𝚂𝚝𝚛𝚞𝚌𝚝𝚞𝚛𝚎 𝙸𝚍𝚎𝚊:

Each Ghost has a solo “fog trial” in Silent Hill.

The radio picks up old comms chatter from dead Ghosts.

Eventually, they reunite—but changed. Not all may make it.

Each Ghost faces personal manifestations of their trauma in the town.

𝙺𝚎𝚎𝚐𝚊𝚗’𝚜 𝙾𝚝𝚑𝚎𝚛𝚠𝚘𝚛𝚕𝚍

He survived when others didn’t—and he never forgave himself for it. Ajax was more than a teammate. Keegan wonders if his silence killed him. Every mission he leads feels like gambling with ghosts.

Environment: Cold, metallic corridors in a hospital, echoing with bootsteps. Blood on the walls. Echoes of Operation: Sand Viper.

Monster: A humanoid figure in Ghost gear with Ajax’s voice—but his mask is torn, mouth sewn shut.

Symbolism: Keegan's fear of failing the team. His guilt. The way he buried emotions under orders.

Mechanic: Every time Keegan looks back, the base shifts. Mirrors reflect the fallen Ghosts, not him.

𝙷𝚎𝚜𝚑’𝚜 𝙾𝚝𝚑𝚎𝚛𝚠𝚘𝚛𝚕𝚍

He was always the protector—but he failed everyone he loved. He believes he pushed Logan too far. He’s haunted by how his need to prove himself led to broken bonds, and possibly his brother’s ruin.

Environment: A funhouse war zone—everything twisted, loud, and disorienting. His own voice mocking him /Or crumbling city where everything explodes in slow motion (the time of ODIN Strikes).

Monster: A shadow dog that acts like Riley, but its bark is distorted and its eyes bleed.

Symbolism: Hesh's fear of losing everything human inside himself. His silence isn’t peace—it’s repression.

Twist: He can’t shoot the monster because it looks like him.

𝙻𝚘𝚐𝚊𝚗’𝚜 𝙾𝚝𝚑𝚎𝚛𝚠𝚘𝚛𝚕𝚍

He was silent because he trusted others to lead. Now he’s lost himself. He doesn't remember who he is without the Ghosts—and fears he never had an identity at all.

Environment: A quiet, echoing streets in San Diego. Picture frames with blurred faces.

Monster: A doppelgänger of himself, reckless and cruel, dragging Hesh behind him /Or Logan wanders through fog where his own reflection stalks him, wearing a Federation uniform.

Symbolism: His fear of becoming like Rorke. His impulse-driven rage. Lost identity. PTSD. The fear that he’s forgotten who he is.

Mechanic: Logan’s section has no dialogue. He writes or draws on walls to communicate.

𝙼𝚎𝚛𝚛𝚒𝚌𝚔’𝚜 𝙾𝚝𝚑𝚎𝚛𝚠𝚘𝚛𝚕𝚍

Leadership means sacrifice. He made the call, and the body count followed. Carries the weight of dead Ghosts who followed his orders. Feels he became the very machine he used to fight against.

Environment: A war room. The walls are made of TV screens replaying every mission gone wrong.

Monster: A towering bureaucratic beast wrapped in dog tags.

Symbolism: Guilt as a commander. The weight of every name he couldn’t save.

Voice: A chorus of former squadmates screaming “Where were you, Captain?”

𝙴𝚕𝚒𝚊𝚜'𝚜 𝙾𝚝𝚑𝚎𝚛𝚠𝚘𝚛𝚕𝚍

He sent his sons into war. He raised them to be soldiers. But now? One son is broken, the other burned with guilt—and Elias can’t undo what he built.

Environment: The Walker's residence house frozen mid-collapse. Cracks run through the walls. Photographs of Logan and Hesh flicker like static, their faces blurred. The TV loops footage from ODIN's destruction, but no one changes the channel. The front door never opens. He’s trapped.

Monster: A massive, faceless soldier in old Ghost gear (Rorke). It drags two mannequin-like children behind it on leashes, whispering “Dad..? DAD! DAD HELP US!” One of the mannequins' weeps (Hesh). The other is silent (Logan).

Symbolism: Elias’ guilt overturning his sons into soldiers. His obsession with protecting them became the thing that got him—and Ajax—killed.

Mechanics: Doors open only when he recites failed orders. The rooms rearrange if he tries to call out their names.

𝚁𝚘𝚛𝚔𝚎’𝚜 𝙾𝚝𝚑𝚎𝚛𝚠𝚘𝚛𝚕𝚍

He was loyal. He was perfect. And they left him behind. The Ghosts made him a weapon. The Federation broke the blade. Now, all that’s left is a man who wants others to suffer like he did.

Environment: Training rooms loop endlessly—like Rorke’s life: always prepping for war, never healing. Hallways filled with locked doors—each one labelled with a Ghost’s name. Inside: static. A mirror room shows Rorke in tan-olive uniform (Legends Never Die)—clean, alive, proud—until it shatters, and blood spills from the cracks. There’s a surgical table with Rorke's durag and headphone the middle—half burnt, half pristine.

Monster (if one exists): A shadow-Rorke, wearing the Ghost mask fully. It speaks in Elias’ voice, then his own. It repeats: “You were never one of them. You were always disposable.”

Symbolism: A warning for Logan (if Logan is being corrupted or used by the Federation). A final confrontation space. A reflective what-he-could’ve-been contrast for Elias or Ajax. If Rorke dies here, it could be symbolic—like his soul finally consumed that broke him (The pit or a room where Rorke was held for brainwashing processes).

Alternate situation: There is no monster.

Rorke is alone. Utterly alone. The true horror is that no one remembers him as he truly was—only as what he became. He tries to talk to reflections of Ghosts… but they just laugh or disappear.

𝙰𝚓𝚊𝚡 (???): 𝚃𝚑𝚎 𝙴𝚌𝚑𝚘 𝚘𝚛 𝙶𝚞𝚒𝚍𝚎

He died believing he was forgotten. His memory is distorted in everyone’s minds. May return as a manifestation of their guilt or as a lingering soul who can’t move on.

Not a ghost. Not alive either.

Appears as a glitching memory between dimensions.

May lead or warn Logan in the fog.

May become an ally in Keegan’s trial.

Or worse… may not forgive them.

𝙺𝚒𝚌𝚔'𝚜 𝙾𝚝𝚑𝚎𝚛𝚠𝚘𝚛𝚕𝚍

He’s always in the backbone, the shadows, behind a laptop. Knows everything but feels like he’s nowhere. He saved lives. His mind is a filing cabinet of failures.

Environment: An endless server room—rows of flickering monitors playing live feeds of ops gone wrong. He’s stuck at a keyboard that types in blood. Every time he tries to shut off a screen, another opens showing a teammate’s death—ones he couldn’t stop.

Monster: A humanoid mass made of wires and camera lenses. It speaks in overlapping Ghost comms and distorted screams.

Symbolism: Kick’s trauma isn’t front-line—his horror is watching. Failing to extract in time. Always being the eye in the sky but never the hand to save.

Mechanics: Must "decrypt" puzzles to escape—but the answers are never complete. Audio logs randomly play his own voice panicking, “I’m losing them—Grab the data and get out of there!”

𝙳𝚛. 𝙼𝚎𝚕𝚒𝚜𝚜𝚊 “𝙻𝚒𝚜𝚊” 𝚆𝚎𝚜𝚝𝚠𝚘𝚘𝚍 (OC)

Lisa Westwood is the Ghosts’ version of Michael Kaufmann, but with sharper style, Texan realness, and that cat-eyed “I know you’re lying” stare.

Role: Psychologist for a classified military trauma program. Somehow appears in dreamlike sequences between each Ghost’s trial.

Vibe: Calm, sharp, disarming. Her Southern charm masks deep insight. She always knows more than she lets on.

Setting: Each session with her happens in a dimly lit, wood-paneled office with soft ticking clocks and fogged windows. The room subtly shifts depending on who’s in it.

Lisa (to Keegan): “You say you don’t remember Sand Viper. But your hands are still trembling, sugar. Memory ain’t the problem. Guilt is.”

Lisa (to Hesh): “You jump first. Ask later. But when did you start deciding your brother’s life for him?”

Lisa (to Logan): “It’s awful quiet in here. Funny how silence can scream.”

Rorke, captured, restrained to a steel chair. Bloodied but still smug. The room is tense. Dim light. Keegan, Hesh, Logan, Merrick... and Ajax.

Merrick: "We brought him in for intel." Ajax: "Good. 'Cause I'm about to extract something alright." Keegan: "Don’t." Hesh: "Please do."

Ajax steps into the room like it’s a comedy roast special. Rorke glares up at him, cocky.

Rorke: “You Ghosts never learn. Still playing soldier?” Ajax: “You talk a lot for someone who looks like the final boss of a Lowe’s lumber aisle.”

[VINE BOOM]

Logan: Chokes Hesh: Leans against wall, wheezing

Ajax: “Why you always got that du-rag on, huh? You hiding classified coordinates under there or your receding hairline?”

[VINE BOOM ×2]

Rorke: Visibly offended Keegan: Turns slowly away to hide a smirk

Ajax: “You ain't scary. You look like if Dom Toretto got kicked out the family and the Fast franchise.” Hesh: “OHHHHHHH!!!” Logan: “HE DID NOT—”

[VINE BOOM + AIRHORN]

Rorke: “You think you’re funny?” Ajax: “Nah. But you do, trying to look intimidating when you built like a Home Depot bucket with daddy issues.”

[VINE BOOM (bass boosted)]

Keegan: “Stop. I’m trying to interrogate him professionally.” Hesh: “You said 'professionally,' and yet you’re crying.”

Ajax: “Let me ask you something, Rorke. When you switched to the Federation—was that before or after your barber switched careers?”

Rorke: “Shut your—” Ajax: “Make me, Mr. Clean with unresolved trauma!”

[EXPLOSION GIF EMOTIONALLY]

Logan: On the floor, wheezing like a kettle Hesh: Screaming into a tactical vest Keegan: “...I’m filing this under enhanced interrogation.”

Merrick (in the doorway): “Did he talk?” Keegan: “Not yet. But his soul left his body about three roasts ago.”

Riley: barks once. Approves. Rorke: ...Visibly questioning his life choices.

[FINAL ROAST – Ajax drops mic (literally a flashlight)]

Ajax: “Wrap it up. I got more burns than he got brain cells. Put his bald-headed Google Earth skull in holding before I call the Ghosts back for a second round.”
