ARTIST’S STATEMENT

Main subject of my art is flowers. I come from family where herb   picking for tea is still alive experience every summer.  My enjoyment to draw flowers is coming from these childhood memories.  And now I am adding  for me new animal theme, warm relationships between mother and her younglings. I am using colour pencil drawing technic, that is quite complex and demanding, but still gives a lot to be playful.

Print pattens for fabric is other most loveable thing I do. But here I use mostly Adobe programs. Why I love making print patterns? Because of  COLOR. I love unpredictable colour interaction between each other. I make graphic compositions to experience directly  colour “moods” meeting forms and lines.

Bio

Viola Karule is textile print designer and painter from Riga. She has very valuable education: college degree in fashion design and BA textile art, as well good experience about textile print from exchange studies and internship program in UK.  

Her main themes are florals and animals. Her style is: rich colours and semi realistic pencil drawing.

She works with long term clients as sportswear sublimation print designer and as well collaborates with new brands for bespoke fabric print designs.

Viola is making personal shows to present her new paintings to bigger audience.  She now is creating her own hair and fashion accessories line.
