You have to recognize your capacity for harm. You cannot omit the harm you've done to others to remain "good." Anybody can be a bigot. Anyone can be an abuser. Anyone can harm anyone at any time even those who have been harmed themselves. The world is not made up of victims and villains only, this is life, not a Saturday morning cartoon and you are a human being who can or maybe even has hurt others and you HAVE to acknowledge that to learn to be better.

“It’s so weird that my mood and behavior is so dependent on something as silly as the sun being out ha ha” I think to myself, somehow forgetting that the sun is the main source of warmth and energy that is necessary for all life on earth and that every ancestor all the way back to the first living cells has spent their lives under her radiant warmth. The thing that’s truly “so weird ha ha” is that I could take her for granted as a factor of a mere factor of the environment, as if she isn’t the life giver whose behavior shapes the biological processes of every living thing

Black girls from the hood who buy dollar doorknockers, get their long nails done for cheap at the salon down the block, who wear $20 wigs and  who find their party outfits from Rainbows and rock  bright lipsticks from the the beauty supply store. They are culture. They created this “baddie IG” trend years and years ago, back when black girlhood was ugly and scary and ghetto to you.

I must not click on rage bait. Clicking is the algorithm-killer. Clicking is the little-death that brings more rage bait articles. I will face my rage bait. I will permit it to pass my for you page and through me. And when it has gone past I will turn the external eye to see my algorithm. Where the rage bait has gone there will be nothing. Only I and Muppet gifs will remain.

Are you trying to work a muscle but can't quite "feel" it?
The eccentric (negative) portion of an exercise seems to be good for feeling the muscles being worked as they stretch.
Start with an easier variation that you can easily control and try it out!
This is sometimes used as a recommendation to fix things like scapular winging.
Note: form also plays a large role! For example, bringing your shoulders back and down before a pushup helps you feel your chest muscles. The same form cue also seems to help people feel their lats in pullups too.
Hope you're well!

Genuinely, I don’t know how else to get the word out, but I feel like if your home-cooked dinners don’t taste right, you're missing either paprika, sugar, butter, or chicken bouillon.

steady companionship, washing the dishes, remembering each other's favorite food, mending the little traits and habits that make us insufferable to put up with, a constant affection that is not disturbed by fantastic highs or devastating lows, patience, good humor, a shared commitment to being good to each other. a mountain of happiness built one pebble at a time, every day, for decades.
and bids for attention returned positively at least seventy percent of the time, according to the sociologists.

objectifies you but in an objectum way. you don’t have to be a person anymore, you can just be a machine, a thing that does as it is told for a simple set of tasks, and that’s lovely. no need to be or worry about anything else.

lots of times if I tell my boyfriend that I am proud of him for dealing with a situation, or that I'm sorry he's having to deal with a situation, he will say "no it's my own fault." meaning that he feels like he doesn't deserve praise or comfort for dealing with a situation that is his fault. (for example a financial problem caused or exacerbated by him having been too anxious or absentminded to deal with the situation sooner.) and I tell him this and I will tell y'all this, that I don't believe that. I think you are even braver and stronger for taking steps to deal with a mess that is of or partly of your own creation, because you have to cope with guilt and shame on top of the thing itself, and because you're fighting against the same ingrained dysfunction in yourself that caused the mess. that's like the bravest and most constructive thing you can do and you should be proud and I am proud of you.
