Update (11/20)
Hey tumblr, I wanted to make a post with updated information. Firstly, thanks to everyone who lent out a helping hand, I’ve had to scrape by for a bit you’ve kept me afloat. I’m now in a state program that will help me find housing and they’ll help me with a new psychiatrist, therapist, and better hands-on assistance than most other programs. Hopefully within the next few months I’ll be able to leave and stay somewhere temporarily, until I can get on my own feet and eventually find a place with my partner, who is in a similar program, and is in a Voc Rehab program that will help him find employment suited for his needs. After weeks upon weeks of waiting, we’re in a more secure situation. As of right now, I’m still waiting on a paycheck and will receive one by the end of this week, but I still need help getting to and from work as well as paying for food and medications, so not majorly large expenses. This is the most relieved I’ve felt in a long time, I finally feel like I’m taking steps towards recovery and independence. Any help would be appreciated, be it through reblogging this post, or donating. If you oppose me making this post and asking for help, don’t interact with me or this post. I’m not forcing anyone to do anything. It’s as simple as that. Thank you!
cash.me/$tomi1 pp: [email protected] venmo: tominova Here’s a link to my fundraiser from the summer, although our plans have changed and we are semi-secure, this has doubled as an emergency savings used for sudden (usually medical) expenses

PSA- PLEASE READ
Okay, so I don’t usually make these, but this is something very, very important to me.
My girlfriend needs help getting out of Oklahoma.
She’s been pretty much under the thumb of an asshole, abusive ex, and she needs help getting away from him. Not only that, but she’s trying to get her daughter back.
Every dollar counts, guys. And if you could spread this, and help her out, I know both me and her would be EXTREMELY grateful.
Her gofundme is here!!: gf.me/u/fq5g8k

This is the one and only net neutrality post I’m going to make.
Breath. Take a sip of something. Hug something soft. Relax.
And I’m going to tell you exactly why you should relax.
If things happen to go south tomorrow and it gets repealed, (which things can change fast) nothing is going to happen right away. They don’t have a big switch to turn of everyone’s internet until you pay X amount.
What will happen is that the repeal will most likely be looked over a million times by hundreds of people. They will have to defend the repeal. And with so many new people involved things can change again.
So all of you who have been scared or anxious, take a step back for a minute and breath. It’s not the end. There’s still time for things to change. Please take care of yourselves.

Regardless of What Happens Tomorrow, Keep Contacting Your Reps
Your internet will not go black tomorrow if the FCC votes to repeal Net Neutrality. You’ll still have time to fight it.
People aren’t kidding when they say Congress can stop the FCC’s decision. If they vote to repeal NN, that just means to have to strike Congress even harder than before. We HAVE to convince them to overrule the FCC’s decision in that case.
We’re already making great strides. Republicans are speaking out against the FCC and telling them to cancel the vote altogether or put it off for further investigation and review first. Bills are being introduced by Congressmen to save NN. Hundreds and hundreds of businesses - including big name businesses - are banding together to protest, and you can bet they will be suing the FCC up and down if they vote to repeal the internet’s neutrality rules.
The only reason this is happening is because of public awareness and pressure. Asshole Pansy Pai may not care about the public, but our representatives are listening. They’re hearing us, and many of them are acting. We need to keep it up and get more on our side if we’re to ensure NN stays in place.
Whatever happens tomorrow, keep calling, texting, emailing, faxing, signing petitions, and doing all you can to save NN.
And if we ultimately win, whether tomorrow or in the future? The fight doesn’t stop there. They’ll keep coming back again and again unless we can get some permanent rules in place.
There are fights to make internet a state provided utility like water or electricity, provided by your local government rather than greedy ISPs. The few that have these set up in their towns already claim their internet is much faster and cheaper than ordinary internet already is. ISPs hate this, and are working to make this illegal, too. (That’s why it’s part of the repeals they’re trying to pass.)
Whether we go down that route or not, we need to fight to keep this situation from ever happening again. If we don’t, we might find ourselves losing someday.
Don’t let that happen.

i was going to make this a tags only post but i can’t. as someone who has severe social anxiety and agoraphobia, i don’t have any friends near me. not a single one. i do school online. my father’s job is 99% online. all of my friends and family are online. we need to keep net neutrality. i know the vote is soon, i know it’s a slim fucking chance, but we need to keep it. some people rely entirely on the internet for their livelyhood. please call congress at 202-759-7766 and text RESIST to 50409 and donate if you can. lives are at risk.

Hi,
I’m here to speak about Net Neutrality.
Basically, no.
We’re not gonna lose the internet tomorrow, it’s not gonna just disappear out of no where suddenly and suddenly be all laggy if the thing passes tomorrow. The process is completely longer than just that, it has to go through court and congress.
Also Net Neutrality was NOT a thing before 2015. Basically, we’ve been using the internet how we do now before Net Neutrality existed. No, I’m not saying I support the repeal but I’m saying that we are not gonna lose the internet immediately and I wanna point out,
Basically if a ISP does slow down a app/apps, they can lose business for just doing that. They will lose business if they make people pay for extra things. Basically, they can’t suddenly slow down everytbing because then they’ll have their business decrease largely.
Barely anything will even change. Although I may be wrong, I’m going based off the past. ISPs have never before made us pay for apps that are generally free. They have NEVER. Even before Net Neutrality was a thing. If you think logically, nothing is gonna immediately change, and it will likely barely change if you think about the past before it because it will go back to that. With basically.. nothing barely disturbed/changed.
Everyone around and posting about this saying things like the internet will IMMEDIATELY be destroyed and these people also probably have not properly researched about court processes and such. Long story short,
We’re gonna be fine.
We’ll be fine.
You’re not gonna immediately lose all your friends.
The internet isn’t gonna immediately go to shit. Please realize this.
