Ep. 2: AcquaintanceÂ
September 2017
From a city of 7 theatres to a city of 82 multiplexes. I have been here before several times with my brothers, but this time it was different. I was here to make a mark.
We call our flat â7S2â i.e. Block 7th flat S2. This city seems very complex from far but itâs just opposite once getting acquainted to it.
I have come here for my further studies and now its been more than a couple of months going for classes. The same institute I mentioned in my previous post. MAAC, Koramangala at 80 ft. inner ring road. Starting off the course already in Patna which is my hometown and coming here for continuation was not too difficult although that too faced a bit of trouble for transferring my course from a small town to a big city. All internal politics and strife for increment in course fee. Anyways, that got solved with the help of my brother and Chintu (one of our flatmate) who talked to the instituteâs Zonal head and sorted out the situation.
Coming for classes every morning soon became a routine and habit, after waking up, preparing breakfast for brother and myself I used to get ready to catch the bus to travel 15 kilometers. I also used to be the last person to leave the house in the morning and mostly first person to enter as well before the dusk. So, the responsibility to lock the house properly was on me and sometimes I used to forget to do so. For same reason I got scolding multiple times from my brother and Chintu. My brother even once stuck a paper on wall near the door of our room saying, âLOCK THE DOORâ, similar to the famous phrase from Game of Thrones âHold The Doorâ which eventually became the characterâs name HODOR. But I didnât let my brotherâs order become LODOR, I followed it with reverence thereafter. Ideally no one would come and steal something but if that happens we wouldnât know what was missing as everyone used to keep their belongings scattered on bed or in hall carelessly. It was actually more about my carelessness and the problem of feeble memory. Yes I have Alzheimerâs, well sort of. At least this is what I tell people when I forget to do something so that they wonât resent for long.
Moving on, those days were memorable. I am an ambivert and mostly like to stay aloof. But doing a course for more than 2 years, I canât keep shunning every time and eventually I made friends, well it wasnât me who approached people saying, âhey, will you be my friend?â first friend I can say was made from the same batch as mine and surprisingly that batch had only two students, me and that other person. Very obvious right. So that other person was an engineer having few years of working experience in an IT company but left everything behind to pursue animation as it was her passion. Oh and my story is likewise for doing animation course. Being too much devoted to console games, led me there, studying modeling and 3D Art in a hope that I would be a part of game or film making too. Well, friend list didnât stop there. After class I sometimes used to practice in institute itself, doing assignment and watching tutorials. One day I was finishing my task and a girl popped up next to me and asked, âhey would you like to take a free trial of our gym across the road?â For me it was so sudden I freaked out a little and answered, âI donât think so, Iâll let you know if I change my mindâ. But still she insisted me to fill a list of people interested to take trial class and asked my name and contact number. I thought okay, just give what she wants and get done with it. That girl there later became my friend and I got to know it was a trick just to get my contact number.
We used to hangout, sometimes going for outdoor activities like rock climbing or to stadium for gymnastics or parkour practices. She was into fitness and the same reason she approached me for. She had a crush on me but I never gave her much attention.
Now time came for an yearly competition named 24fps in MAAC, itâs a competition where pupils from all branches make a short film and submit to the main office, best movie wins with a proud announcement few trophies and cash prizes. Well, it was my first time participating in such event. Our branch made a group of people to enter the competition, we had around 4 months of time to finish the movie starting from scratch, from concept to post production.
Conceptualization - story board - asset creation (which includes sets, props, characters and environment modeling) - texturing - rigging - animation - visual effects - rendering - compositing - and finally sound editing.
My job was mainly to create assets and character animation. Doing which I enjoyed and learned a lot. Although our film didnât win I got 3 new friends from the group I worked in. We all 4 used to talk a lot, spend time a lot together, eating lunch, sharing personal matters, playing games in breaks like Dumb Charades. After completion of 24fps, 4 of us even shared same classes so our timings were same. After classes in evening we used to go to eat together at different restaurants in and around Koramangala. Discussing our future after the course on the table and what not. From funniest topics to a grave context. First time I went to Comic Con it was with them. We were Fantastic Four, at least our WhatsApp group name said so.
On the other hand, My life was going superfluous and smooth with my brother, as I was going to complete one year in the city. A city of magical weather. We planned to call our parents to Bangalore and go on a road trip for a week taking a break from everything and to spend family time. As planned, they arrived and stayed in a nearby hotel from our apartment. And very next day we were off to Coorg, which is called Switzerland of India. And it is indeed no less than that. Full of greenery and smell of coffee, It still reminds me the beauty of the place, a serene and relaxing environment. The rocky roads up to the top of the mountain revealing a vast view of the valley. It was all mesmerizing and best family trip till date.
My parents were experiencing famous South Indian dishes in itâs original style for the first time, whether it was from a home stay early morning breakfast or late evening dinner in a fancy vegetarian restaurants. They were pretty impressed with it. Those unforgettable tastes and smell are still alive and dwelling in the mind somewhere. Weather was making the trip even more wonderful, raindrop trickle on car window glass, misty air with everything around covered in fog.
Most amazing experience for me was water rafting at Dubbare Rainforest in Kaveri river which flows along with the outskirt of Madikeri district. The flow was still during most of the time but at few places where water flow was good enough to speed up the boat, the helmsperson used to stop and tilt the boat in a way that most of the upper body of the person sitting at the other side of him would go inside the stream to enjoy the current while getting drenched till waist. Me, my brother and my father even went in the river and swam a little. We all had swimming vest on so there was little chance of any risk. Although at one of the waterfalls, we decided to go near the top of the stream just before the water falls and were taking pictures. The surface near it was so slippery my brother flipped on the ground and at that very moment it felt so eerie we all stepped back to the safe place. But overall, the trip was indelible.
After my parents returned to hometown, me and my brother came back to our old routine with lots of memories and pictures to flaunt on social media.

2300 milligrams
Many a times, I listen people saying around me, "to maintain a proper fitness and build a good looking decent body, one have to follow a strict and proper diet". And this is 100% correct. But what I do not generally listen them saying is what diet one should have for the same. Different people give different opinions and routines of their diet. They baffle more than they suggest. And in curiosity, people often do online survey and research for diet chart of multiple celebrities. I was one of them.Â
I am a fitness freak. To get a perfect body shape, I started giving importance to exercise since my high school. And gave importance only to workout and not on the diet. Today after about 7 years of casual exercising, I felt the importance of a proper diet. I make sure to consume maximum 1 tablespoon of salt (2300 milligrams), no sugar at all and no mustard or refined oil in any sort of food a day. Mustard oil can be applied onto the body instead of intaking it. I generally start my day with a healthy and full of fiber breakfast i.e. muesli or oats mixed well with fruits like banana and pomegranate. My lunch mostly contains Chapattis, vegetable salad and curd. And I have chapattis, boiled vegetable with small amount of black salt, pepper and lemon drops, and pulse (Green Dal) as my dinner. That's all about my diet. No supplements or protein shakes. For me personally, this is sufficient to maintain a slender physique. Plus working out daily for minimum an hour is must, doing extra fitness activities like swimming, playing football or basket ball is plus. Many people say, 'earn well and enjoy the life, that's all. Because one day this body will get old and turn into ashes then you will realize how much time you wasted in doing exercise and all'. On this all Iâve to say is, while we do waste our time making it attractive but only because it has mental effect too, working out daily keeps the body and mind brisk the whole day.Â
Everyone spends a casual life of human. What people like me do is try to live a life of extraordinary human. By not wasting but spending only an hour out of each 24. Who doesn't want to look good and fit? But only those people who doesn't have faith in themselves stays behind in this race and make various excuses. There are again two types of people in this category. One who build their body going to gym day and night and working out intensely to be a macho whose biceps, triceps, chest, shoulder and each parts of body becomes conspicuous even from a mile away and people who exercise just to stay slender and fit enough to enhance their personality. I reckon I belong to the latter group. And that's what I always look forward to. Talking about the former group of people, it generally happens due to lack of knowledge and vision. Most of them doesn't even know before starting exercising that how they want to be looked. And coming to gym and exercising for a good time just become perpetual even after achieving a nice physique. on the contrary I believe that if you have no intention heading to that field of body building competition, it's unnecessary. It doesn't look good at all on anyone. I am in no position to tell anyone what to do or what not, but some people just need a reality check about the outlook. So just try to stay positive, stay fit and have faith in yourself.

Ep. 1: First Step
November 2015
I came out through the exit gate with a big trolley, a backpack and a traveler bag. It was too heavy to carry at once, but somehow I managed to get it all out of the Bangalore City Station, waiting under a tree for my brother to come and pick me. Â
The time in my watch was 2200 hrs. It was all dark outside and chilly breeze was flowing. I was informing my mother through âWhatsAppâ about my safely arrival and that irritating kid in my birth with incessant crying throughout my whole journey except while slumbering.
I saw a pair of canvas shoes walking towards me and said, âHero ban kar aaye ho..!â My brother had come in a dark Tee and Denim jeans. He was the same as I saw him before, no less no more. I was happy seeing him more than finally being in that city.
He took my traveler bag, and we started moving to the main road as the Uber was waiting there for us.
My brother resides in a rented Apartment âGanga Chelstonâ which is located in Munnekolal area of Marathahalli. He shares the flat with other four guys. They are friendly in nature and work in IT same as my brother but in different companies. The huge 3BHK apartment with a beautiful view of garden and pool outside the balcony and a big drawing room, well furnished, Everything is shiny and well maintained.
After I entered the Main Gate of Ganga Chelston, It was all green around me and the fragrance of the flower was mesmerizing. Block 7, Flat no. S2 was our destination. A guy opened the door after my brother belled it. He was Ankush, kind and aloof. Lives in his own world most of the time. Communicates only if needed. We came in my brotherâs room which is now I can say âourâ room, I was just a naĂŻve there. But I do consider to keep it clean and neat from every angle. Thatâs my responsibly as I like to keep my surrounding tidy and uncluttered. I saw a huge monitor kept on the table. A 27â inch monitor and a âSony PlayStation 4â kept beside it. I was surprised and happy as well. All I knew that he will be buying it in forthcoming weeks or months but it was already there.
It was midnight already and brother got us food, we ate and left the bags unsettled on the floor. I made my bed to get ready to sleep. I fell asleep in half an hour. The next day was Sunday that meant my brother had time to make me understand everything about the place, stores nearby, protocols, consumption of food, expenditures etc. He was sleeping till 10 am and I woke up early as it was the new place for me and automatically my natural alarm rang in my head at 6:28 am. The first thing I did was to clear up my part of the shelf and unpack my bags. First part was done and he woke up.
We made a list of essential items to buy from market. And headed to get those. On return I unpacked my bags and settled my clothes and accessories in my closet. I adjusted the Table on which I kept my PC along with PS4. After adjusting everything at its place, we went to Star Bazar for further marketing of fruits, sweets and other items. Everything was new for me so excitements level was on top. In evening we went for swimming with Chintu (One of those four guys, funny, Punjabi and relaxed kind of guy). It was fun and too much for the day one.
Second day was my judgment day. As the night before I decided to go to check on MAAC in Koramangala, all by my own, alone. Next morning I woke up at 5:30 am and went to gym with Chintu for about half an hour, After my return I woke my brother as he had to go to office. I gave him breakfast, he got ready and was begone. I was having enough information for which bus to take and where to change etc. I headed to my destination. First I took a bus 500F from Spice Garden (bus stand near our apartment in Marathahalli). The bus conductor told me to get off the bus on next stoppage as its going to Central Silk Board and not to Koramangala. I did the same, next I took a bus 335 for Domlur Bridge then hired an auto to Koramangala Block 6th as it was my first time there and I had to explore the area by any means. While in Auto, on 100 Ft. Ring Rd., finally my eyes met with the hoarding of MAAC on a building. That was it.Â
As the auto was prepaid and not on the meter, I told the driver to keep going to the 6th Block as I had to explore the area as well. I got off the auto paying him the decided amount and across the road was the 8 floors huge multiplex/office of something and it was pretty vacant. Rarely any people were going in that. I first took a look around that building, its entrance, stairs and all. Then started accelerating up to the top floor so that I could get a nice view of the area just like the main character does to synchronize the city in Assassins creed. I did the same. I was on the 7th floor and few wall glasses were tilted outwards that gave me a perfect three sided top view of the city. It was nice. I was enjoying the wind more than the view.
Koramangala Bus Station/Depot was adjacent to that building. I went there after coming down steadily to inquire about any direct bus from there to Spice Garden. It was Bus no. 411. But it rarely shows up on the street. So the last option left with me was to pick those same buses for the same route in reverse. Koramangala to Domlur Bridge, Domlur bridge to Spice Garden. I was back in about an hour to the flat. i was famished so I cooked few things and devoured. It was thundering outside impending a torrent. After eating, I started doing my work on PC, then suddenly light was out, it came after 5 seconds, it went again in 2 seconds then came in 3 seconds. This happened for less than a minute.
Water droplets started showing up so I went to balcony for a lull in that nice weather. Few moments later, I heard someone called my name and I saw my brother was on the door taking off his shoes to enter. He came and asked about my day, I described him everything then he played game âDriveclubâ (the only game he was having then) on PS4 meanwhile I drew a Portrait Sketch and played with my âsmartphonesâ.
Later everyone (the rest of the flat mates) started showing up and I started to write this journal and did some work. That day I was filled up with lots of information and rules, patterns of the city.
My initial days were rapid but nice though.

GOD - Generator Or DenominatorâŚ. Really!!
India, the only country having infinite number of GOD (about 300 lakhs or more). GOD is no one but a deity. According to ancient methodology, they do exist possessing supernatural power and all. But it is only limited to Hindu epic stories. But this modern age has seen no such things like them which existed back then. People say, GOD has made us, and we created epic stories, such as like Ramayana, Mahabharata etc. Valmiki and Vyasa made us aware of those legends through transcripts of those stories. Just think for once, what would the todayâs scenario be like if they would not have written those epic stories, what if we were clueless about those great men i.e. Rama, Krishna etc. which enlightens my point, that GOD has not made us but 'we created GOD'. Its just a belief of being good that is always there. And this is mostly being harnessed as threat to stop perpetrators to do anything wrong, they think if I do wrong, late iâll be punished by the almighty.Â
Almost every Indian household worship everyday and pretend to be pious specially women, because they are more sentimental as male are. If weâll do a survey, weâll find 90 % of women do believe in GOD and men only 70%. fortunately or unfortunately I am not one of them. I consider myself a atheist, hence this article. If you are a devotee its better you do not proceed further in this article.Â
I want to ask all believers that why you worship GOD on daily basis and what you get in return? If your answer is happiness & satisfaction then I must say, those you can get by helping some needy and poor also if you are really a good person, donât even have to do that, just take of your own body and health and make sure you do nothing wrong or you donât hurt anyone. God will be much happier by seeing you like that. otherwise you are doing that only to show others and yourself that you are a good person but being a sanctimonious. You doing that only because you donât want any trouble to you or your family in selfishness.Â
Now a days, You can now âbuyâ them made of Glass, Metals etc. I believe, by moving the or light clockwise or anti-clockwise and ringing the bell daily in front of those framed pictures and statues will not wake up any GOD, you are just wasting your time by doing so. You need to wake your inner soul, the goodness within you, and doing well to everyone if not everyone then to at least yourself by not hurting anyone, then only you can expect happiness to you and your family. All people should rather do is something productive or creative. In my opinion, only those people pray to GOD who doesnât have a good soul, because most probably they little mistakes every day and beg forgiveness for that in front of the still pictures daily. But those having good souls who are doing good things to themselves and others really need not to bow their head in front of anything. Because GOD (or say Goodness) exists within himself only, he need not to find GOD somewhere else or in any lifeless statues. So, at last I must say, before you believe in GOD, first believe in yourself, stay in logical and pragmatic world.Â
Some people believe, Ghosts or evil spirit exists. On this I have to say only one thing, in this 21st century, its very unlikely to have faith or trust even on a real person whom we can see, touch and feel, So, how can we believe on stories which we just hear without experiencing it.
In conclusion, all I want to say is, first believe in yourself and your hard work towards society and family then in spare time if you have nothing creative or productive to do then sit quietly and meditate. Thatâs the only way of relaxing the mind and body instead of chanting mantras and playing with amulets.

That long walk in Judiciaryâs World
âSaath hin Rehiyegaâ as I heard this line from my advocate I started walking along with him. Wherever he was going I was just following him without even knowing what was my purpose to be there and why this person in black suit had called me sharp at 3 pm! yesterday he ask my mom to send me to Civil Court, Patna by 3 pm, accordingly I reached there at 2:50 pm. And exactly after 9 minutes he came to his âTable no. 21â where I was already waiting for him. When I was entering the campus of Civil Court, few advocates were waiting there for whom I donât know maybe for every âstrangersâ passing through. As I was looking for a place to park my bike, one of them reached me and started asking about âwhat work I need to get done hereâ. I said, âmy advocate is already waiting for me insideâ. As soon as I uttered this, he stepped aside and started looking for another guy. He reminded me of those people standing outside of Collectorate Ghat road shouting and asking every person passing by about affidavit, certificates work etc. Then I thought whatâs the difference between those poor guys and this LLB degree holder men in black corporate suit at that very moment..!
My father sometimes used to pester me to pursue LLB and become an advocate after completion of my graduation. But after seeing this, I thought I would be investing 3 years of my life for LLB to be like on of these guys who are wandering here and there all day in search of clients.! I would rather go for my passion and earn negligible. Anyways, when I started following advocate Surendra Arya, I was thinking that weâll go to some office somewhere in this campus, will complete the work in around 15 minutes, and then Iâll be back to home. But nothing like that happened, once we started walking, we kept walking throughout the campus of Civil Court with the interval of 2-3 minutes in every 7-8 minutes of walking from office to office, one corner to other for complete 2 hours as that campus is no less colossal than any other campus of famous University.Â
It was my luck that the weather was pleasant and was about to rain otherwise I would have withered and die in sweat. At 3:40 pm, advocate was inside an office and I was sitting outside and waiting for him during interval time on a bench, that time itself I got to know that why my advocate wanted me to be there. He came out to call me and asked to come along with him inside and there in a corner a fat and round guy was sitting on chair other side of the table having 2-3 people around and was chatting with them about the same perpetrator we also had filed the case against. A broker who used to sell lands of other person, and eloping upon getting more than 50% of amount for the land. I was thankful to myself at that moment that at least that fat guy knew that much about Jai Shankar Prasad aka Bhola Saw who did the same with us along with many others after receiving Rs. 8.5 lakhs from my dad alone and vanishing.Â
He told my advocate to come after half an hour as the person having the copy of FIR will come at the same time. According to the rule, whomsoever the case belongs to, only that person can get the copy of FIR and the very reason I was there for. Like us, few other people were also enduring this pain of money cheating from Bhola Saw and for the same matter the FIR was lodged from our side too. Fortunately few months back he got caught and was sent behind the bars. My advocate wanted the copy of the same to strengthen our case.Â
Again we started walking to various offices and I kept tailing him for another 10-15 minutes. Then finally we returned to table no. 21, I sat on the chair where generally his other clients also sit and he sat on the main chair facing me. Suddenly one another advocate sat aside me and kept a plastic bag on the same table, he then took out a lunch box from that bag, I saw my advocate doing the same and suddenly I realized it was the Lunch time for them. I was not starving so I started playing Flappy Bird and tried breaking my own record of 101. After about 10 minutes of eating bread with what I donât know, he told me to come with him to the same office to collect copy of FIR, I followed him, when we reached there, the same person said, âthe man having copy hadnât returned yet and I donât think anymore heâll come today, so better come tomorrow or day after tomorrow. I swivel, pointed my nose towards the exit and left that office.
While returning to Table no. 21, advocate Surendra Arya asked me to check over Police Station HQ for the complaint we lodged, so we went there on my bike and within 10 minutes advocate came outside of the station saying âitâs done, now within a week the complaint will be transferred to Kankarbagh Police Station through Court.â My level of satisfaction increased a liâl bit. I then left Police Station and back to Civil Court to drop him carrying few documents and files. While returning, it started raining, I had no issues with it as I enjoy every drop of rain but the problem was with the advocate, he didnât want to get wet so asked me stop the bike somewhere and wait for it to stop. We waited for about 10 minutes there and I hated that moment most in the day coz it was not worthwhile and wasting my time standing still under a roof. The advocate told me that our work is like this only that even if we are ill or having some sort of urgency at home we have to be present there in court, we canât stay at home on a working day at any cost, we take medicines if we feel sick but we have to be present every working day. And again I thought about papa suggesting me to pursue.. and suddenly the cloud of thoughts popped as he said to go Civil Court as rain slowed down. I started my bike, he sat behind me and within 5 minutes, we were in front of his office where there was table no. 21. After he jumped off, I finally throttled towards my destination and returned to my peaceful home.
