Munich, Germany - where to stay in munich
Helloooooo München. München is a very walkable city if you are willing. Only once did we use the public transportation. Uh we used the ubahn? I think that's what it's called. The ubahn! Umm yes, we were on the opposite side of where we needed to be and it was at night, so that's what we did. Otherwise we walked anywhere that we went. Now most of what you are seeing right now is the Marienplatz. And just so you know, the Marienplatz is about a 20-minute walk away from the train station. And we had to keep our luggage there the day that we arrived for several hours, but the lockers that we used were quite inexpensive, maybe 6 Euros each. So, just so you know. *funky music plays* This place! Which I'll put the name on the screen because I shant be trying to pronounce that. Aaanyhoozles. It is -- I don't know if it's considered near or within the Marienplatz. It's a big food market, uh, with other little trinkets to peruse around. My husband and I went there a handful of times, and there was one night that we ate at a restaurant near it. Umm and we decided just to um, to split the meal. One the prices were a tad steep and we thought surely the portion will be big enough for two. Haha, NO. Uh it was more like a snack for two. A really really good snack. But since it didn't completely satisfy our appetites, we uhh, before we went home for the night, there was just a block away from where we were staying, a pizza place that we indulged in a little bit. And they carried ice cream! These tiny, itty bitty little.. baby.. sized.. ice creams. I'm not entirely sure what the proper size. Term. I'm looking for. Aaanyway. Uh, that's what we ate, and that's my story. Cool. *classy piano music plays* During our stay in München we used Airbnb, and the the lady that we stayed with had this absolutely massive dog named Sheeva. Who had this really impressive deep bark, but ahh man Sheeva was just one big marshmallow on the inside. Ahh, probably one of the highlights of our stay in München. It was great. *guitar music plays* https://youtu.be/e384ThceLmI

How to Attend the Oktoberfest in Germany
How to Attend the Oktoberfest in Germany. Hoping to go to the world's biggest beer festival in Munich, Germany? These travel tips will help. You will need Hotel reservations and beer tent reservations. Step 1. Know the history of the Oktoberfest -- the festival first took place in Munich in 1810 to celebrate the marriage of Bavaria's Crown Prince Ludwig I to Princess Therese of Sachsen-Hildburghausen. The original Oktoberfest began on October 12 and lasted 5 days, but the 2-week festival now starts in late September to take advantage of the warmer weather. Step 2. Book a hotel in Munich as early as possible. There are many within walking distance of the fairgrounds, but with up to 6 million visitors attending the celebration each year, some sell out more than a year in advance. Consider staying in a hotel just outside Munich if you're on a budget. Step 3. Book seats in a few beer tents, especially if you want to drink during the popular evening hours. Some of the larger tents require reservations; others offer seating on a first-come, first-served basis. Go to "Oktoberfest.de/en":http://www.oktoberfest.de/en for tent information and phone numbers. Be nice to the beer maids in Germany! They can tip you off to reserved seats that won't be occupied for a few hours. Step 4. Watch the opening ceremonies when the mayor of Munich taps the first keg on the first day of the festival. It's not easy to get a seat in the beer tents on opening day, but you can still enjoy the carnival rides and food stands. Every Tuesday from noon to 6 p.m. is "Family Day," with discounted rides. Young children aren't allowed in the tents after 8 p.m. Step 5. Pace yourself! The only beer size served in the tents is 1 liter -- equivalent to almost 3 bottles of beer. You don't want to be carted off to the medical tent to recover with the other _Bierleichen_ -- which means beer corpses! Did you know In 2004, the bathroom lines at the Oktoberfest were so long that the police had to be called in to monitor them.https://youtu.be/29pPX_VckRI
