     “It’s a figure of speech- like, ‘how are things going for you?’ If you’re doing okay…?” Already he could feel his face heat up, the beat of his heart ever increasing, realizing how foolish he must have sounded. Did the Angaran really not understand? Apparently not, made sense, seeing how they were new to the whole human interaction thing.

     “If it makes you comfortable, feel free to stay here. But you don’t have to be a stranger to everyone- we are all in this together. If you ever need someone to talk to, or help you with- whatever you’re doing.” Hands moved to his hips, gesturing with a nod to the work scattered among his desk. “You know I’m more than willing to help you out. What is it you’re working on?”

     a contented chuckle leaves him -- the sound is deep, and rumbling, like lightning across a low bridge. he follows scott’s gaze to the work on his desk, where his rifle lays completely dismantled. he carries himself over, gesturing for the human to follow in the process. careful hands run over the pieces of the kett technology, intermingled with angaran to make it more powerful than before.

     “it is my own. i made it from scratch. it’s just... a project, i’ve had. i enjoy taking things apart,” he explains. “something to do. when my hands are not busy, i tend to---------” what is the word? fidget? no, not quite. “worry. i worry if i have nothing to do.”
