Hay voces que nos recorren sin necesidad de gritar ni de un amplificador. Esta lo hace en ‘shipibo’, una de las 47 lenguas originarias del Perú. Este teaser es la antesala de un reportaje sonoro que realizamos en Nuevo Saposoa, una comunidad nativa del Ucayali, y que publicaremos en forma de #podcast

Los pobladores de Saposoa nos mostraron las costumbres Shipibo Konibo tal y como las viven en el presente, aislados por horas de viaje en bote de las grandes ciudades, poniendo en el centro el río y su alimento, el bosque y su aire puro y su poderosa cosmovisión que las mujeres artesanas traducen en una bellísima artesanía Kené, donde nunca encontrarás un diseño igual al anterior. El hambre y la deficiente sanidad y educación también forman parte de su día a día. Ellos y ellas son los dueños y guardianes de la Amazonía y se exponen a situaciones en las que ponen en peligro sus vidas con tal de proteger y defender sus territorios. Gracias a su estructura comunal y a su actual integración en el Programa Nacional de Conservación de Bosques para la Mitigación del Cambio Climático (Ministerio del Ambiente) han logrado ponerle fin, por ejemplo, a la tala ilegal.

Vor einigen Wochen bin ich auf eine Anzeige von saal-digital auf Instagram bzgl. einer Wandbild Testaktion gestoßen. 

Es geht hierbei um ein 50€ Gutschein, welches bei der Bestellung eines Wandbildes eingelöst werden kann. Im Gegenzug dazu wird der Tester gebeten seine Erfahrungen zu teilen. Dies soll mein kurzer Erfahrungsbericht sein.

Bewerbungsphase

Über den Link in der Anzeige gelangt man sofort auf eine Seite mit dem "Bewerbungsformular". Man soll ein wenig über sich schreiben und Angaben zu seiner Person machen sowie den beruflichen Schwerpunkten.

Ich durfte an der Testaktion teilnehmen und bereits am nächsten Tag eine Mail mit dem Gutscheincode erhalten.

saal-digital Angebot

Wer Saal-Digital bereits kennt, kennt auch die unzähligen angebotenen Produkte - von Fotoabzügen über Fotobücher bis hin zu hoch qualitativen FineArt prints.

Bei den Wandbildern hat man die Auswahl zwischen 6 verschiedenen Bild-Typen: Alu-Dibond, Acrylglas, Alu-Dibond Butlerfinish®, Hartschaumplatte, GalleryPrint und Fotoleinwand.

Die Produkte und die Eigenschaften werden auf der Webseite sehr gut beschrieben.

Des Weiteren werden bei allen Wandbild-Arten diverse Aufhängungsvarianten zur Auswahl gestellt und natürlich eine große Anzahl an vordefinierten Formaten angeboten; wobei hier auch ein Wunschformat angegeben werden kann, womit man nahezu beliebige Formfaktoren realisieren kann.

Meine Wahl fiel auf Alu-Dibond Butlerfinish, in Größe 50 x 50 (cm) und ohne Aufhängung. Das Bild soll auf einem Sideboard aufgestellt werden.

Bestellprozess

Auf das ausgewählte Alu-Dibond Wandbild sollte ein Instantbild (Film von Impossible Project mit SX-70 geschossen) abgebildet werden. Ich war sehr neugierig wie sich ein Instant-Foto auf einem Alu-Dibond in Bezug auf Farben verhält bzw. wie die Wirkung des Bildes sein wird.

Das Bildmaterial hatte ich laut Kriterien, die auf saal-digital gelistet sind, vorbereitet.

ICC-Profile für alle angebotenen Produkte werden auf Saal-Digital zur Verfügung gestellt.

Ich wollte auch die angebotene Saal Design Software (auf Windows PC) ausprobieren.  

Die Software ist sehr übersichtlich und intuitiv zu bedienen. Man wird durch die Auswahl der Optionen und schrittweise zu dem Auslösen der Bestellung geführt. Ich fand es sehr angenehm offline zu arbeiten und auch die Möglichkeit zu haben, wenn nötig, ein Schritt zurück zu gehen, um Änderungen an dem ausgewählten Produkt bzw. angebotenen Optionen zu machen.

Am Freitag wurde die Bestellung abgeschickt und schon am Montag wurde das Bild versendet.

Wandbild

Ich war gespannt auf das Bild. Leider war ich verreist und musste ein Paar Wochen warten bis ich das Bild betrachten konnte.

Und mein Fazit - einfach klasse! Das Instantfilm auf einem Alu-Dibond kommt super zur Geltung.

Die Farbgebung ist wie von mir vorgegeben und die Farben nicht verfälscht; die Kontraste und dunkle bereiche ein wenig verwaschen/Kontrastarm aber kommt natuerlich von den Film-Charakteristiken. Die gebürstete Struktur gibt dem Ganzen einen einzigartigen Touch. Vor Allem wenn die Lichteinstrahlung auf das Bild geändert wird, spürt man regelrecht die Tiefe des Bildes.

Das einzig negative Punkt im Bezug auf Alu-Dibond in meinen Augen ist die doch scharfen Kanten des Produkts. Ich bin mir nicht sicher ob die Kanten nach dem Schnitt in irgendeiner Weise "gesäubert" werden aber ich konnte beim Auspacken ein wenig Alu-Spänen an den Kanten sehen.

Fazit

Eine tolle Aktion von saal-digital! Ich möchte hier ein großes Danke sagen und folgende Punkte hervorheben:

- Die Kommunikation mit dem Team von saal-digital war sehr freundlich, unkompliziert und Antwortzeiten schnell

- Der Bestellvorgang unkompliziert und flüssig   

- Und die Lieferung innerhalb weniger Arbeitstage - bei mir nur einen Tag

- Eine sehr gut strukturierte, informative und intuitive Webseite

- Hilfestellungen zu allen Fragen ist sehr leicht auf der Webseite zu finden

- Auswahl der Produkte sowie Optionen laesst keine Wuensche offen- 

- Die Qualität ist großartig

GOING EAST – A family adventure on four wheels … from Lars Schneider on Vimeo.

This is a film about a young family and one of their biggest adventures.

In the spring of 2013, Katrin and Lars Schneider, adventure sports photographers from Hamburg, Germany, flew to California with their eight-months old son Fietje, bought a 1971 VW Westfalia camper van and started a road trip through the US Southwest.

The three of them travelled for two months, drove their van around 5.500 kilometers and explored the beautiful nature of the Southwest. They went from California to Nevada and Utah and back to California via Arizona. Along the way they payed a visit to many of the beautiful State and National Parks like Death Valley, Joshua Tree, Valley of Fire, Bryce, Zion and the Grand Canyon.

They experienced family life on the road and the happiness of life without luxury but with pure freedom. All Katrin, Lars and Fietje needed for these 60 days of exploring easily fit into their small bus. It wasn't always an easy journey but a beautiful experience they'll never forget.

And this was only the first leg of a bigger project – within the next five years or so they plan to come back to the US every now and then and to drive the bus to the East Coast via the most scenic route, to continue with this adventurous road trip.

Canyon Endurace: The Outsider from Lars Schneider on Vimeo.

In February 2016 I went to the Faroe Islands, one of the most beautiful places I have seen so far. One reason for the journey was to produce imagery, both stills and film for Canyon Bikes. We brought their all new Endurance CF SLX road bike which was just presented to the public last week and had a blast, shooting both in beautiful and extremely harsh conditions on these amazing islands.

The man on the bike is Peter Bender and not only does he look good as a rider, he is also responsible for the great editing of the film as well as the grading and sound design.
