The weekend before the Fourth of July nuptials, I thought it would be fun to get the girls together for a good old-fashioned sleepover to say “Goodbye” to Cristina’s INDEPENDENCE -get it?!

The invitation asked that everyone bring either a Red, White and/or Blue Pajamas + a bottle of bubbly and I must say my girls DELIVERED. 

Sweets by G & SweetCravings teamed up (again) and made amazing desserts that included a chocolate fountain accompanied with blueberry, strawberry & marshmallow skewers, mini brownie & cheesecake bites and even R,W&B mini cupcakes in the shape of a bikini!  

The plan was to start off the night munching on treats & sipping on champagne and eventually surprise the bride with a Letters to the Bride Scrapbook filled with letters from the brides parents, brother, bridesmaids, in-laws & her hubby-to-be. Scrapbooks were H U G E when Cristina and I were growing up so Karla came to me with this brilliant idea of making one final scrapbook for Cristina before she became Mrs. De La Grana. 

It was so surreal look at all of the scrapbooks from our adolescence. So much had changed since the pictures taken in those books yet when I looked around the room, I realized nothing had really changed at all. 

The rest of the evening was spent opening gifts, drinking even more champagne and ended with a sparkler dance party in Cristina’s backyard. The perfect end to our old-school slumber party. 

What an emotional day filled with surprises, laugh-til-you-cry moments and most of all, LOVE.

P.S. A very special someone was missing from Cristina’s Independence Weekend- Nurse Jessica was on a mysterious trip that her boyfriend, Ben, had planned for them before his move to North Carolina… When she told me about this, I could just smell the diamond ring. I’m sure deep down inside, she knew it too! 

Low and behold, when I arrived at Cristina’s, we got a very special face-time call-our Jessy Bear was engaged!!
