“I wasn’t planning to speak to you. The petulance would be unseemly regardless, though.”
“I’m sorry, but if you want me to listen to you, you’re going to have to say something interesting.”

“Maybe some cucumbers- basil, even. A vegetable garden would be fun.”
“That would be nice. I don’t have much of a green thumb myself, so my knowledge of vegetable gardening is limited, to say the least.”

“There’s no harm in asking. What do you want to grow?”
“Do you think that I’d be allowed to have my own little garden here? Just a small one- it would be nice, wouldn’t it?”

“Indeed, yes, but after a long time you just feel like you know everything there is to know in here even if you don’t know half of it.”
“It really does get claustrophobic, although I think that has more to do with the hotel than anything.”

“I’ve been alright, thank you for asking. A bit bored lately,” she replied with a shrug. “How about you dear?”
“I’ve been well. Busy, but that’s nothing new.”

“Okay, this is great, this is super. Most of the time people are looking for romance or mystery. Crime is underappreciated. Tragically so. There’s the Millennium trilogy if you haven’t read it yet, by Stieg Larsson. It should be at any book store you can find — I think. Americans really bought into it. Henning Mankell has a pretty impressive number of novels. He writes the books about Wallander. I think they did a British version of it some years ago.”
“I think I’ve read the first Millennium novel — that’s The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, isn’t it? — but never got around to the sequels. Maybe it’s time to pick those up again. I’ll take a look at the Mankell novels as well, Wallander sounds familiar.”

“Yes, it’s a long time to stay away from home but worthy it when it’s about your safety.”
“It is. And Shanghai is an interesting city.”

“Of course, I don’t mind. I’ve been rather bored lately, anyways,” Clarissa said with a smile before gesturing for her to follow.
Milena returned the French queen’s smile and followed her. “Other than that, how have you been?”

Sorry I’ve been inconsistent for the past week, things have been hectic but I’ll be more active going forward. I’d love some more plots, and I have a wanted connections page here. (I’m also thinking of picking up a second character, probably a princess, so if anyone has any wanted connections lmk)

“Oh, I see. I’ve been here for around six months so I know the place a bit.”
“Six months, that’s quite a while. I’m just barely settling in.”

“So was I. It isn’t the best tour, apparently.”

“Trust me, it takes a couple of days at least.” He began walking. “This place is far too big, it makes my childhood home seem small.” Despite them both growing up in palaces.
“The ways the hallways are configured makes it more difficult to get a good mental image.” Milena agreed, following him.”

“A bit of both. I haven’t had too much time to explore.”
