🔊 #Throwback to 2019 at 101.5 The Hawk (Now called INDI 101.5) ⬅️ I just released my album Right As Rain and had a chance to talk about it and my journey 🙌🏽🌧 I have made some big steps since this, both health wise and professionally. ♖♟ Lessons from revisiting Chess ♜♗ Recently, I got the chance to play chess with my friend! It must have been over 6 years since I last played. Here are some of my re-discoveries/takeaways about the game and myself. ♕♞♞♕ 1. You must balance being in the present, and the future. You have to plan a couple moves ahead, but If you look too far in advance you may not see what the other player is plotting in the moment, and may risk losing a piece. *Side note* There were times in the game where I would accidentally knock my piece down, or start a move and then forget where my piece started. I found this interesting, an indication/sign that I was too fixated on what’s next and not acknowledging where I have been. 2. See the big picture! You have to make sacrifies, and be okay with your decisions. What are you willing to lose in order to reach your goal? If you don’t get comfortable with losing some pieces you can’t ultimately win. 3. Every piece has a purpose, and is valuable. Understanding how to use those pieces synergistically and in coordination with each other, is how you can build a strong strategy. Remember, it is only the Pawn that can bring your Queen back! 
It’s not so hard to see how the points above can be applied to our lives, when we are in the midst of pressure, or stressful times. I am very thankful to re-experience chess and to integrate and acknowledge some of my patterns, and traits. 𝐹𝑙𝑎𝑠ℎ𝑏𝑎𝑐𝑘⚡️! 𝗧𝗼 𝗛&𝗛 𝗣𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 … 𝗖𝗵𝗼𝗰𝗹𝗮𝗶𝗿 (post part 1) 🐝I am still b̾u̾z̾z̾i̾n̾g̾ !!! and it’s been one week since the event. For those who were in attendance, you 𝕜𝕟𝕠𝕨 how special the night was. 𝕋ℍ𝔸ℕ𝕂 𝕐𝕆𝕌 for being part of this epic, memorable concert. 🙏🏽 I had a 𝑔𝑜𝑎𝑙 of booking someone who was a Juno nominee, I had no idea it would turn out to be a 4 x Juno award winner.
