The homestay was a real highlight and the hospitality was really homely, so much so I would have preferred to stay one more night! The trip has potential to add one or two more days to the itinerary. The level of trek is moderate because there are slippery points to be wary of. Apart from the 2nd quarter of the hike, the rest is fairly plain sailing but if you are not wearing good footwear and have balance issues, this maybe not be suitable.

It was a sleeper bus so it was a very comfortable journey here. We stayed in a family run hotel called ‘Hung Phuc Mui Ne Hotel' just outside the main town. The hotel was lovely, cheap and absolutely spotless. There was a beach bar called ‘ Pogo' about a five minute drive away from the hotel. I was very happy to be back on a beach. The next morning we got up at 4am to go to the white sand dunes for sunrise. Hence our decision to go here for sunrise. Unfortunately we didn't get the amazing sunrise we wanted, but the wind sculpted, pale yellow sands were still really beautiful to see. Prepare for a lot of tourists and quad bikes disrupting the peace. Expect for the hard sell of plastic sledges from children travel to vietnam slide down the dunes.
