It’s not enough for people to tell me that I should or shouldn’t do something in paganism or witchcraft.
I need an explanation as to why.
Why do I need to perform this ritual in this specific way?
Why do I need this specific ingredient in this spell?
Why is this thing considered right/wrong in such-and-such belief system?
“Because that’s just the way it is,” has never been a satisfactory answer for me. It only tells me that a person either doesn’t know the answer, or has chosen to withhold the answer from me. Neither scenario wins my trust.

A Tip from Ma
A secular approach to Sabbats can simply be done by cycles... that's it.
After Midsummer, the Sun starts to lose its power and winter starts to come in. Samhain means the death of the Sun and so too does it mean that the earth becomes dormant for the next couple of months. Yule is the height of Winter and means that its power will dwindle over the next couple of months until Imbolc when the Earth wakes up.
Instead of Gods and Goddesses, rather look at it in manner of light and dark, life and death, the balances between.

The Great Order - an Understanding
I feel that, somtimes, green witchcraft tends to gloss over the "unsavoury" aspects of nature. I, unfortunately, do not believe in such practices but have thus formulated my own certain beliefs when it came to this.
There is an Order, a Pattern that occurs in nature. The Pattern of Survival, Fertility, Destruction and Regeneration. To gloss over the darker aspects of nature is to gloss over the deeper meanings and the underlying power latent in nature. Decomposition is simply the returning of that which came back towards what it came from. Animals and plants die but begin their life again. I do not admonish the wolves for hunting but look to understand the deeper meanings. I do not mourn the death of the rabbit but honour it, as an integral part of the cycle and that I should honour its sacrifice and its life.
Plants are poisonous, plants are healing - there is everything and anything and all has its place in nature. Nothing is naturally good nor evil, everything is at it is meant to be.
So basically - the principle of this is to honour all aspects of nature from the fertility to the death, the life cycle of all things. To do this, is to realize the latent knowledge in the self. We are not separate from nature but simply an extension of it. By understanding the death of the rabbit, who is to say that I won't be able to come to understanding of my own demise. By understanding the fight for survival in nature, I may come to understand these struggles in the life of myself and others, and how I may work to appease them. In understanding the rise and fall of nature, the storms that come, the heavy rains and the shattering winds - I may come to understand them and how they reflect in me. By understanding the blossoming of the flower, who is to say that I won't be able to spot that exact rejuvenation and beauty in life.

Learning more about the actual pagan beliefs and practices that my ancestors worshipped made me feel like everything I'd always believed, that I'd never learned about in generic books and well known ancient cultures, actually resonated with me in that I'd always felt those beliefs to be what was mine.
So, point: if you're lucky enough to know where your ancestors came from, look into their specific areas religions. And even if you're unable for another reason, try looking into more ancient cultures. It might fit you more than the modern style craft.

Tasseomancy - the Art of the Leaf
Tasseomancy is the divination through tea leaves, and is a very old but very accurate form of divination. You'd need loose tea, and this could easily be done through the tearing open of a tea bag and placing it in the cup, but most recommend literal loose tea, having been done in certain ways. I've read about rituals where the herbs are taken and placed underneath the moon. So all in all, try and do as much of it as you can by yourself to gain that rapport. The second thing is to pour your water and let it steep. Once it's reached your strength, drink it slowly while focusing on your question. The person who is asking should drink the tea. Do not drink all of it, let some of the tea sit in the bottom of the cup, not a lot, just a small amount. You then swirl the cup around a little bit, letting the water drag the tea leaves around the brim and then place it opening down onto a tea saucer. You will then pick it up and read the tea leaves.

This is a good diagram that I like to reference.
Now the symbols will vary but most of all, its left to the diviner's own view. What may look like a fruit to one, may look like a heart to another. The spirits you call upon will guide you in this regard, and the tea leaves will form images that you can then see and divine. I've seen images as complex as a knight fighting a dragon (which then represented the overcoming of a major obstacle) to as simple as a weird arrow in the corner pointing towards something, representing a sense of focus or something leaving. So, let your intuition guide you in this regard.
I'm going to be level with you. I wasn't given a lot of information on this growing up. I was told by my mother simply: "What the leaves say, you will hear." So I will be looking for more definitive posts that can help you and reblog them here.

I'm really tired of people on social media saying things like "being silent on an issue means you side with the oppressors" like yes this is true in an abstract sense and is true in a more definite sense if we were all celebrities with large platforms and someone was interviewing us and they asked us about some political issue directly and we said "no comment" but choosing to exist on social media without endlessly discussing every political issue happening throughout the entire world does not mean you stand with oppressors, it means you're just living your life and focusing your energy (mostly offline!!!!!!!) to the few causes and issues most important to you, and that's entirely okay... enough with the fake woke guilt-tripping

Elon Musk's only real act of genius was casting himself into a fictional archetype (the Tom Swift / John Galt / Tony Stark-style billionaire inventor) that so many people want to believe in so badly that they will overlook the mounting evidence that he's actually just an unstable idiot with enough money to hire better engineers than himself.

Hello white mutuals. Before you is a charcuterie board with 15 different types of cheese. If you manage to go 12 hours without touching the cheeses you can leave this room. Good luck.

ok folks
I don’t think I actually have to spell this out
but there will be no prophesying, speculating, speaking into existence, etc about next year
no “I feel really great about next year,” no “I’d love more time at home to work on my hobbies,” no “surely it can’t be any weirder than 2020,” nothing

The Sith would be way funnier if they were Opposite Jedi but like… REALLY and LITERALLY the exact opposite of the Jedi. Not only is sex allowed, celibacy is BANNED. Jedi can’t use the force for personal reasons? Sith use the force to make PB&J sandwiches every lunch break. Jedi can only have one Padawan at a time? Bad news, I’m a fucking Sith and I have a gaggle of ten radical, problematic orphans who are my personal apprentices and they all rock.
