The Personality*

violet is the eldest child of @robertpxrr and @helenpxrr and the sister to dash and jack-jack. unlike her brothers, violet is more reserved, uncertain, shy and socially withdrawn, who has a few self-esteem issues - preferring to leave the limelight to her brothers. Violets relationship with her brothers couldn’t be more different. dash and her clash more than anyone, her obvious frustration with him is his childish behaviour and constant teasing that grates on her nerves. whereas with jack-jack, things are more tame, and she finds she had more in common with her youngest brother. the parr siblings can be a rowdy bunch when they all fight, but violet is fiercely protective of her brothers and would risk it all for them. despite all their fights it’s a ‘ride or die’ mentality with the parrs.

she is someone that possesses a curious and experimental nature to life willing to explore the things she was once uncertain about. shyness was once something that plagued violets life but as she got older she gradually learned that it was okay to branch out and over time had found some confidence. she’s still self-conscious but with an aunt and boss like edna mode, it’s hard to blend into the background. violet has a sharp and observational sense of humor but when her temper flares her once witty tongue turns into a forked one.

no capes - violet is given the task of designing muse b an outfit for an important event

bad boy/good girl - violet has lived a quiet life up until she met muse b, muse b takes her a walk on the wild side and violet learns that there’s more to life than being invisible

parents don’t approve - violet and muse b become close and her parents don’t approve of whatever is going on between them. 

tony rydinger (doesn’t have to be this specific character) - violets long time crush finally notices her and they go on a date. a date becomes dates and things get serious. her dad gets too overprotective of her and ruins her relationship with muse b, causing muse b and her friendship to break down. violet is miserable and blames her dad. violet and muse b try to salvage what’s left of them and sneak around. they eventually get caught and it spirals from there.

mother - @helenpxrr - out of both parents, violet is the least close with her mum. violet feels like the outsider in her family and she feels like Helen doesn’t understand that. while her mum is always supportive of her and encouraged her in life, helen pushes her to be the mould she believes her daughter could be rather than who her daughter is. violet loves her mum dearly and respects her greatly, but there’s a gap there that they don’t quite know how to bridge.

father - @robertpxrr - while her mum pushes her, bob is happy to let violet do her own thing and at her own pace. he is fiercely protective over violet and can overstep his mark at times when looking out for her because he believes he’s doing what’s best for her. violet has more in common with her dad than she does with her mum. they bond over music and reading. it was bob that actually suggested Violets name when she was born. In preparation of her birth, he accidentally washed her pink baby blanket with a blue sock which resulted in the blanket coming out violet when the dye ran from the sock. he found it fitting that his daughter would make her own mark on the world before she even entered it.

uncle - @iceice-best - uncle lulu. lucius was and always will be uncle lulu in violets eyes. ever since she was a kid, she always called him it and happily listened to him while he would tell her all about meteorology. she takes on his advice whenever he offers it, and she always supports his bowling team whenever his team are playing.

Broden didn’t have a Valentine, and would normally spend the holiday pranking couples who were just trying to enjoy themselves. It was never out of malice of course–it’s just that holidays are always the best time for a good shenanigan. In that regard, signing up for the town’s codename event seemed like a no-brainer.

The clues he received intrigued him, but he didn’t have the first idea how to decode them. So, in the end, he just did the tried and true method of asking every single person in the crowd if they were “invisible”. Get a no, move onto the next person. Eventually, someone had to say yes.

When they finally did, he brightened. “Aha! That makes sense!” He said, even if he didn’t actually have the slightest clue. “This was impressively tricky. I gotta know–what does the n/a mean? It’s been driving me crazy!”

trust her mum and her aunt to sign her up to the town’s valentines event, like her life wasn’t already embarrassing enough! she’ll never be able to live this down. god, if the ashleys, the tremaines or tina get wind of this, she’ll be tormented until the end of time. 

going by her codename, she really was trying to be as invisible as possible, maybe all this could be like a bad dream and go away. that idea was null and void when one of the barrel’s had found her, broden if she remembered correctly. 

violet hesitated for a moment before answering “my mum and aunt thought it was fun to sign me up and it looks like they don’t know anything about me since they couldn’t think of a third clue” she explained “it’s not as cryptic as it looks, sorry”

Tina was excellent at walking straight into trouble. Ask just about anyone. She could find it without even trying. Sometimes on purpose, other times not. This time she really, truly hadn’t meant it. In fact, she could scarcely figure out she had even done in the first place. Tina stared at the person, brows furrowed, as they ranted on, and on, and about– well, Tina hadn’t the faintest idea. She couldn’t really tell if she was being scolded, or belittled, or if she was simply catching the tail end of someone’s bad mood. Either way, Tina was pretty sure that whatever had caused this person’s rage, it sure as hell wasn’t her fault. (Which made a change…)

Quite sick of them looking down their nose at her, and having zoned out of listening to what they were even saying quite some time ago, Tina rummaged in her pocket. They were in such a fit, they didn’t notice her retrieving a small tub of glitter until it was too late. She lifted it to her mouth swiftly, and blew, hard, so that the entire tub fluttered through the air, straight into their face.

Violet had been working away at Mode while customers roamed around the place. Some woman had been going off at anyone who even dared to look at the same item as she was, and it was clear that it was becoming irritating to everyone in the store, including Violet. The woman had been ranting at Tina for seven minutes and forty six seconds now - Violet had been timing it on her watch - and made no sign of slowing down. That was until Tina Bell decided to raise hell and sent a pile of glitter into the woman's face. Screaming, stomping and a trail of glitter leading to the front door later, Violet grabbed a brush and shovel from the supply closet and started sweeping up the sparkly green scene of the crime. 

“Do you always carry tiny tubs of glitter with you?” she asked curiously when she finally found her voice.

Do you think there’s an unspoken arcade rule that if you drain the claw machine, you get a lifetime ban?” He pondered that a little longer than was entirely necessary before shaking his head. “All the old tricks stopped working, huh?” He joked, settling down and forgetting about his phone. “Things are good. Cool. Sammy’s got nothing to complain about as prince of the apartment. Got a new obsession with my shoe laces but I’m hoping that goes away soon. How about you, Vi? Working hard?”

“At least you know if they’re both in the arcade they won’t be off causing trouble somewhere else. i’m not sure, perhaps. I suppose if anyone’s going to get a lifetime ban from claw machines it would be Dash” Her brother was a menace. Jack-Jack wasn’t as bad but when he spent time with his older brother is was like the blind leading the blind. “They stopped working a long while ago, I let them slide every now and again to appease dad” she smiled. Violet would pretend to believe in Santa at her big age if it made her dad happy. “Prince of the apartment? I always knew Sammy was royalty. Let’s hope Prince Sammy doesn’t declare war on your shoes.” Though the thought of her uncle wrestling his dog for his shoes was an amusing idea “I’m okay, trying to branch out and meet people. Mum says I stay inside too much” she shrugged “Work is good. Edna has me running around constantly, you know what she’s like”

Taking the day to herself, Violet was out doing some shopping. Some books here and there, a new dress, a birthday present for a colleague in work and she was now on the hunt for some new shoes. Her aunt Edna had her running around all the time in work that she needed new work shoes stat and what better a time to shop around for them than when she had a day off. 

Violet wandered around the store, her eyes scanning the shelves to see if any styles caught her eyes. About to pick up a shoe to examine it better, her phone dinged and had distracted her long enough for her to fail to notice that one of her previous school bullies was closing in.

29. what is something that was difficult at the time, but taught them a valuable lesson they still hold onto?

bullies. bullies taught violet a lot about how to navigate being around people her age who were mean and pretty shitty to her. violet really struggled with being bullied but it also forced her to learn to try to ignore peoples comments and that the only opinions that matter are the people she loves in life.

Violet had been sent to the florist to arrange bouquets of flowers to Adam and Mary from the Parr family as a ‘get well soon’ slash ‘thinking of you’ type gesture for the couple who had recently been struck with the traumatic events of the Hootenanny. She was caught off guard at the abrupt turn from the person in front of her, and she let out a squeak in surprise before nodding her head “Mr Legrand didn’t deserve what happened to him.” She’s never seen Mary Gibbs anything short of overwhelming happiness, and it was a real shock to Violet to see her so devastated and distraught. “Hopefully that catch whoever did that to him”

“Ooh, sorry. Sorry, Vi, I was lost in the zone and now I’m really hoping your brothers aren’t sneaking around here somewhere dying for an excuse to start talking smack. I—,” he stopped, realizing he didn’t actually have a good answer for her very reasonable question. Hitting out with a ‘do as I say, not as I do’ was not very Cool Uncle-like so he benched that one. “Hey, you know you’re getting smarter and smarter every day. Look- I’m just gonna log out and pull up a chair. Ask you about your day. Not even react to it with one of those little angry faces… Sound good?”

Her uncle never did take to the smack talk comment section well “They’re not, they found a claw machine next door and have been playing that for the best part of three hours now.” Violet found her brothers unbearable at times, but damn, they were shit hot at arcade games. “That’s what my dad says when he’s been caught out as well” she smirked, giving a laugh. “Sounds good. How’s things with you? How’s Sammy?”

“What the f—,” Lucius mumbled not-so-quietly under his breath, eyebrows raising dangerously high as he brought his nose closer to the i-pad screen. Oh, it was on. “Hey, have you seen this? The audacity of that smarmy son of a— I mean who in the hell does ‘Call-Me-Larry’ think he is posting this crap? And I quote: ‘Redwood Hollow’s excuse for a bowling team’ — Excuse. They think just because they barely won last year’s competition- shadily, might I add- they can go around posting smack right here on my timeline. Unbelievable.” @happieststarters​

Violets head shot up from her laptop when she heard her uncle almost drop an f-bomb “Lulu!” she gasped with a laugh. Thankfully, her chaotic boundary pushing brothers weren’t near to feel like they had a free pass to adopt a sailor mouth. “No, I haven’t seen it. Is this what’s getting you so riled up? Why do you persist in torturing yourself by reading their comments all the time?”
