The teacher training
It will be quite a personal entry. It is my second semester in the teacher training programme and my experience is controversial. When I applied for this major I was not sure if I wanted to be a teacher but I knew I wanted to study literature and English for sure. So maybe my ambitions are not strong enough to accomplish this major, but I am quite disappointed.
All together I love the University, and I especially love learning Hungarian grammar and literature, but I like my English subjects too. The problem is with the teacher traning, since most of the times I feel like I can’t execute all of my subjects, since I have too much. Everyone told me that you will have time when you will be a university student, but it is not true in the case of teacher training. Most of the days I have classes from eight in the morning until half past three or half past five. It would be okay, but to top it off I usually study on the weekends for a whole day, and I still feel like I am not doing enough.
But I am sure the cause of my problems is my personality too, since I am quite a perfectionist and I feel guilty if I don’t prepare perfectly for a class, however teacher training programmes is a lot to take, since it is like three BA majors together. And another huge problem with it is the duration of the training. Six years is a huge period of time and another disadvantage is the fact that you are not really able to work with this much lessons. And I have also found some teacher dismal in the pedagogy lessons, I feel like that some of them are really demotivating in connection with being teachers.
So I would not recommend this major to anyone who is not sure about being a teacher, although I am sure if someone is a hundred percent sure she/or he wants to be a teacher then it will not be a problem for them. But I am planning on leaving the teacher training programme and study Hungarian instead.

Transforming the fashion industry
I read an article about sustainable fashion: http://www.livingit.euronews.com/2019/04/18/the-global-fashion-industry-is-opaque-exploitative-and-environmentally-damaging
It made me realize how harmful is the global fashion industry. We need to change the way we produce and consume. There is a movement called Fashion Revolution which elaborated a Transaparency Index, it is reviews the biggest global fashion brands according to how much information they disclose about their suppliers, supply chain policies and practices, and environmental impact. A lot of consumers started to care about where they put their money, since it is not a secret anymore that a lot of big brands have made unbearable work conditions, basically all of their employees worked for their daily breads. So these movements have started to make fashion companies interested in being sustainable.

The return of Game of Thrones
https://www.theguardian.com/tv-and-radio/2019/apr/16/game-of-thrones-return-lures-200000-britons-to-stay-up-late
There was a huge hype last week in connection with the Game of Thrones’ new season, which is understandable since this is the last season and the ending of the previous one left so many excitement and questions behind itself. Despite of this I find it suprising that 200,000 British people have stayed up until 2 am on Monday to see the first episode. Since the time of the show was set according to Americans, which meant they could watch the show at 9pm on Sunday. So obsessive fans had to stay up because of the time difference in order to watch Game of Thrones.

The Notre Dame
https://www.theguardian.com/global/2019/apr/17/france-announces-architecture-competition-rebuild-notre-dames-spire
I have read an article about a current topic, which is the burn down of the Notre Dame. It is obviously a huge catastrophe for the French nation, so the president Macron announced that it will be rebuilt in five years. Some experts have doubts about this promise, since the Notre Dame was built for nearly 200 years. However the Frenchs are collecting donations for the restoration and they have so far raised €880m. Which is a little bit controversial in my opinion, since a lot of catastrophes have happened where hundreds of people have died or injured and still got less donations than Notre Dame, but on the other hand it is an admirable gesture from the people who donated money.

Skincare & Beauty
I am really passionate about natural skincare. Eversince I was 15 years old I have been reading and watching videos about it. Obviously I am not an expert, and I don’t have perfect skin, although I have learnt plenty of thing throughout the past five years.
The first thing would be that everyone has a different skin type, so if a product or method is working on someone it doesn’t guarantee that it will work for you too.
The sad thruth is, that there are people who are born with flawless skin and will never have problems with it, while others inherit genes that can cause them breakouts, acnes and different issues with their skin.
So it is important to accept what we got, but at the same time I believe we should make the best out of it. A great way for this is to use natural products. Usually products you can find in drugstores are full of chemicals and toxic ingredients, so it is essential to read the ingredients before you buy anything. I would recommend using natural skincare lines that are might be a bit more expensive, however in the long-term they worth it.
In case you don’t want to spend a lot of money on cosmetics, you can try out homemade skincare of ingredients you probably already have in your household.
The first beneficial ingredient is honey. It sooths and hydrates your skin while it has plenty of antioxidants in it, which are good to prevent aging. You can use chamomile for similar effects, it calms your skin so it is especially good if you have breakouts. You can take a tea bag into hot water and then press the filter against your skin for the benefits. My personal favourit is coconut oil, which is really efficient and cheap. It is good for removing makeup, hydration and it can be used as a hair mask too. You can use aloe vera if you want to slow down the development of wrinkles. You can find it in spray or gel form in drugstores, but it is the best if you cut a leaf of your own plant and apply the leaf’s liquid to your skin. It will help with acnes too.
My basic skincare tips are the followings. Cleaning your face is essential in the night and in the morning, even if you don’t use makeup, because throughout the day several bacteries can stick on your face and they can cause problems with your skin. It is especially important in the night to cleanse your face since your skin is working on regeneration while you are asleep and it is really hard if your skin is not clean. Another tip is to use as little makeup as you can, because foundation will clog your pores. Hydration is just as important as cleansing, because that way you can maintain the youth of your skin.

The Pécsi Bölcsész Festival
This was my first Pécsi Bölcsész Spring Festival that I have attended as a student of the Faculty of Humanities, but I have been to the Festival last year and even the year before that. It is a cultural festival, with a lot of different programmes, but it is focused on music mostly. Every year they invite some “big names” from the music industry.
Two years ago I came because of Beck Zoli who was asked to hold an acoustic concert, which was really rare from him at the time, since he was always playing with his band (30Y). But it was so nice listening to him in a laid-back athmosphere where he would be improvising mostly. Last year I came to listen to Blahalouisiana in an acoustic version, it was also really fun.
This year it was not even a question if I will be coming. Although they didn’t invite a lot of people I like, but Bérczesi Robi from Hiperkarma was there. The programmes were really varied, there were some amateur musicians who I enjoyed listening to, for example: Cedar Knoll, Széll Tomi and Polgár Patrik&Kóbor Zsóka. There was a show with “Improvokál” they are the students of PTE and they were improvising a play, and there was an interview with the Hungarian translators of Game of Thrones.
One of my favourite production was Áron Andris’. He is a singer of Apey and the Pea which is a metal band, so I don’t listen to them, but I have heard them once at a concert. But this performance was so different. He was singing alone with an acoustic guitar, and I was impressed by his talent. In the genre of metal I can’t really find out if someone has a great voice or not but while he was singing acoustic songs it was not a question anymore if he has an amazing voice.

Our Planet
I read an article about the Netflix series “Our Planet”: https://www.newyorker.com/culture/on-television/with-the-netflix-series-our-planet-david-attenborough-delivers-an-urgent-message
I have just started watching it the other day and I find it incredible. It has beautiful scenes and it is very gripping. Although I am not really interested in the topic of nature and nature documentaries, this series made me realize that the issue of global climate catastrophe is really timous and it is not about being interested in nature or not. We all have to find out more about the world and what we can do to save it. Making a series out of this topic was a huge idea, because we have to admit, Netflix is a really effective platform for spreading messages. Nowadays people are so disconnected from nature they didn’t realize the problem, but I think this documentary can make an impact on our behaviour in connection with the Earth.

Dogs are humans’ best friends
Since my blog’s name is “vizslaloversworld” I felt the need to explain that. I have always loved cats and dogs or any kind of animals, and my family always have had cats when I was a kid but when we got our first dog, a Hungarian Vizsla, it was a new level of friendship for me.
I was 6 years old, when we brought home Huncut. She was so afraid, so I laid down on the carpet so she could nap with me and she fell asleep on me. That’s when I fell in love. She was so little, that even my mom’s shoes were bigger than her and she was always chewing on that and carrying that in the house. At first, my parents were sure that If we get a dog it can’t come into the house. But Huncut was very tricky. She sat right on the doorstep and when we would look away she always made a tiny step frontwards and it was so funny and clever that we couldn’t send her out. I believe animals like dogs have feelings, and no one will understand it until they didn’t have a dog. Whenever I was crying she came to me, laid her head on my lap and watched me until I stopped crying. She was also really clever, she learnt how to open the door (obviously she could only do that if it wasn’t closed with keys).
She was the most loving and intellingent animal I have ever met, and when she died, my family decided we will never have another dog since we don’t want to experience the loss again. It might sound a bit too sentimental but I feel like everyone can relate to it who have ever had a dog. But years have passed and I plan on having a Hungarian Vizsla and a Golden Retriever when I will have my own house. I might be a crazy dog lady but sometimes I feel like humans’ don’t even deserve dogs, because they are so pure, trustworthy and loving. Dogs never judge you, and the sad thing is, they even love their owner if it doesn’t treat them well.

A Youtube channel that worth watching
I chosed to write about my favourite youtube channel, since there aren’t a ton of qualitative channels in my opinion. I mostly watch laid-back vlog typed videos, because I really enjoy seeing how others live, it helps me relax. When I watch other people’s life, I feel like I can escape from my own life, problems and also I get really good experiences through vlogs.
The channel’s name is Michalaks. Hannah Michalaks and Steph Michalaks are a married couple in their 30′s and they have two children: A five year old, called Grayson and a two year old, called Roofos. The Michalaks do weekly vlogs, they film a little bit every day and edit that together.
I love their vlogs, since I find family vlogs really comforting and amusing, and the way they edit the vlogs is amazing. I think Steph is the one who edits the most, and he is really into film and photography. Their vlogs show a passionate work. The shots are beautiful in their videos.
Another reason I love them is their personality. Both Hannah and Steph are very truthful people, who show nothing but the reality. Of course, nobody will pick up their cameras when they are crying, but Hannah and Steph talk about some (not too detailed or personal) difficulties, for example about raising a kid. I really feel like these vlogs will help me one day when I will have a family.

What’s in your cosmetics?
I read this article about cosmetic products: https://www.nytimes.com/2019/02/09/opinion/cosmetics-safety-makeup.html
I have already known that there are plenty of toxic ingredients in the beauty industry, but the article still shocked me a bit. The law for cosmetic products ingredients hasn’t changed since so many years. They are still not tested strictly enough to spot harsh chemicals in them. And this fact causes a huge problem, as I have read in the article that 12,000 people sued a company because their product gave them ovarian cancer. I feel like we should be more aware of what we put on our body, and we should really check the ingredients. I try to use products as natural as possible.

The Power of Introverts
I saw a Ted Talk video yesterday, and it inspired me a lot, so this entry is basically a summary of Susan Cain’s talk.
So I took some tests on the internet a few months ago, and they all told me I am somewhere in between 60% or 70% introvert. Therefore I am not the biggest introvert, but I know some things and I have learnt a lot too.
The only problem with the fact, that I am an introvert (and nearly half of the population is) that in a lot of situations introverts are forced to be extroverts, they have to socialize, and not in their own way (which would be sitting next to each other reading) They have to be out-going, say yes to things, they don’t want to. The world tell them that their quiet and shy style of being is not OK. Let’s think about schools an workplaces. They are designed mostly for extroverts, you have to discuss things in groups. And as much it is important to learn how to work with others, we should recognize that introverts can do their best in a low-key zone. Every teacher’s ideal student is the one who always raises his/her hands, and wants to answer every question, although according to studies, introverts are more knowledgeable. However they try to work on themselfes, to be more like extroverts. But it doesn’t depend on how hard you try, if you were born as an introvert, you can’t change your personality. Introverts should learn to socialize to some extent, but we should encourage them to be themselfes, since this is how they are going to be the most productive.
Introverts are needed in the creative field, and in leadership, which can be shocking, but sometimes the best speaker doesn’t have the best ideas, and the one who has the best ideas might not be the best speaker. Studies show that introverts deliver better outcomes in leader positions, than extroverts, because extroverts can be a little obtrusive with what they want, and introverts let people do their things more.
People always say that “extroverts adopt introverts”, and it is soo funny and true, because half of my friends are extroverts and we became friends because they started it. And there is another saying “Every introverts needs and extrovert” But I think it is true in the other way around too, so in conclusion we should pay more attention to introverts and give them a chance.

A star is born
One of my friends called me a few days ago, she invited me to the cinema to watch a new film called A star is born. I had no idea about the film, but she said, it has a high rate on IMDB, so I went. I have to say, it was a great decision.
The movie in a nutshell is about a very famous musician, who meets a talented girl, named Ally. They fell in love, and the musician, Jackson helps Ally to find fame. While Ally is getting more and more famous, Jackson finds is very depressing that Ally has changed a lot, and her manager is trying to make her into a pop star. Jackson drinks a lot and uses different drugs, and while his wife gets more awards, his life is just getting more depressing, and it ends in a big tragedy. Maybe it sound a bit stereotypical, but trust me, it is a very good film.
It has lots and lots of meanings, for example, what can fame do to people and relationships, and how important is to pay attention to our loved ones, and how do they feel. This movie shows how powerful music can be.
Although the story was a bit dissappointing, because of the (definetely not happy) ending, I have to say, I really loved this drama. The main characters are amazing! I had no idea, that Ally was played by Lady Gaga, but I even whispered it to my friend during the movie, that the actress looks like her, but I could not imagine she has this amazing skills in acting. But she does. Bradley Cooper was not a suprise as an actor, because I have seen him in different films, and he was always great. But he was more suprising as a director, because it was his first creation in this area, and it definetely turned out professional.
Another huge plus in the movie are soundtracks. Lady Gaga has a powerful and magnificent voice (Yes, it was suprising for me too, because all of her real life songs are made with autotune and such things). I don’t know who wrote the music, but he/she made an amazing job. The movie is full of heart-touching and catchy songs.
So I recommend this movie to everyone. It would be better to watch in the cinema, because the music will touch you more that way.

My favourite festival
Now, that the weather reminds me of the summer, the good memories of Ördögkatlan fesztivál came in my mind. This is the most cultivated festival I have ever been to. This summer was my 3rd Ördögkatlan festival, and I am sure, I will be there next year too. I love the fact that there are plenty of theatrical plays you can select of. (That’s another thing to being able to get a ticket) and there are a lot of good concerts, mostly alternative bands. And I like the fact that there are a lot of bands that are amateur and not so famous, because there is something special in them, they really want to show how good they are, so they try harder, than big, famous bands who sometimes just go to the stage drunk, and they do not even try, because they know, they will have a huge success. And I meet very talented musicians at Ördögkatlan every year. But of course, there are some famous bands, that I adore, and they play at Ördögkatlan. One of them is 30Y. I really enjoyed their concert this year. The athmosphere of the festival is magical. It is so chilled, and everyone is so kind, and when I am there I always forget that this is not the real world, so I get really upset when I get home, but in the other hand, sleeping in my own bed after a week spent in a tent, that is a Godsent. Another thing, I love about this festival that there are a lot of literary programmes. For example they organized a speech about Ady Endre and there was a gallery about Arany János this year. You can even rent books in the festival. So this festival was really made for me.

How social media affects youngsters?
Social media definetely affected my generation, the ones who were born in the end of the 90′s. I remember getting a facebook profile at about the age 12, and watching youtube videos when I was around 14. It had an impact on me for sure, however I was not staring at facebook or youtube for 2-3 hours/per day, that’s why it was not ruining my self confidence, and it did not rule my life. But I think social media makes a bigger damage now on young people especially in the age of 12-16. facebook, instagram and youtube now have spread the world, and everyone use them. I suppose Instagram is the biggest trend nowadays, and the problem is, that young girls follows beautiful, rich, famous and pefect women, who posts the most perfect moments of their lifes. Of course, they look great and flawless in every picture. But of course in real life, they have bad days, when they don’t feel great, or they don’t look great, but they won’t post about those moments. Young and naive followers will think that everyone has the greatest life, except them, that’s why they start to feel depressed, and unsatisfyied with themselfes, and their lifes. I think, it would be so important to make them know, that instagram does not show the truth. That everyone shows the best sides of themselfes, but it doesn’t mean their life is perfect.

The best places in Pécs
I thought I would like to write about my favourite places in Pécs since I have been living in this city all my life, which means 19 years.
The first place that comes in my mind is Nappali, it is in Király Street. We can call it a “pub”. But it’s not the kind of pub, that you would only go in the night time when you want to drink alcohol. It’s the kind of pub where I would sit in the morning, lunchtime, and night time too. Sometimes if I have 2 hours between my classes, I just go there, grab a coffee or a tea and I read something. There is always a great chilled music, and you can sit on one of the comfy couches they have. And of course, since it’s a pub, I like going there in the night time too, with my friends, have some drinks and a good chat. Sometimes they organize concerts or slam poetry nights there.
So, If you are hungry, and you don’t want to spend a tons of money on food, Which I think is true for a lot of students, you can go to Jam, which is in Ferencesek Street. This place has the best döner&dürüm, I swear! If you haven’t heard of döner and dürüm, theese are meat and fresh salad wrapped in a tortilla, or “pita” with sauce. I even get hungry just writing about it!
If you want to workout, after all the calories you ate at Jam, you can go to Tüskésréti-tó. It is a lake in the suburbs. Around the lake there is a running track, and next to the track, there is a cafe, places, to sit, you can even sit in bean bags, and you can watch the lake from there. The best thing is that you can do wakeboarding in the lake. It must cost a big amount of money, but it’s an expensive sport which I think can worth the money, because of all the joy you get!
