consider: the deidara-tobi team is actually the least productive of any team. missions go completely off the rails immediately and are barely fixed by the end. there's like a 20% chance deidara simply decides he doesn't want to and does something else. but. b u t

tobi is secretly the akatsuki boss. there is no one to reel this in. deidara gets to explode 500% more things for no reason and never thinks to question why. there's no pushback when he gets mouthy or disrespectful. someone dares to ask "why does deidara get away with so much shit?" and then the camera pans over to Tobi twirling his hair and watching Deidara scream back at pein
