incredibly brief colour editing tutorial i made to help others who are like ‘its just not turning out the way i pictured it’ because trust me that happens to me all the time and colour editing SAVES MY GODDAMN LIFE. what is the point of using photoshop if u dont use the EDITING CAPABILITIES IT OFFERS.

finished hollow knight like a week ago and !!!!! what a great game! i’ve been alternating b/w meandering through the post game and doing little doodles 

of course i had to draw some true ending ghost headcanons and make a vessel oc that has lifeseeds living in their face

oc stuff no one cares about under the cut-

they ended up in the lifeblood core area while trying to climb out of the abyss and became a host for lifeseeds. they dont carry a nail and hardly engage in combat outside of a little spell use and hatchling sacrifices. mostly they just face-tank everything thanks to that sweet sweet lifeseed health boost. 

while wandering through hollownest lifeseeds separate from them and form the lifeblood cocoons! I like to think they meet up and travel with joni, who also gives them their name (juni also doubles as a reference to my favorite shareware platformer, knytt stories!). they wait in joni’s last repose for a long after he dies, imbuing that area with lifeblood.

i also included what would end up being juni’s standard charm loadout, bc i care about that kind of thing

hey now that everyones talking about drawing styles and stuff i have a fun website that i feel like many people can use to help improve their art.

while taking night jumpstart classes in my future college for drawing our teacher used www.line-of-action.com. This website allows you to select a category (human body, hands and feet, animals or facial expressions), choose a time that each picture will stay for and allowed us to draw the randomly generated pictures of that category.

It is especially helpful because it has subcategories to chose if you are having trouble on a specific type of animal or hands or feet.

Its a good practicing tool to help improve body structure and anatomy and i highly reccommend it

There’s three main groups: the flexors and extensors each take one half of the forearm, and the ridge muscles sit on top like a little tiara. Each group has it’s own unique form. Learning their anatomy will help you design awesomely dynamic arms.

Let’s try to make forearms manageable to draw. This is a body part most artists don’t quite understand. It can be real intimidating if you don’t know the muscles.

The arm has a simple chain design and the forms interlock down the arm.

To avoid the snowman effect, use straight, angular lines and look for asymmetries. Compare the apex of both sides of the forearm to understand the curvature better. Notice that the flexors reach lower on the wrist than the extensors and ridge muscles.

Look for this kind of thing when you’re drawing the gesture of the muscle groups. A wave rhythm where the curve on one side leads into the next curve on the other side.
