he doesn’t break eye contact. no matter how much he wants to. there is a certain type of decorum expected from someone of his standing, and backing down because someone of mituna’s standing wants him to do so doesn’t fall into that. 

now, he does break eye contact. he’s working very hard on controlling thoughts like those ones--and goodness, is it hard! he keeps his face as steady as possible when he looks back, but one slip-up has him halfway spiraling. so it wasn’t enough for him to be rubbing elbows with a lower blood hue  --  and not only that, but one who already has a matesprit  --  but the one who’s caught him out is perhaps the worst one who could’ve. none of them are fantastic at keeping secrets, but mituna is just very loud and very talkative. well, horuss doesn’t confide in many people, but if he did, mituna would be at the bottom of that list.

“       Mituna, I don’t know what you’re referring to, but it sounds like sensitive informanetion. A topic that is better discussed in private, or maybe not at all.     ”      boy, is he sweating. he doubts mituna will respond very positively to this mature discussion that he is trying to facilitate  --  he tries for a polite smile. mituna is fond of rufioh, much like everyone else is; surely they could come to an agreement here.

where does your soul feel at home?

where you are encouraged  --  you're certain, you're convinced. you've built yourself up from the ground. it's not that you want to be encouraged to reach a distant goal or take some humble wobbly steps forward. you want to be encouraged in the decisions that you made for yourself. you want them to recognize that you know what's good for you. you don't need essays of advice or hugs the last for hours, you're satisfied with a couple of words and a look of recognition in their eyes, a friendly push in your back, a chuckle. you simply want to be recognized for your hard work. because it has been hard, hasn't it? it's okay to admit that, i know you know but i want to remind you regardless. because damn, it hasn't been easy whatsoever. yet there's a fire inside of you, a drive to keep going forward. do you know where you're going half of the time? are you endlessly chasing that moment of clarity you feel in the Exact second you make a decision, before doubt sets in? i say keep going, people like you are those who want to try, regardless of anything, to at least try. bruised knees, a twisted ankle but still, your flame, your hope. i think we might need you more than ever now. you take what's small, what's painful to touch and you embrace it, translate it. you blow your fire into it and watch it rise from the ashes and fly through the sky like fireworks. to know what you know, to feel what you feel, you care about the journey. you're an advocate for kindness and the power of rebirth. you find meaning in finding meaning and you hope people find meaning in you. that they do, without a shadow of a doubt, they do.

Anyways one thing I think people forget abt horuss is that he isn't naturally good at anything he does, he just spent a lot of time working on those things. Like...horuss so desperately trying to feel complete, so he throws himself into everything...that's at least partially why he gets so attached to rufioh, bc he's convinced that rufioh is going to Complete him.

Aranea's spiel abt horuss is actually SO interesting tho...the idea that the only way he'll be satisfied is to stop trying to avoid nothingness but rather embrace it and make it Important...too bad he was a page and dead
