What the hell do you have against Celtic people…??? That seems a bit stereotypical to me, let alone racist. “Don’t whine about it being Celtic or some shit” you act like Celtic people don’t have a culture at all. Quite ignorant for someone who claims they’ve faced racism themselves. Be considerate.

okay girl im gonna lay this out for u 1) ppl would use that to excuse the racism. it has nothing to do with the fact they have culture. i dont deny that celtic people have culture, this is a bad faith reading 2) i was almost 19 when i wrote that post, which is from 2019 3) again this post is from 2019 and is from a place when i was active in a fanbase that i saw routinely ignore and minimize indigenous struggles 4) be serious and actually engage with the content of the post instead of telling me that im inconsiderate over an off hand comment i made to try to keep people from bringing up unrelated stuff over a tribe of cats who are minimized in their own white savior plot line and have names like brook where small fish swim

I’m not Native, but I have been working on rewriting Warriors myself. I wanted to know if there could be anyway to fix the Tribe? Or should I ignore it altogether?

ive been thinking a lot about abt how to answer this so sorry for the late response! ultimately im not sure! a lot of people would probably have different opinions than me and i think its a bit of a complicated issue. a lot of my personal issue w the tribe is the framing of a lot of stuff with them. i think my ultimate solution with them is replacing them with a loner group that doesnt view the journey cats as the Chosen Ones etc etc if that makes sense. id probably shorten their names to one word instead of the full names and not have them be a tribe, instead maybe a colony without like. spiritual/religious connections. if u want a different reason for them to need help with the cougar, u could maybe have them be former kittypets and twolegplace loners. shows that their way of life isnt Worse but that they dont have the training for smthng like that if that makes sense so, i guess, my personal opinion is that there isnt much to do without completely restructuring them!

Hello! I'm not sure if you still use tumblr regularly, but I wanted to reach out to you about your post about the Tribe and the racist connotations of it. I cohost a Warrior cats podcast and we've just met the Tribe of Rushing Water in our read through. We were wondering if it would be okay to link your post in our show notes, since we are two white people and would rather our listeners see your opinion. And it's very well written and so in depth that we couldn't hope to match.

hi uh a lot of ppl r here bc of my post abt the tribe being racist and i gotta say if i missed things or w/e im not particularly interested in debating it or having ppl say its not that bad or w/e. its been 2 years since i wrote that post and even Then itd been years since i read the books proper so i had to cite the wiki a lot. irt the 9 lives thing if it Did actually happen in the book (bc the wiki lists it differently in two different places) it was revealed in the White Savior chapter which is.... lmao

man the tribe and the ancients are such bad concepts for clan origins, such bad concepts without them being origins

the convoluted mess of jay going back in time to have some of them go to the  mountains, some of them stay, and then in the mountains some of them leave and then eventually coming back to the lake territories is just…it’s a mess in my eyes!!! i don’t like it!!!

you know what would make sense thematically?? the clans being rogues, loners, and kittypets who joined together against a common threat

gray wing and clear sky are loner brothers and the forests and city is terrorized by One Eye and his gang, they begin to collect rebel cats who want change

if you want the three reincarnation, have the three be part of the rebels so we can meet them and see how the modern three are different!! 

there are like plenty of other reasons the tribe is Bad (check out this excellent post) but i think there’s some plot potential that was wasted

The plot is only just beginning and there’s potential to have cats with special abilities, both through luck and through potentially earning them.

The current plot is centered around two clans, Gloamclan and the newly founded Mornclan. Originally part of Gloamclan, the cats that make up Mornclan split off in response to a controversial ruling by Silkstar, Gloamclan’s leader. They followed the former deputy of Gloamclan, now known as Dovestar. Shortly after, Gloamclan’s medicine cat, Crowfall, followed suit. 

Three moons later, cats are still adjusting to the split. Now that it seems like they aren’t coming back, Silkstar has extended an olive branch in hopes of not starting a conflict, though Dovestar isn’t as receptive as he would’ve liked.

Of Felids and Fauna is an original Warrior Cats roleplay on Discord that takes place in a fictional setting vaguely in North America.

The plot follows three newly made clans, Foxclan, Otterclan, and Turtleclan, who used to be loners part of one big community before breaking off ~38 moons ago due to their differences. Foxclan settled in a dense, brush-filled field, Otterclan in the forest with a winding river near the cliffs, and Turtleclan in the murky swamp. 

Lately, Cats in the clans are being mysteriously found dead or going missing and never returning. It started with Turtleclan, but the other clans brushed it off as the brutal territory they chose to live in. That is, until they spread to Foxclan, starting with Foxstar, and then to Otterclan. When Foxstar was found dead, he had yet to pick a new deputy, leaving the clan feeling very uneasy, maybe even like they’ve been cursed by Starclan. They voted for a new leader, as there was no deputy to take Foxstar’s place.
