i had a mini thought and it could be interesting to see where you stand with it within your world building. This is mainly concerning children of the moon. But theres a plant called Aconitum lycoctonum which is commonly known as wolfsbane and it grows throughout central Europe and it's incredibly toxic to dogs. People used it when it came to hunting Wolves. Would this plant have been any help in the hunting of children of the moon? Would it have affected them at all? i want to know your thoughts

It all comes down to if we believe Children of The Moon is some form of mutation/sickness/curse derived from proper wolves or not. Seeing as though we also have Shapeshifters in canon, it is clear that true supernatural/fantastical beings exist in this world; so I am inclined to say it is some form of curse.

They are terribly wolf like however, so Wolfsbane could have an effect; but it also would not surprise me if COTM developed an immunity over the years do to their unique nature. Caius certainly tried to implement it when he was hunting them, though I am not decided on if it had great effect or not.

At one point I toyed with the idea of writing a short story about how the moon itself cursed a tribe of humans for harming her wolves, in turn turning them into a savage mockery of what they hated the most. Never got around to finish the concept however.

Then I would say wolfsbane would have an effect for sure.

every day, i feel like i’m marcus. someone who is very sad, who has nothing to lose because the most blissful treasure has been stolen with no justice served and this world becomes a daunting issue for a solemn heart who yearns for revenge when justice isn’t served. not a surprise if marcus doesn’t always have the volturi’s well-being in his mind when he makes his moves… consider his quietude, and composed behavior a miracle because deep down, a wounded spirit will hunt down any opportunity to wound the culprit of his ruins. betrayal’s not easily forgiven.

Drunken Joy || Demetri, Felix & Heidi

I feel like these three together is either the most wonderful and fun time, or someone ends up crying because they lean on one another so much. But adding a mate into the mix as well? Oh it is downright asking for a scandalous tale.

If Felix has a mate: When this man is sober he looks at his significant other as if they hung the moon and stars, when drunk it is as if his mate is god incarnate; and him their humble servant. He would spend most of the evening holding their hand or allowing them to fully lean on to him as they got deeper into their cups. He would not shy away from telling stories about his mate, proclaiming how much he adores them every chance they get; much to the amusement of both Heidi and Demetri. If you acquire Felix as a mate there will never be a moment he does not remind someone how much he loves them.

If Heidi has a mate: Oh she would be exceptionally soft with a mate when she has a few glasses of blood-wine in her system, eyes sparkling with a love that is hard to describe with mere words. More than once she would leave lipstick marks against their cheek with a grace only Heidi possesses. If Demetri tries to get cheeky with her mate however, Heidi will promptly scold him; something that would leave Felix and her mate keeling over with laughter. If the tracker and executioner get a little too inebriated, Heidi and her mate will take care of the two fools, small glances shared as Heidi invites her mate into her life more thoroughly.

If Demetri has a mate, and he has not accepted them: He would sit as far away from the mate through out the entire evening, no matter how many times Heidi keeps elbowing him. For being a fun drunk he is quiet for the first time in centuries, half-heartedly glaring at Felix for attempting to bring him together with his so called fated mate. Though he keeps his distance he does make sure they feel alright, asking if they are having a good time several times. On the morrow Felix and Heidi would be teasing him about being unable to keep his eyes off of his soon to be mate; Demetri goes for an extra long walk that day.

If Demetri has a mate, and he has accepted them: The tracker will simply not leave his mate alone for one moment, either he will be touching them constantly or draped across their lap as if he is starring in some extravagant painting; blood-wine sloshing out of his glass and on to the floor from time to time. When his face is not tucked into their neck he is probably kissing their cheeks or dragging them into a dance. If I am to be entirely honest, Demetri would most likely herd his significant other back to his own quarters for some intimate fun.

Another thought sprung from this

The amusement I get from imagining visiting vampires recognising the Kings’ famous mate is immense. Cuz it’s just gotta be so goddamn weird.

Imagine going to pay a parking ticket and running into Frida Kahlo. Like????¿¿??

You go to vampire police HQ to report crime shit and while passing through the labyrinth of hallways you catch a glimpse of someone with the guards and you freeze cuz… was that… fucking- Emily Dickinson??? Wtfff is Edgar Allen Poe doing here?? Help??

Forgive me for mentioning the disaster family but-

Edward, Alice and Bella being lead to the Kings when they run into someone that Edward didn’t meet when he first pleaded with the Kings, and they’re casually like “Oh hello, you’re Carlisle’s kids, aren’t you? Are you here to speak to my husband again?” And Alice and Bella don’t know why Edward is silently trembling cuz damn it all, Carlisle mentioned one of the Kings’ mate was ‘a musician’ he didn’t mention is was fucking Bach.

The idea of Edward trembling in the prescense of Bach is a delightful image and I almost wished I would have written it into 'Equinox'.

Famous people showing up in vampire fiction is something I wished happened more often, and I do not think Aro would have been above turning a painter he was exceptionally fond of.

Personally I would have loved to meet vampiric Oscar Fingal O'Fflahertie Wills Wilde, he would have been an excellent vampire and thrived in the court of The Volturi.

Luckily you still have over a year to enjoy my presence on here dear Anonymous, it is not goodbye just yet. It warms my heart to hear people say I have contributed to the community in a positive manner, I always wanted to make people's days a little better.

The fandom changes with the years, it goes up and down, people come and people go...

I think one of the things I lack right now is more people to talk about Historical Volturi things with. Symbolism, historical themes, purple prose and allegories have always been important to me. The few mutuals/friends I have on here know I go deep when I research and put so much thought into every minuscule detail. I have had four people whom I talked to about those topics, but sadly three of them have exited my life.

If more people would like to hear me gush about this stuff and the process behind my madness I might find joy in The Volturi once more. So I guess this is my open invitation to slide into my personal messages if you want to talk about anything.

Writing can be really lonely sometimes... and it's hard to work through some of my ideas without input from a lot of different people.

While Marcus is quite apathetic to most things these days, he does not detest animals. The resident felines of Volterra tend to avoid him however, there are more loving vampires walking about the palazzo so they prefer spending their days away from the oldest king.

Though Gustav and Elizabeth does not seek out Marcus very often, it is often the stray cats of Volterra that seem to find the king when he sits in the garden. Sometimes they curl up on his lap or at his side if it is a particularly warm day.

Sometimes Marcus will smile ever so slightly.
