I really need to talk about how John Steinbeck wrote Lee choosing Adam over his dream and how what kept him was love and how they raised the boys and put me on speaker with mr Steinbeck right now

Another AU because they bring me joy! Lmaoo this is actual author Loki au writing trashy romance novels about his middle aged neighbor Mobius and who finds out? Mobius' teenage sons that can't miss a single opportunity to tease their dad mercilessly
Kevin ducks behind the couch as best as he can while keeping an eye on their dad putting down the object of their mission on the small table near the entrance to their living room, turning to watch Sean flattening himself to the wall next to the TV - the ideal spot for keeping watch down the corridor Mobius just walked through. Sean moves his hand first in a circle, then in a go on motion, then puts his palm up.
“What are you even saying,” Kevin stage-whispers, and Sean turns towards him with an exasperated smacking of his lips. He mimics waves with his hands, nods and points towards the book left on the coffee table. “Coast is clear. Go.”
Kevin vaults over the back of the couch, getting caught in the right leg of his pajamas and landing on his back on the floor next to the couch with a muted oomf. He ignores the loud rolling of Sean's eyes and crawls out of sight towards the table, peeking up and over it to make sure there's no trace of their dad still. He snags the book and bolts towards Sean in one swift motion, and before he even halts they already have their heads bent together over the title.
“An Ocean of Love? Dude.”
“I know, he's reading trashy romance novels, this is hysterical.” Sean grabs the book to examine the simple white letters over an all-blue background of the cover, turning it around.
“‘It's never too late for love to come crashing down on you,” Kevin starts wheezing-whispering through the summary of the plot, elbowing Sean to give him more room. “Follow along as Rob, a middle aged single father of a rowdy teenager selling watercrafts for a living lets love back in his heart like a west bound current’ - wait.” Keving looks up to find Sean's narrowed eyes already mirroring his own.
“A middle aged man selling watercrafts? Doesn't that sound like dad?”
“But - Rob? And only one kid?”
“Have you forgotten our father's legal name is Donald? Don? Rob? Hello?” He finishes with a high-pitch tone, smacking away Sean's annoyed swatting.
“But one kid? I'm right here!”
“Clearly this alternative universe dad made the wise choice of having just one kid - ouch, alright alright.” He gets out of the whispering when Sean elbows him in the ribs. Kevin hands him the book back and clicks his tongue.
“This needs further investigation.”
As soon as the words leave his mouth the thumping of footsteps comes up from the corridor. They toss the book back and forth like a hot potato a few times between them before scrambling to put it back on the coffee table and run their way back to the kitchen.
ughhhhh the way that tsukishima and yamaguchi pull off their first ever serve and block and we get a glimpse into tsukki's thoughts at that moment and he isn't thinking about how sick it felt to get that stuff block or excited about making the point itself, no, he's remembering snapshots of yamaguchi—from the first "lame" and how he started off so small behind him, to the steps yamaguchi has taken to run full speed ahead of tsukki, surpassing him not in skill but drive and passion and "cool," to the courage it took for yamaguchi to stand up to tsukki and throw that hated "lame" back in his face, and now they're here standing on the court having pulled of what is considered volleyball's perfect play together and tsukki's response to that feat, to those memories of previously getting left behind by this person he once probably saw as beneath him, is to run straight back toward him and celebrate with a smile
