Coming from someone who lowkey ships it (I honestly just ship anything) I like to see it more as Vox favoring one employee just a little bit. I don’t think he actually cares in any meaningful way. His assistant is more of a placeholder character i suppose. It’s more of a “what if” kind of character. If this character acted this way, how would x character respond? What if his assistant has been there for a long time, possibly before Vox’s new tv head? What if Vox did care a little bit about someone else? What if he’s pretending to care as even more of a manipulation tactic? 

I’m not trying to change your opinion in any way, just trying to offer some insight on why people like this ship!

This isn't a big enough thing for anyone to care, it's lost it's hype, but vox x his assistant makes me so uncomfortable???? It feels like a booktok kink

They are both two consenting adults but are you telling me Vox would be nice to his employees? He's not a good person and probably doesn't even care enough to know his name. This guy seems like a nervous wreck. It seems like people projecting onto this cool design because they think Vox is hot and want to be his favorite, but this nameless character is not his favorite, no one is, he probably doesn't like any of his employees equally, why would he? He's an overlord with a giant ego and they're under his contract, he probably sees them as nothing and treats them like garbage
