From the moment we are born, we constantly have to trust someone or something.

We trust that we will wake up to fulfill our plans for the day, we trust that our bodies will be well enough to operate them, we trust that the vehicles and their respective drivers will safely get us to our destinations, we trust strangers (doctors, waiters, etc.) to meet our needs, and so on and so forth.

That's faith, which is defined as complete trust in someone or something.

Having faith in Jesus Christ to have eternal life is to trust that just as He proved by resurrecting, physical death (which no one escapes) is not the end. It's to trust that He paid for all our sins and for that reason, we will go to heaven. It's to have confidence in what's next after physical death.

I pray you trust that Jesus Christ paid for your sins, and therefore you will go to heaven. It is a gift. There is nothing you can do to earn it or lose it once you have it.
