Siemens Mobility offers flexible design of their trains using VR technology
Mireya is the most current single deck vehicle concept which Simmons is developed now for the railway industry we want the customer to design the compartment to his expectations and we believe with virtual reality we're gonna ease this choice for him we're using Verret from Autodesk and it's a very powerful software to demonstrate photorealistic view of our 3d data we can go into a virtual reality environment with the customer and make him understand much faster what this myrio is about we are able to change the arrangements in a short time and directly show it to the customer in opposite to a presentation VR is fully flexible and interactive virtual reality for us is not just the sales tool it means for us to design manufacture deliver and offer a better product it has a deep impact into our profitability it has an economical value to us we are is absolutely decisive to do a successful product launch our customers have the possibility to have a view of the 360-degree picture on his phone generated from Meerut in the discussions without of this we had the gut feeling that these people understand what we're talking about at the end of the day we decided that we should be using virtual reality because the failure rate is getting reduced the customers happier so the investment is over seeable but the effect can be maximized if you do invest into a virtual reality environment

Valve Index Offers Next Level Hand Presence In VR
welcome to the Oasis my name is Mike and today I'm gonna be showing you my first experience with the brand new valve index headset and the awesome new index controllers now I'm gonna be checking these out in the aperture hand lab experience why cloud head games this is a free experience set in the portal universe designed to show you the capabilities of the new index controllers and how they can be used to interact with objects and characters in virtual worlds now my full unboxing setup and first impressions of the valve index will be coming soon so make sure you stay tuned for that but in the meantime I hope you guys and girls enjoy this one and without further ado let's dive in okay welcome to aperture hand lab as you can see I'm using the brand new valve index headset the new base stations and of course the valve index controllers now these controllers are unique because they've got individual finger tracking in the capacitive touch sensors in the controller's so you can see that each individual finger is moving as I touch the controller which is really cool and then this means you can do some unique hand gestures that you couldn't do in VR before like yeah this is rad or piece or have some of this thumbs up point of course but also the interesting thing about these controllers is they've got a grip sensor so depending on how hard you grip you can see the sensor at the bottom is increasing as I increase my grip on the controller very cool you see that on the back of the hand as well there's very nice in terms of the headset itself just very quickly I will be covering them more about this in another video but it looks super clear screen door effect is there if you look for it like any other headset we've got on the market right now but it is very minimal you don't notice it straight away it is very sharp and clear and when you bring the lenses close to your eyes to increase the field of view with the dial at the side there it really does feel like the lenses are always touching your eyeballs so just a quick warning out there for people that are wearing glasses that there might not be enough room to accommodate those if you're using the lenses so close to your eyeballs but of course you can dial it back and in a cup to accommodate your glasses but of course you're going to lose some field of view as they're as of that but let's get straight into the experience this is the first time I've tried it so I hope you guys and girls enjoy this I've heard it's really really good I'm ready okay let's do it whoa this looks pretty high loving the portal vibe to consummate this wave exchange raise your hand open it then swing it gently from side to side waving it means you like me Oh see mate I was just getting to like him as well he's a badass right he's even got like tattoos on his robot arm screw you Alan just when you think you got the answers see you Alan singular purpose to come face to face with you once more and finally exact more friendship now hell yeah down low you got it man oh you tricked me oh yeah yeah snip snip snip okay got it no no that's where you get for cheating now pretty awesome down there you gotta see these hands I said Ted your lion was willing to get fired over these hands maybe I better check him out for myself yeah let's see you mock shot there you go you like those you like those babies I know right that feels so great lovely to meet man big fan of your work big fan that was great if I ask you to gently caress my hair oh yeah oh really that wasn't firm enough for you okay Oh swing around oh that's so cool okay I got it oh nice oh yeah that's fine hmm do we let him escape or do we destroy him hmm okay we've only got one key let's let's destroy him he did point a gun at us after all so sorry dude hey bye okay so there we have it guys and girls that's my first experience with the brand new valve index and the index controllers I still keep wanting to call them knuckles controllers I still think that was a much better name for them in my opinion but let me know what you think in the comments now this experience from cloud head games was short but certainly sweet it's free after all and it's a great introduction to how to use the new controllers and the capabilities of them and so far I'm pretty impressed but really all it makes me do now is one a full portal game in VR so so bad that would be absolutely awesome you never know valve might surprise us and let us know that they're working on something like this very soon I will be going in more depth about the valve index headset and the controllers what comes in the box how to set it up and some tips and tricks that I've learned along the way in a video soon so make sure you subscribe so you don't miss that upcoming video but I'd love to know what you guys and girls think about this aperture han labs experience in the comments down below you can also enjoy it on a rift and a vive so if you don't have an index all the new controllers you can still have fun with this experience and it is free after all and I've put a link to it in the description down below leave a like if you like this video make sure you're subscribed for all my future content and as always I'll see you on the next one Cheers

Virtual reality offers architects "a whole new way of designing"
hi I'm eka from the autism today I'd like to talk about architectural design in Virtual Reality virtuality technology is developing rapidly and has already found many uses in various fields here at the artisan muse real-time rendered virtual reality to create immersive and interactive architectural visualization experiences architectural virtual reality is an amazing tool because it allows you to create a one-to-one replica good project Devore is constructed allowing you to effectively communicate architectural ideas and everything from scale and icing to detail components and materiality I would like to show you how you can not only visualize projects in virtual reality but actually designed them we'll be showing you a quick demo how we use the HTC vive and the unreal engines be edited to do exactly that I come from an architectural background when I started my studies I quickly noticed difficulty in converting my intuitive understanding of spaces into scale drawings I think we all know from everyday experience how high is a desk how big is a door or whether space feel small or generous to translate this sensor project you would usually need to know the exact dimensions of the elements requiring Heat even measure them we use common practices I think sometimes this can make designing space is more difficult and constrained because you are relying on your interpretation of dimensional representations of intuitive experiences as designers we are used to thinking in planar views like plans and sections virtuality and answers to take a step directly into design and really engage with the space from a user's perspective think the main benefit of designing virtuality is that it's much less constrained compared to 3d modeling packages which makes it great tool for both conceptual design and detailed development the motion controllers are intuitive and flexible in that devices that allow you to create spaces and elements around you in an unconstrained way you can use your entire body as part of the design and create the space around you it's a very quick way to check the proportions of a space and how it feels in human scale designing within virtuality is the next step forward in creating modeling and the ways in which designing in first person from within the space benefit design process are numerous it's a great way to test out complicated ideas and also communicate them very quickly and intuitively is you can quite literally put someone else inside your mind's eye when they can walk around the virtual environment they have imagined and created this will be very rewarding and highlight important aspects of the project that were previously not flow about especially when designing spaces with complicated arrangements or unique things like stairs and furniture you can also apply different materials directly in the scene to test out the relationships between lighting materiality and scale in this case the base geometry was exported from robic and once we are finished we can import the virtual reality design back into a BIM model which starts designed very basic components we can add to the C and develop it further with more detailed elements textures and lighting you you thank you for watching don't forget to subscribe and follow us on Twitter to keep up to date with our latest architectural virtual reality projects you can also find a link to the full design video below until next time you
