I just know Grizel cares so much about Fitz.
She's known this boy since he was 14 (?) and she's watching him grow up.
She's hung around him for years, day and night.
She's eavesdropped on his conversations, and she was there for all of the aftermath of Alvar's betrayal.
She watched his world fall out from beneath his feet first hand. She heard the whispers that followed him everywhere he went. She watched his shoulders fall.
She probably watched him bake treats for his friends. She probably watched him cry and grieve. She probably dragged him out of his bed and showed him how to work out to get out of his head. She probably reminds him to eat, and to get some vitamin D. She probably listens to him pace his bedroom well into the night. She probably listens to him talk to Mr. Snuggles when he's really overwhelmed and just needs a friend who won't judge him.
She'd die for this little sad, short-tempered baby who has done nothing wrong ever in his entire life. And her heart aches for him. For the way he can be surrounded by people, but still be so lonely.
She probably knows him better than most people just off of observation alone.
idk man. we never talk about it. and the friendship angst/potential is immaculate.

This is EXACTLY the sort of thing my mind is up at 3am over!!!
one thing i'd never really stopped to consider before was exactly who wrote the article about sophie that got the whole series rolling. like, yes, it was the black swan, duh. but. which black swan members?
i hope it was the collective. i mean, it would make sense to involve the collective. but i hope there were things like squall insisting the formatting be a certain way based off of some human romcom film she loves that happens to have a closeup shot of a newspaper, or squabbling about which photo to use and tiergan winning w/ "let's use her senior photo" - stuff like that.

I SEE YOU
The potential for a Tam and Marella dynamic is INSANE
Even if you wanted to have it as platonic
But both are mistrust with their abilities
Both know how it's like looking after a family member
They have similar humar
Both of them are afraid of what will happen if they lose control with their abilities
THE POTENTIAL IS THERE
It's just a bonus thay the few times they interact they actually joke and get along very well
And thay Marella finds him attractive (first thing my girl points out about him)
I'm so insane about this
Yyaaasssss!!!! Brilliance!!!

Unpopular opinion: I TOTALLY ship Tam & Marella.

The agressive flavor of their flirtation makes me giggle, and I’m pretty sure their kid would be a real, actual Nightfury…
“…the unholy offspring of lightning & death.”

He leaped from his plesiosaur to hers and prodded Sophie's eckodon to swim away from the rest of the group.
"Relax," he said, tightening his grip on Sophie's waist. "I won't let you fall."
That wasn't why she felt nervous. The last time she'd sat like this with Keefe, they were flying with Silveny across the ocean.
The alicorn had been carrying them to the Black Swan that night as well. Sophie hoped this time wouldn't end so violently.
Keefe must've been sharing the same terrifying memories, because he whispered, "I will never let my mom hurt you again."
"You didn't let your mom do anything, Keefe. You know that, right?"
"You heard what Oralie said. The Council's blaming my dad for not knowing what my mom was up to. But... he's not the only Empath who lived with her."
"You told me yourself, you can't feel a lie only the emotions that go along with it."
"I still wasn't paying close enough attention."
"Why would you? No one assumes their family is evil." He tensed at the word and Sophie glanced over her shoul-der. "Sorry. I didn't mean that."
"Yes you did. And she is. And I should've seen it."
"You can't do that, Keefe. Edaline told me once that hindsight is a dangerous game. The clues seem too obvious when you know what to look for. Believe me, I would know."
She'd replayed her kidnapping-and Kenric's murder-more times than she'd ever admit. And each time she saw more warnings she shouldn't have missed. But she couldn't let herself take the blame. The elvin mind couldn't process that level of guilt. Their sanity shattered under the weight of the burden. She'd watched it happen to Alden over his guilt from what happened to Prentice an innocent member of the Black Swan he'd condemned to madness and Exile before he real. ized the Black Swan weren't really the villains. The only reason he could still function was because Sophie had found a way to heal him.
"Please," she whispered, "you have to protect your mind, Keefe. We both do."
"Okay," he said after a painful silence. "So we catch these guys and make them pay for what they've done."
"Can you really do that?" Sophie asked. "I mean... it's your mom. I know you think it won't matter, but—"
"It won't. She used me. Tried to kill me. Tried to kill my friends— and don't say she saved Biana on Mount Everest-"
"But she did! They would've rolled off that cliff if she hadn't stopped them."
"Right, so she was saving herself, and Biana was lucky enough to benefit."
Sophie wanted to argue, but she could tell it wouldn't help.
Plus... maybe Keefe needed to hold on to his anger. Anger was safer.
"If you ever need to talk," she whispered.
"Thanks," he whispered back, so close she could feel his breath on her cheek. His arms tightened ever so slightly, making her heart switch to hummingbird pace.

Dexiana baby! The real question is, does this strawberry-blonde kiddo have Mama's Vacker-teal eyes, or Daddy's Dizznee-periwinkle blue?
My money's on periwinkle... what's your guess?

This is powerful and deeply important. Men, please know that you are seen, heard, and deeply valued. Do not just bottle it up or let your needs be brushed aside.
June isn't just Pride Month.
It's also Men's Mental Health Awareness Month and that's something that should be talked about more. Social media and society often pushes hate onto men as a whole and it's honestly disgusting and I've seen from the people close to me irl and online that this affects them a lot.
A lot of the men in my life don't really talk about their feelings too much or at least don't say why they feel a certain way. There's stereotypes that men have to bottle up their emotions to be 'tough', which is so outdated and stupid. NO ONE has to feel like their emotions and struggles don't matter, they always matter. Holding it all in doesn't define strength, strength is in being able to show your feelings.
Pride Month often overshadows this and it's very upsetting. Not saying that's anyone's fault I'm just saying this should also be observed. We also just need to stop hating on men a whole, just because some men in your life may suck doesn't mean all men need to fuck off. I see hate towards men the MOST on social media, more than any other sort of discrimination (just my own social media experience but I know there's a ton of hate as a whole).
Let's look at some tags I found on Tumblr while putting tags in on this post.
Like I was DONE writing before the tags but I found these and put them just to prove my point. Fucking stupid. Can we just stop hating on people, this is part of the reason why they struggle so much.
Obviously I'm not a man so I can't fully speak on their behalf. But IF you're a man, know that you're not weak for your emotions. You are not weak for struggling. Your struggles are valid too. You are not inferior. You're human. And you're great. Please talk about your problems and feelings, it makes you strong. Your mental health matters, just like anyone else's.
